Hello dear followers! Today I offer you: pain. Tomorrow? Who knows! :)
@zebra-all-the-time‘s Forget Me Not AU really hit me in the feels so pls go over to their blog and give them some love
(I know ghosts don’t work that way (you can’t really touch them) but I was lazy)
Danny Phantom AU where Vlad isn’t a half ghost but some vampire mix. Maybe he was out hunting ghosts with Jack and Maddie late one night and he got bitten by a vampire. He was forced to drop out of school due to his affliction and became incredibly bitter when Jack and Maddie left him behind and got married. While not as obsessive as a ghost, Vlad is incredibly vindictive and petty. He hunts at night, sleeps in the day (in a bed, thank you, its not the 18th century) and plots his revenge.
Imagine his surprise when he hosts the reunion and finds his rivals have accidentally made their son into a human/ghost hybrid. Vlad has some knowledge of ghosts but overall doesn’t know how they operate. Thus Danny and Vlad’s entire relationship is the kinship of being weird semi-supernatural beings trying to have human lives while also totally misunderstanding the other.
Danny’s obsession is protection which he’s mostly able to fulfill by keeping Amity Park safe from ghosts. But it also means that, even in his every day life, he’s a bit of a paranoid mother hen. It only gets worse once he gets powerful enough that a lot of the ghost attacks drop off meaning he needs to manage his obsession in other ways. It started small but as he took on more and more responsibility, it became almost impossible to manage.
He’s that annoying friend who always asks people if they’re drinking enough water, had enough to eat and sleep. He starts carrying water bottles and snacks with him and his core just flares if he sees someone who starts to look tired out. He develops fine tuned instincts about the health and safety of people around him. His friends and family can never lie to him about how they feel, he just knows if Tucker skipped breakfast or Jazz started her period. He nags and fusses until they’re better. Sam and Tucker have had to physically restrain him from trying to fist fight with Coach Tetslaff when he sees that she’s pushing overworked kids too far. While Danny takes his own bullying with ease if he sees any other A-lister so much as looking the wrong way at a kid Danny will cut loose. The jocks find new ways to entertain themselves because Fenton is way too scary and strong when he goes feral. Bullying at Casper High is suddenly nonexistent.
While he’s the one who’s usually using it, he keeps a pretty extensive first aid kit on him at all times. The amount of times he’s run over to kids who’ve fallen and put cartoon themed bandages on their boo-boos or wrap up scrapes. Anyone who’s injured in Casper has just gotten used to Fenton kind of hovering in the periphery for a few days to make sure they’re really okay. It was Danny who quietly talked down a blubbering Dash after he badly dislocated his shoulder during practice. He’d been halfway across the school when he’d just known and dead sprinted to the field. He talked through the process and popped the shoulder back in place before the school nurse could get there. He got into a lot of trouble for that but when Dash got out of the hospital, he asked Danny to be the first to sign his soft cast.
His obsession tells him he needs to save people and it pulls at him constantly. He’s able to temper it somewhat but as the ghost attacks dwindle he goes a little bit insane with anxious energy. The citizens of Amity thinks it’s cute but kind of annoying not knowing how it eats at him. People tell him he’d make a great doctor or teacher but, to Danny, they weren’t a good fit. He wouldn’t reach as many people with those professions, it wouldn’t be enough to satisfy the burning need to save and protect and preserve that burned like a blizzard in him. He complained heartily but becoming Ghost King finally allowed him some peace in that manner. He could not only watch over the ghosts and ensure they had controlled, satisfying afterlives but could keep the entire planet safe.
Hero’s Spirit Stain fight Snippet
If asked a few hours ago if they had ever seen Midoriya bleed, both Iida and Todoroki would honestly have to say they weren’t sure. Bloody noses and small scrapes were far from uncommon in training, after all.
Now they knew they hadn’t. They would have remembered. Because whatever the thick oozing green substance was on Stain’s knife, glowing as it fell onto Native’s unconcious form, it sure wasn’t blood.
Midoriya did his silent scream thing and Stain was flung back into the alley, smashing against the wall. Midoriya’s form flickered, as it always did when he used that ability, between his base form and his hero form. But this time there seemed to been a third, for just a second. Midoriya in a middle school uniform with bloodshot eyes and blue lips.
“You…you think you’re…righteous?” Midoriya asked in a scathing tone. His eyes, normally glowing in his other form, were now solid green. “You think you’re making the world a better place? You’re no different from the villain who killed me under a bridge because he wanted to steal my body!”
Stain tried to stabilize himself (Had the blow against the wall or the silent sound hurt his ears? He seemed more wobbly.)
“You kill and you kill and it’s okay because these people’s death suit you and you’re not the one being murdered.”
Whatever else he was going to say next was cut off by a knife lodging itself deeply in his chest.
“Lesson one, dipshit. You can’t kill the undead.”
He heard sharp intakes from Iida and Todoroki, but forced himself to ignore them. Stain was top priority.
Why Half-Ghosts Are So Strong: A Headcanon
Not everyone becomes a ghost, and the way to become a ghost is simple. You must fight with everything you have not to die. You have to fight against death so hard that you almost win. Most people who become ghosts focus on the things they are leaving behind, the goals they haven’t accomplished, their regrets, their hopes, their guilt. These become their obsession, but it also becomes their power. They were their tools to fight against death, and in death these are their tools still.
Half-ghosts are half alive. They have a life to live and a life to protect. A full ghost is no longer fighting death, so they don’t need any new tools or powers. But Danny is constantly in fear for his life. Its noticeable he gets new powers when he is put under pressure. He is still fighting against death, as so many ghosts come to end him near daily. He needs new tools and new abilities to protect his life. And since he is still in that struggle, he is creating new tools for himself.
A ghost’s power is drawn from their need to survive. A full ghost’s death limits them, as survival is not an option. A half-ghost is unlimited as long as their life is constantly threatened.
I'm curious about "can you adopt a ghost?"
Ah… that one is a Danny Phantom fic. It’s about Maddie and Jack slowly transitioning from “gotta kill that Phantom!” to recognizing that the Ghost Kid really is just a kid, who’s trying to help. So over time, they start working with the ghost kid, then getting along, and then Jack and Maddie start to wonder: does this kid have parents? The obvious answer would be no, because he’s dead! Even if his parents had also crossed over, it really didn’t seem like they were around. He’s a good kid, he should have some support in his life. A couple times he’d already slipped - called Jack Dad. And so one day they approach the phantom kid and say “hey, son… you want to have parents?” They offer to adopt the ghost. They’d probably be the only human parents in the world who could handle the task.
And then Danny has to figure out how to break it to them that he’s already their biological son.
“Second Chance” Pariah Dark au
AU where instead of wanting to continue his rein of power & tyranny apon being let out, he doesn’t.
The sarcophagus of forever sleep puts the ghosts body in stasis but the mind remains untouched. The mind stays aware and conscious. Pariah trapped in there with himself for thousands of years.
Basically Pariah is put on a “probation” of sorts while (the observant most likely) figure out what to do with him.
The first one is a scenario, where Lewis is ready to rest in peace.(My friend told me about this idea actually, im cryingggg)
The second one is a thought about what could happen in the next video… (Just a cool thought, there is no logic or theories in this)
The Dancing Tree, A Cautionary Tale for Parents
This is another nightmare I had that I’d completely forgotten about, until I found this unfinished comic buried in my hard drive today.
In the dream, I was the tree.
Some people have wondered why this would be considered a nightmare, and it’s because somehow I knew there were rules I had to follow.
So I had to watch while I waited to be called.
