We’re currently in the midst of a massive, nation-wide propaganda campaign to convince you that staffing shortages are a major problem, when in fact they’re the most promising sign the American economy has seen in decades. Labor shortages are what rising wages look like on the ground level, and that’s what the business owner on your local news station is truly opposed to.
Just a reminder because apparently people don’t realize this, but the rainbow gay pride flag isn’t like…a gay male pride flag? it was literally meant as a pride flag for everyone in the community. not that there’s anything wrong with specific identities having their own flag, but i keep seeing ppl post flag sets as if the rainbow ride flag only represents gay men and saying that not including every single other flag known in existence means you’re excluding people when no it’s not the rainbow flag is for everyone
I think this is really important for people who are daunted by all the labels and still figuring themselves out. It’s okay. The rainbow flag is yours too
I saw someone the other day call being against the military “terfy” and now someone is calling the idea that we should be nice to children “terfy” so I think we need to go over how terf isn’t some throw away term for “person whose argument I disagree with that also reminds me of this amorphous group of bad people that exist in my head” and very explicitly refers to a coherent group of radical feminists who advocate for transphobic violence -__-
Jenny fell to her knees when the door closed. It was surprising how much losing her powers had messed up her stamina. Or maybe she was just panicking. Either way, her lungs burned.
Knightmare took a seat next to her, letting Jenny’s cuffed arm come down to her side.
They sat there in silence for a while, and Jenny finally took a good look at Knightmare’s now unobscured face.
It seemed that the way Knightmare disguised her identity was actually through her powers. A powerful illusion projected armor onto her, black but glittering with blue and purple. A billowing cape filled with stars. Her sword was real, of course, but she’d lost it in the scuffle.
Without her powers, Knightmare was… smaller. She was a bit long, a bit thin, with pale skin and a sharp nose. Her eyes were brown, and her straight raven hair fell just past her small shoulders. She was dressed simply, a plain red t-shirt under a leather jacket with bluejeans and black sneakers.
Jenny flushed slightly as Knightmare’s studied her in turn. Jenny was slightly short, her shoulders a bit broad. Her skin was a light tan, and she had a roundish nose. Her dyed bright blue hair hung in a bob of tight curls. She didn’t wear a mask, so her eyes were clearly visible, round and hazel and bright. Her whole outfit was in bubblegum and hot pink. Hot pink tights and jacket, bubblegum pink dress and sneakers. The goggles around her neck were hot pink with bubblegum accents.
Jenny took very careful breaths, and after a while the burning subsided.
“Sorry again,” Knightmare said. “I think we’ve got a bit. This place has water, if you need it, and a bathroom. Should be some food, too.”
“I and some friends use it as a safehouse,” she further explained when Jenny gave her a questioning look. “We can make it through this without getting caught.”

“Standard Oil would soon team up with General Motors and Firestone Tires to literally derail public transit systems in the United States. In the 1920s, electric trolleys were common in cities across the country, and only one in ten people owned cars. GM received funding from Standard Oil and others to buy National City Lines, a bus company, which—with this funding—came to control bus systems in forty-five cities. These busses were meant to eliminate the need for trolley tracks that had been embedded in the roads. Alfred Sloan, GM’s president at the time, said, “We’ve got 90 percent of the market out there that we can… turn into automobile users. If we can eliminate the rail alternatives, we will create a new market for our cars.” Once the national bus company replaced rail, they would let the business run itself into the ground, and make way for individual cars.”

i feel wildly self-conscious about that setting answer because setting is something i honestly really struggle with explaining beyond the scope of what room a character is in in a scene

The future, probably. Space. A desert planet that is dying. I’ve got various ideas for why it’s dying, exactly, but I am now suddenly thinking I could probably add more of the horsemen of the apocalypse. I don’t have anything more specific than that.
