Hi!! I just wanted to say thank you for all the delicious Axl content of late (it always makes my day :D)! Also, I'm so sorry about Joey, I haven't listened to a whole lot of Slipknot, but drummers dying makes me really sad :(. Anyways, I hope you have the best day you can!! (Btw I tried sending this once already, but it said there was an error or something, and I also got confused about something so if I sent you the same thing twice sorry lol)
so glad you’re enjoying the blog, it’s what i’m here for! i’ll definitely resume posting again when i can!
and yeah, thank you so for your concern, i really appreciate it! i still haven’t fully recovered from it all, but i’m doing a bit better than yesterday. i’ll miss Joey forever, but i don’t think he’d want me or any of us to be depressed or mentally ill for too long, even if it was because he passed, so i’m tryna bounce back here for him!
he’ll always live on forever in our hearts and lives, we’ll remember him til’ we die...① 🕊️🖤
i’ll also take this as an opportunity to speak up on smth that’s been on my mind this whole time:
to all my other fellow Maggots and Murderdolls fans out there,
if you’re reading this, Joey’s passing is a heart wrenching moment for all of us, but loss as meaningful as this can be sometimes even detrimental to our mental health, in turn damaging our physical, emotional and spiritual health too. Joey definitely appreciates the time we’re mourning and showing our respect for him, but if someone else were deeply hurt or even took their own lives because of the pain his death caused, i don’t think he’d be very happy.
he wants us to be safe, and to come together and celebrate the music he’s created and the life and legacy he’s left behind for us and we’re here to do just that.
so take care of yourselves, seek help and speak up if you need to or maybe even just take a step back to let it all out and cry, cuz bottling everything up doesn’t help at all.
i’m no one to tell y'all what to do or anything, but i really do believe it’s times like these where we as a community need to stick up for each other, and keep each other safe.
and of course, i’m right here if any one needs me too.
take care and take it easy everyone, [and thank you so much anon!]
rest in power…①🤘🏻🥀
ZZ Top Bassist Dusty Hill Dead at 72
Dusty Hill, the co-founder and bassist of ZZ Top, died in his sleep overnight at his home in Houston.
Hill’s bandmates, Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard, announced the death of ”our compadre” on social media.
“We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the Top,” they wrote. “We will forever be connected to that ‘Blues Shuffle in C.’ You will be missed greatly, Amigo.”
The bassist departed the band’s tour earlier this week to deal with what was described as an issue with his hip. At Hill’s request, concerts continued with guitar tech Elwood Francis subbing. The trio’s July 28 performance in South Carolina is canceled.
ZZ Top has tour dates booked through mid-2022.
John Fogerty shared a bill with the band many times, including at what turned out to be Hill’s final gig. The former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman tweeted a photo from that concert with his remembrance, in which he termed himself “devastated” by the news.
“We were so blessed to share the stage with the great Dusty and ZZ Top many times, and if that wasn’t Rock and Roll Heaven, I don’t know what is. … So heartbreaking,” Fogerty wrote.
A “shocked and saddened” Kenny Wayne Shepherd lamented Hill’s death and said, “the soundtrack of my life has been heavily influenced by your music.
“Thank you, my brother,” the guitarist wrote on Facebook.
Hill’s death brings to an end ZZ Top’s 51-year run with all original members.
“An all-time great bass player and a rock-and-roll institution,” Jason Isbell said of Hill on Twitter. “Breaks my heart.”
Christopher Cross eulogized Hill as a “great musician and an icon,” while Michael Sweet remembered the bassist as “an inspiration … a great player/singer.”
“Our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Dusty Hill,” George Thorogood & the Destroyers tweeted. “We are also thinking of our brothers in the band and crew for ZZ Top.”
My crying and all my sadness aside, my heart is filled with so much love, compassion and true happiness to see so many people of different communities coming together to love and celebrate his life and legacy.
If there is one thing Joey loved, it was seeing his fans come together to be happy and enjoy what he created.
As long as we keep saying his name, he will never truly leave.
The body may have gone, but spirits last forever ❤️🕊️
I’m going to miss his little jokes, I’m going to miss his posts of the kitties, I’m going to miss his laugh, I’m going to miss his love and support for all the fans old and new, I’m going to miss him, I’m going to miss him, I miss him so much already.
This is absolutely unfathomable for me. Today we lost one of the greatest drummers in the world, my absolute #1 hero, idol, and role model, Joey Jordison. He was the heart and soul of two of my favorite bands in the world, Slipknot and Murderdolls. And I know for a fact he was a hero to so many others out there as well for his creative and furious drumming and artistic vision. He single-handedly inspired the next generation of metal and rock drummers by pushing the limits and completely shattering the boundaries of his instrument.
His legacy is unquestionable, his influence on metal music is undeniable, and his presence will be very sorely missed. I’ll never forget him and he’ll never stop inspiring me. Rest in peace, Joey ①.

@ slipknot fans, please take care of yourselves after hearing the news about Joey. Its perfectly normal that you feel sad and frustrated, musicians can be as meaningful to us (if not more) as people we know in person. Let yourself grieve, take a moment or a day if you can and dedicate it to self care. It’s okay to cry. I’m sending love to all of you 💘
my favorite part of concerts is when the band plays a song everyone knows so everyone’s singing along all out of tune but then the singer stops singing and they point the mic at the crowd and u just hear everyone in the crowd singing the words to the music and u see the smiles on the band members’ faces bc they know people care about their music and everyone’s just so happy who cares about anything else
