luke hemmings as ross lynch: a thread
I’m just super fucking bitter that once the flint water crisis got it’s 15 minutes of fame people stopped giving a shit. The water is still poisoned, people! Donations have plummeted and people have been forced back into drinking and bathing with the water! The medical effects of this are astounding, cases of legionnaires disease have skyrocketed, people are having seizures, people are having weird rashes break out over their body, people (including me!) are having their blood poisoned, and it’s not just lead! it’s coliform bacteria! it’s THMs! it’s all in the water and it gets into the bloodstream and breaks down blood vessels, causing bruising and petechiae and internal bleeding and no one gives a shit anymore and it’s only gotten worse like how many people are going to have to die until people realize this is still a problem
I would like to add that the people of Flint cannot sell their houses, because selling a house with leaded water is illegal. Additionally, households with children can’t stop paying for the water because living in a house without running water is cause for CPS to take their kids. Flint has been living this way for over two years.
The people of Flint are trapped by the legal system. And it is only the most high profile case out many cities with a similar problem.
Because the government has abandoned them, they are dependant on help from the outside. Donate here
Mari Copeny has taken the initiative to create a water filter. I’ve linked her GoFundMe that’s she using to raise money for it. She’s been able to raise $50k in donations but her next goal is $1 million
Water is a basic human right, it says a lot about governments that fail to provide that. Especially for a so called ‘first world country’
This is as of 4/26/21.
@one-time-i-dreamt signal boost?
Water is a basic human right, water is a basic human right, water is a basic human right
the concept of growing into love is so much more intriguing than falling in love. it’s like, on all our good days and bad days, I will choose to love you, I will learn with you, I will live my life with you and we will grow into and with each other through the passage of time

my singing voice is good for showers and mornings in the kitchen and drunken nights and lullabies for babies who need sleep and im okay with this
i think it’s silly to be ashamed of your art because it’s not in a museum and of your voice because it’s not selling out stadiums. there will always be people who enjoy and appreciate what you can do.
Idk why but this hit me really hard and I’ve been staring at it for a couple minutes.
I want to listen to music but like hear the entirety of each song in 30 seconds
I need every single person to understand how horrible tumblr’s tagging system is
I go into the tag for epilepsy and its all flashing lights. We can’t use our own tag because people without epilepsy fill it up with improper warnings.
Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.
Here’s proof of what I mean:
THIS POST IS 100% OKAY TO REBLOG, I ENCOURAGE PEOPLE WITHOUT EPILEPSY TO ESPECIALLY DO SO!
Changing trigger tags is absolutely something people should do. However this post confuses the tag with a search, and I only bring it up because this confusion actually makes this issue harder to solve (and ignores a really simple work around for those on desktop). This is a Tumblr issue at its heart, not a user one.
What the OP has done here is not go to the Epilepsy tag. They have actually searched Tumblr for any post that has the term Epilepsy in it. That bar at the top is a search bar, it does not take you to the tag (it did once, but they changed that many years ago). Think about that search bar as if it was a google search.
Even if everyone was to change their trigger tagging, that kind of search is still going to bring up unsafe posts, and an awful lot of irrelevant ones. The soft removal of tags in favour of a search based system can makes trigger (and anti, for that matter) tags work the opposite way to intended.
If you are on mobile, unfortunately you no longer have access to the tags, search is your only option (though looking now, it seems that if you track the tag, you might have the option when you go to search to click on the tag, or you could click on the epilepsy tag on a post to go to posts with that tag, but I haven’t tested that properly). However if you are on desktop, you can still access the tag, by going direct to the tag page link - https://www.tumblr.com/tagged/epilepsy. That just gets you the posts actually tagged Epilepsy. (And a quick look at the tag doesn’t seem to have any trigger tagged posts, and seems all relevant posts.
While the onus should not be on you to work around this, for users on desktop, switching to the tag over the search should help keep you safe.
Unfortunately this kind of issue is not going to go away unless Tumblr give everyone back that easy access to the tags, which seems unlikely given how long it has been.
Imma add on with how to block out tags on mobile
1) go to settings and find account settings:
2) once you’re there, find the option “filtering” and click it:
3) find the option of “+ New” and after clicking it, type in your tags you wish to filter out, in this case, tags related to epilepsy:
