writers and artists are underappreciated. they’re literally creating universes, people, timelines,,, with their bare hands??? incredible

i love small joys so much!!!! yes i love my coffee in my favorite mug!!! i love the sun spilling in the window!!! i love the wind on my face!!! i love my blanket over my lap!!! i love the clouds in the sky!!!! i am seeking joy in every moment!!!!
while i get why some kpop fans are so focused on idols’ images and actions being constructed by their companies, i think it can make things worse when many fans already don’t see idols as real people (which they in fact are), and that makes it easier to justify stripping idols of personal responsibility/agency/privacy. companies are powerful but they’re not throwing away money hiring scriptwriters for every little piece of content. idols aren’t dolls or robots, they’re closer to youtubers that represent themselves a certain way on camera or even me on tumblr choosing what to disclose about my life except obviously i don’t have the same platform… it’s really not that different or mysterious? and of course the way people single out kpop for being especially inauthentic and manufactured is orientalist at its core. the point of this post is that you can have a healthy relationship to celebrities without dehumanizing them
