With just a quarter of a century under his belt, Rwandan artist Ngabo D. Cesar - also known as El’Cesart – has certainly enjoyed a great deal of high profile success.
This year, his distinctive fusion of traditional and digital imagery graced four cover posters for HBO’s dark fantasy horror show, Lovecraft Country.
The Philippines-based artist also created this self-assured portrait for musician @justpeej’s 2020 EP, entitled “Waiting for Paris.

It’s hard to imagine that anything could possibly improve upon William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s 1886 neoclassical gem, ‘The Return of Spring’. Nonetheless, here we are - drink in the scarlet glory!😍
This contemporized photo collage is
just one in a long line of @alksko’s delightfully whimsical creations. He has made a name for himself as a wizard of meshing old-school imagery (plucked from some of the greatest classic works in history) with contemporary urban backdrops.
The result – as can be seen in this piece, “Love Hit” (In the Nightclub) - is clever cheeky fun.

Everyone who has at least one functioning eyeball knows just how naturally spritely and artfully designed hummingbirds really are.
Leave it to @hannahyata to give Mother Nature a run for her money by kicking the naturally sublime design and aesthetic of everyone’s favorite wee bitty birdie pollinator up a gazillion notches.
This oil painting - “Pearldrops” - is just a delirious delight! 💫✨

And now, savor this gothic interlude brought to you by contemporary surrealist and painter of the curiously creepy, @stephenmackey_artist. 🕷💀🌹🦇
The self-taught UK artist’s canvases are notable not only for their Victorian-Neo-Classical aesthetic, but also for their ample inclusion of collar frills, empire waists, so very many moths, and an overall ‘once upon a midnight dreary’ vibe. Just the way we like it ;)
This oil painting from 2019 is called “The Magicians”.

INSIDE ISSUE 31 // “It’s the serene environment of the deep sea. A pressurised, silent space slashed with the vibrant swaths of colour inherent in the natural world. If it’s not subterranean levels of ocean, it’s hypnagogic landscapes that shutter, splinter, and sway like glitched VHS tapes. Encrypted within intense layers of real, unreal, imagined, and experienced, is a sense of our macrocosm seen through the eyes of an extra-terrestrial form given the massive task of recreating the brutality and beauty of the human experience. Clipping together our reality from the analogue results in a hallucinatory vista drenched in vivid tones.” Read our exclusive interview with Ian Francis in Issue 31 of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine.

With all of the mask😷wearing that we’ve been doing in today’s pandemic era, so many of us have been glamourizing our 👁eyes👁 a lot more than we once did.
While this feathery eyelash look – sewn directly onto a photograph by
@villanaart – is ostentatious, it just seems like the perfect way to create spirit-lifting lash lemonade out of puckery-sucky COVID-19 lemons!👌🍋👅

If you’ve ever dreamed about walking through life with your creative soulmate, reserve the urge to get green with envy.
That bliss is exactly what the digital collage team known as @welderwings enjoy on a day-to-day basis.
The husband-wife art duo (Nuria Velasco and Francisco Abril) have been cranking out uber baroque, goth-to-the-max imagery - such as this image, “The Blind Muses” - for just three years. They’ve established such a
seductive aesthetic that you can easily recognize their fingerprints all over
Be happy for them - it’s something for all of us to aspire to! Viva la creativity avec l’amour!💕

Despite the childlike innocence that is inherent within @yuanthonyyamada’s canvas characters, they still seem very capable of taking care of themselves, thank you very much.
They are explorers, dreamers, and even rulers of an enchanted realm full of wide-eyed wonders. “Space” - which is featured in this post - is one such example of the many ‘hats’ that they wear.
This summer, Yu Anthony wrapped up his solo exhibition - “Light and Shadows” – at Tokyo’s @reijinsha_g Gallery. Just two pieces remain from that largely sold-out show. Interested in his unique aesthetic? Let him know :)

There are 26 shots of the radiant Ms. Anyon Asola Adut in South African photographer Justin Dingwall’s photographic series “Fly By Night”. Remarkably, every single one of them
is as poetic as this image.

Some of us are fortunate enough to apply the skills that we acquired during our college and post-grad education toward real-world work.
In @lisa.lachnielsen’s case, she continues to put her training as a clothing designer to excellent use in her paintings, such as “Red Flowers” (from 2019).
The vast majority of the muses inhabiting her canvases wear interesting drapey outfits with unique detail work (such as frilled collars, polka dots, stitching, bows, poofy sleeves – the list goes on!).
If you are a fan of bespoke garments or you simply just respect the great attention to detail that some artists pour into their work, then definitely make a point of visiting the Copenhagen-based artist’s website. https://buff.ly/37jkiNt

Moths tend to be associated with holy sweaters, which really sells them short. Maybe they just always get trapped in closets and are desperate for a little snack.🦋🍽
They’re even regarded as an ugly step-sister to the otherwise radiant princess butterfly, despite the fact that many of them are just as magical to behold.
These unsung and underappreciated pollinators are a recurring theme in @eugenia_shchukina’s art, representative of fears, illusions and complexes.
You may be interested to learn that this watercolor, white gouache, and
pastel image – titled “A Strong, Independent Woman” – took the Russian contemporary artist EIGHT whole months to complete. And what a stunning creative effort it ended up being!

Athens-based conceptual photographer George Georgas (aka @gsquare_photography_studio) loves being a rule breaker. His artistic approach incorporates dream weaving in conjunction with turning conventional ways of thinking upside down.
If you take a moment to explore his portfolio, the painterly aesthetic of some of his more avant-garde images will bubble to the surface, reminding you why art never fails to save the soul.
