i wish letterboxd your year in film would be talked about as much as spotify wrapped 🥲
To any fic writers who worry they are wasting their time… I read a fic for a relatively small and inactive fandom about three years ago. And there was one specific scene where a character watched another dancing like an idiot to a beyonce song and it was so sweet and loving that even now years later I have that song on one of my spotify playlist so every once in a while it will play and remind me of that fic, and every time it does I smile and feel a little happier.
The stats on a fic will never really tell you if your writing touched someone. There’s no numerical way to show you what impact you made. Maybe you are wasting time, or maybe you are writing something that someone will remember for a long time, something that will never fail to make them smile.
You asked me if I was okay. It doesn’t matter if I’m okay. This is the 200-meter freestyle. Absorbing other people’s feelings, that’s a two-ton anchor around your neck. Go ahead. Care about the world, tithe, fall in love. Whatever. On your own time. Here, feelings, they drain your lifeblood. They, um, turn your eyes gray. How I’m doing cannot be your problem. Caring about other people, it limits your ability to make self-serving decisions. And what is good for you is good for the company.
THE MORNING SHOW Season 2 (2021)
not sure how to word this properly but i feel like.. the way unnecessary cattiness is “rewarded” online (especially on twitter) really just made some people forget how to act normal. i agree that sometimes that needlessly exaggerated rudeness is funny but in most cases it just makes you look like an idiot tbh… i don’t mean to sound too pretentious either - i’m just thinking of those cases where somebody asks a genuine question and in return they get the nastiest fucking reply from somebody who clearly doesn’t speak to enough people in real life… like do you hear yourself? do you think this anyone finds you intimidating instead of just off-putting? congrats on being the grand champion of maladjustment i guess
