“Well don’t you look handsome tonight!” Poppy grinned ear to ear at the sight of Rich semi dressed up, “Not that you don’t look good every night.” she smiled leaning up and kissing his cheek hello. “Now tell me why are you standing here all awkward and alone? A guy like you should be out there working his lady killer skills!” she teased punching his arm playfully.
Smiling, Rich brings an arm around Poppy’s waist as she kisses him. “Thanks. You look stunning tonight too,” he says, returning her greeting with a small squeeze of her hip and letting her go. “Lady killer skills? Is that what it’s called nowadays?” He chuckles and adjusts his mask. “I’m fine just being here, really. What’s a cute girl like you doing talking to a guy like me?”
I’m going to be watching movies for the night, I think. I’ll be on later!
Kent clapped his hand on Rich’s back once he’d gotten close enough to him. With a smirk, he looked down to the man sitting in front of him, then around the club. “Do you intend on sitting all night? We’re here to party. Crush bottles of Bacardi. Have a smoke.” Sitting down next to him, he ran his fingers through the chocolate curls that sat atop his head. “It’s been a pretty good week, right?”
Rich smiled up at him and placed a hand on his arm. “Don’t intend to get up,” he says and releases him so he can sit. His arms cross over his chest and he leans back in his chair. He nods and licks the corner of his mouth, mirroring him by pushing a hand over his head to ruffle his hair. “Hey, I’ll have a smoke, why not. I’m just not A-plus at the whole party thing. ’M out of my element.”
Rich was lucky to have gotten there early so he could get a seat. He wore a simple suit and white mask, fancy things not really being his cup of tea. He sat at a farther off table by himself, fingering his tie with a straight expression on what was visible of his face. He wasn’t one for the party scene when he wasn’t behind the bar doing work. Approaching footsteps made his head raise and look to whoever it was coming close.
What does that even mean. How does one even have a type, dude? If you want to fuck a girl, you do. There’s nothing that is like, that will turn me off about a girl.
Really? I have a type. Pets and not being social are pretty big turn-offs for me.
Jesus, how much are you paying that babysitter, Rich? Hopefully none more than you’re actually making?
’s only ten dollars now over the normal 5 per hour. Plus she was gonna take her out to chuck e cheese tonight, which she’s willing to pay for. It’s nothing I can’t afford.
We haven’t ripped each other’s heads off yet. So, I’d say it is. How are you though? Are you going to come to the party tonight?
I’m good. I am going to come to the party tonight. Hired the babysitter for a little more money per hour than normal just in case I’m out longer than usual.
I’m not worried about it, I know you’ve got your bar under the control. I’ve been doing really well, just working and trying to send out orders and get numbers together for my dad. I’m not bugging her, really. We’ve decided unless it’s work related, we’re not going to talk about it.
So you’ve pretty much been doing basic stuff. That’s good. Too much excitement is dangerous. So, you two are ignoring each other unless you need to discuss work. Is that working for you guys?
Yeah, I’m head cleaner. I don’t see the point half the time because every time I come back to this place it looks more like a bomb’s hit it then it did last time I finished cleaning.
Sometimes I wonder about this place. It’s got a weird attraction for filth. Maybe we’re cursed.
Ugh okay, I’ll do it the way you say and I know I’m not doing it for myself, but is not the first time I work as a bartender and I’ve never had a complain before.
This isn’t your average run of the mill bar, and you will get complaints if it’s too strong. Plus, the vodka we use is expensive and we cant have it tossed down the drain because you messed up a drink.
Well, they’re new. So, I might have to cut them a little slack. You’ve been here the longest, so you know what makes everything absolutely perfect. But, we’ll have to do so before tonight. I can’t afford to be buying it every day.
I found who was doing it, so I’ll make sure it gets taken care of; don’t you worry. How’ve you been doing? Not bugging Pop too much are you?
