Saturnology from @actblazer Cyber Troopers Virtual On! https://retrowaretv.com/saturnology-cyber-troopers-virtual-on/
At last, Davetona is here! Davetona is my brand new series where I talk all about the racing game genre. In this first episode, I talk about a steaming pile of garbage, Glacier 2 for the NIntendo Wii.
Take to the skies as a ninja, a robot, or even a dolphin! Its Sonic Wings Special/Aero Fighters!
Saturnology - Astal
In 2010, all I wanted was to be a part of TGWTG. I remember seeing if I could be an article writer or something small to get my foot in the door with the site. I just remember it meaning so much to me, if I could just be a part of this group of producers who seemed to love each other and have fun…
On this EXTRA, I play through my personal favorite Sega Saturn game, Sega Rally Championship!
Its finally here! In episode 7 of Saturnology, I talk about the infamous Sonic racing game, Sonic R!
On this EXTRA, I take a look at the Sega Saturn port of Impact Racing, by FunCom and Acclaim.
On this episode of Saturnology, I take a look at Gale Racer, the Japan-only port of Rad Mobile for the Sega Saturn.
Also, the next Saturnology episode on Sonic R is almost here! Stay tuned!
I present to you the first episode of Saturnology EXTRA! Saturnology EXTRA is a brand new sub-series about anything else Sega Saturn related that I dont cover on the regular Saturnology show. Stuff like simple gameplay footage, behind the scenes, gameplay walk-throughs/Let’s Plays, collection videos/updates, and special features. In this episode, I take a look at the Sega Saturn exclusive, Crimewave from Eidos Interactive.
I’ve been playing lots of Anarchy Reigns recently, and why wouldnt I? Its the latest Platinum Games joint, and it does not disappoint. While my rhymes certainly do, the music in the game knocks it out of the park! If you liked the soundtrack from Madworld on the Wii, it’s pretty much more of that, with some chill tracks thrown in there, like this one from the training mode. I could seriously leave this on for hours while I go do other stuff…or I could play more Anarchy Reigns. Be right back.
As relevant as this past summer’s Olympic games, this episode of Saturnology takes a look at Decathlete, the button mashing, arcade sports game by Sega.
Recently, I’ve been playing lots of Need For Speed Most Wanted (A Criterion Game), and I’ve been enjoying the hell out of it! I think that mainly has to do with the fact that I just play this song during police chases. It gives a real exhilarating sense of urgency all throughout, and you just want to keep building upon it by crashing into more and more stuff.
Finally! Theres a new Saturnology to watch. Hooray! In this episode, I take a look at Manx TT Superbike.
If i’m looking for a really solid mix, Quinten 909 is my go to guy. His mixes are incredible, and this one is no exception. It’s free to download via iTunes, so get on it!
In this episode, check out the Sega Saturn port of the original arcade classic, Daytona USA!
Original Air Date: 7/27/12
This is a re-edit of the original episode that aired on 1 More Castle. Added the Saturnology intro to the beginning and fixed some audio issues (fixed volume level)
Starting today, I’ll be posting older episodes of Saturnology to Pixel Raver. These older episodes are slightly re-edited, so as to not be confused with the official 1 More Castle videos, so the beginning and ending bumpers are gone. I did go back and fix a few things though. Mainly, I fixed some audio issues. Other than that, it’s still the same episodes you love to love. So be sure to check them out, and to also watch the latest episodes on 1 More Castle. Just click the Saturnology button to go to the official show page. Thanks, and happy viewing!
Here’s another awesome chill remix from Shook. If you’re a fan of the Wingman music from Pilotwings 64, you’ll really like this. Plus, it’s free to download!
Sega, what were you thinking? I mean, im all for innovation in video games, but I dont think we can get there by milking a cow for tickets. Udderly Tickets from Sega Pinball has you milking a cow’s udders as they light up in order to get tickets. As ludicrous of a concept that is, the game actually played okay back in the day. Nowadays, the machine has fallen on hard times, as its not very responsive with registering successful “uddering”. You may have gotten all the udders when they light up, but the game doesnt seem to think so.
Ill give them one thing though. The presentation is pretty awesome. I mean, the last thing that you would expect to see when you walk into an arcade is a big ass cow giving out tickets when you pull on its udders. Last time I checked though, I wasnt at the county fair. Udderly Tickets wasnt the last time that Sega Pinball would cash in on the non-existant barnyard game craze. They had Wack-A-Doodle-Doo, which was pretty much wack-a-mole, but with chickens. Anyways, if you ever happen upon Bessie at an arcade, give her a tug. It makes for a funny novelty game, but beyond that, nothing more.
After a long delay, episode 5 of Saturnology is upon you unsuspecting internet folk! In this episode, I take a look at the Sega Saturn port of Space Harrier, which is in my opinion, the best port of the game out there.
After almost 2 years of being kept hidden, The Hair Kid has finally released his debut EP. He brings out 6 original tracks that completely shatter my expectations! The man knows how to rap. You can buy his EP now for $5 digitally on Bandcamp, or slap on an extra dollar and get the album on CD and digital download. Please, give this man your money! His music is too good to pass up.
I’ve talked about Shook’s remixes before, mainly his Ellie Goulding - Lights remix, and I thought it was excellent. I recently went back to look in his Soundcloud portfolio and found this gem. It’s super funky and perfect for some smooth listening.
