this was supposed to be a ‘what if Dorian was a Dark Souls’ character’ kinda drawing
then it became a ‘Let’s cover Dorian in gold and give him thick eyeliner’ kinda drawing ;v;
Speaking of age… man it would have been nice to fuck around and find out for 120 years before being considered an adult.
Young gamers oogling at Astarion: I can’t tell if he’s 20 or 40! Old man! He has wrinkles!
Me in my thirties: …
I was just thinking the other day how crazy it was that a lot of my BG3 mutuals play WoW. But then I remembered Baldur’s Gate lead me to WoW and everything made sense.
Anyways, it’s cool seeing content for it even though I haven’t played in years.
“Niceness before knives, haven’t I always told you?”
Josephine Montilyet the actual loml. The minute I finished inquisition I knew I had to draw her and I couldn’t get the image of her in a saree out of my head so here is what the in game tarot card for her would look like in my ideal world ✨💛

Random thoughts (that have probably already been said, but I have goldfish memory so wheeeee – we’re repeating ourselves, maybe):
I still find it peculiar the headcanon some people have that Astarion has black/brown hair prior to being a vampire. He’s an elf, so it’s highly probable he naturally had white hair. Vampirism isn’t really known to change hair color, just eyes and teeth (if it were, Cazador wouldn’t be a brunette).
What’s also highly probable is that Astarion’s an old man and went white with age. Forgotten Realms elves do go grey/silver/white with enough age.
Of course, that would mean this bastard is old as all hell (like 600-700+) and is STILL a dumbass gremlin. Age apparently does not always impart wisdom and common sense.
“AGING? What do you mean AGING? i’m a VAMPIRE. forever young.”
“is that why you’re still a fucking idiot then”
Honestly, if it wasn’t for the dream I had, I never would have cared much for dark hair Astarion.
I imagine it’s natural since he’s a high elf. Vampires don’t really age. Unless they go long periods of time without blood, I think?. Like consuming massive amounts can restore certain functions to the body. So not consuming blood may affect their anti aging.
Maybe his maturity level never caught up with his age. It’s the RATS. >.<
i am not gonna lie, it is my favourite character in the games and after the stress in college, i will make all the self indulgent sketches that i want
so, his hair evolution through the years and my take on that
As a little child, Rialto’s sand and salt water would have made his hair a matted mess, i highly doubt that the whores would have taken care of that
at ten the crows are all for practicality, they cut his hair SHORT. I gave him a rat tail because it reminded me of the children in my town that have it (also… a little reference of the padawans ahaha)
as a teen, he would have known how his charm can get him places, so after passing the test and becoming a new little crow, i suppose he would have started taking care of it and letting it grow so he can braid it. ALSO, THE WOUND ON HIS CHEEK. I thought it would be cool that the tattoo is an attempt to cover it because it made him self conscious? i don’t know,
Maker, but he wanted to see her. With each letter the ache in his chest grew. He wanted Bethany to fall asleep against his shoulder, again, and this time never have to say goodbye. He wanted to battle for the covers between her and their dogs in his massive bed and wake up in a tangle of limbs and sheets and fur. He wanted to lie outside in the sunshine, shirking all responsibilities, and have her find him every time, scold him, and lie down with him. He wanted to wake up and find her still there, cheeks flushed from the sun, eyes soft with sleep. He wanted her safe, above ground, with him.
