Amparo de la Sota is b.1963.
Daughter of painters she soon began her artistic training. She studied Arabic Philology and lives in Madrid, Spain.
She spoke about her creative process: “I “build” my work with irregular pieces of old fabrics. Rags, pieces of torn and worn fabrics, with some carefully embroidered initial. Heavy, thick linen fabrics that reach me from the past. With them I have recreated a map, a landscape in which to place them. Fabrics present in all homes, that are part of the past of all of us, objects that were once daily and that I wanted to bring to the present to admire and transform. And while I was embroidering it, I was not aware that another drawing, another pattern appeared on the back of the work, just like an insect, without realizing it, leaves its trail in the sand.”

雖然只是腦海內的虛像場所,但正是自我本質最真切的證明,山是自我之中映照自我的鏡,山景與建築合而為一,成為完整的自覺體現。

Neil Bousfield is a British artist working in relief printmaking and contemporary wood engraving. His recent work explores the landscapes of the North Norfolk coast and the changing geography of time and place. He sketches on location, walks, researches and imagines to make his layered prints. The balance of gentle hues and the play of line and texture give Bousfield’s work a timeless quality.
