Dreamed to be an actor, went to school for architecture, found an eye for fashion and was the reason gucci is at 10 billion today. Meet tom ford. #researchyourbrand #labels #notjustalyric #knowfashion
Why yes, its great to think that some exposure can help illuminate someones career but would you base your fashion choice by word of mouth? Wouldn’t you want to conduct your own research and be an originator instead of spending money on an outfit that 3 million other people will be wearing at the same exact time ?
“I dont rock molly, I rock TOM FORD”..
Without learning about this man, would you unconciously wear his product without knowing his background and inspirations?
Sometimes I wonder if we are the product of pop culture instead of the the designer of our own talents.
Research your brand, know your brand and do not let the brand wear you.
Before karl was the legendary coco chanel. She paved way in fashion and was praised for revolutionising fashion. She made the first woman pant, the.black little dress and jacket with pockets. Cid, is a free-spirited vocalist who I’ve got the opportunity to meet during her Rise and Grind debut on Bronx Net. Her voice was not only mouth dropping, but her style caught me giving a dou-double look. Her T-shirt stole my attention and that’s why she is on this week Fabric Diaries.
When Interviewing Miss.Cid, I asked “WHY”?
Well Lisa Bonet (Denise Huxtable from the Cosby show) and my memory of my homeland Trinidad & Tobago is what inspired this item of choice. I’ve always thought that in fashion, men’s clothing were always given more thought when it came to detail. Its simple but it sets a statement. Most Female singers are given this stigma that they have to be bedazzled up. And for myself, less is more.
Well check you out stunnnaahhh, w-o-r-k it !
Love Coco Chanel, Roses &&& class ?

I am seamlessly obsessed with this show and embarrassed to say i WAS that girl at one point in my teenage years and/or current. Its always a great show to watch with your girls or (friendemeny). And if your clan is compossed of different personalities, you can all laugh at some of the same qualities all girls possess.
But after realizing the outrages things girls are capable of doing, How do you react in a crowd of not so nice
bitches ladies ?
Well, Get your claws sharpened ! (hiss, hiss)

So after enduring a week back from college, with a degree in Veterinary Technology ; I found it hard transitioning back into the city atmosphere. Without a job and studying for my licensing exam, I thought why not entertain myself with a new Hobby. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to work on both my fashion and journalist interest by blogging about our New York Natives and what they call fashion.
Starting Next week, I will be giving you a personal look to their eclectic styles and the spots I call home. This blog will also include a spotlight on their talents, inspirations , the department stores they cannot live a day without. Stay tuned for Fabric Diaries.
Me, My self, and I. My 3 friends.
“I’ll never forget the day Marilyn and I were walking around New York City, just having a stroll on a nice day. She loved New York because no one bothered her there like they did in Hollywood, she could put on her plain-jane clothes and no one would notice her. She loved that. So as we we’re walking down Broadway, she turns to me and says ‘Do you want to see me become her?’ I didn’t know what she meant but I just said ‘Yes’- and then I saw it. I don’t know how to explain what she did because it was so very subtle, but she turned something on within herself that was almost like magic. And suddenly cars were slowing and people were turning their heads and stopping to stare. They were recognizing that this was Marilyn Monroe as if she pulled off a mask or something, even though a second ago nobody noticed her. I had never seen anything like it before.” - Amy Greene, wife of Marilyn’s personal photographer Milton Greene
