Small comic about how Pink Pearl got a crack on her eye!
I always thought that Michelin was like a prestigious international society of food critics but they’re a fucking tyre manufacturer.
I like how they were like “well there aren’t many cars around so to get them to buy more tires let’s publish a tour guide to France so people travel more and use up their tires.”
Over time they started to incorporate restaurants worth visiting on their tours and even sent out anonymous inspectors to gather information to rate them and now over 100 years later they made a notoriously grumpy world renowned chef cry because his restaurant lost two stars in a rating system that two dudes made up to sell more tires.
They became a world renowned food criticism magazine on accident?????
Y’all crack ass hoes love to act colorblind and oblivious when it suits you. You hate talking about colorism because the bliss of being ignorant allows you to feel special when in reality a lot of you are as basic as cottage cheese. It’s always “were all black in the white mans eye” until it disrupts your mediocre opportunities. But… what do I know???
photos by gerry ellis from the david sheldrick wildlife trust, a nursery and orphanage for elephants in kenya’s tsavo east national park. here, fifty five keepers are charged with being around the clock parents to an elephant. the elephants, however, are the ones who chose their caretakers; it is the keepers who must ingratiate themselves to the elephants and earn their trust.
when elephants first arrive at the orphanage they are often traumatized from having witnessed the slaughter of their mothers and family by poachers. grieving can last several months, and they often lose the will to live. but as dame daphne sheldrick, founder of the orphanage, explains, a caretaker is charged with “persuading an elephant to live when it wants to die.”
approximately 35,000 elephants are killed by humans every year. with an estimated 350,000 elephants left in the whole continent of africa, they will be gone in the wild within ten years.
cbc’s the nature of things did a program on the elephants and their caretakers. you can foster an elephant with the david sheldrick wildlife trust online here. for more on the emotional lives of elephants, as well as the david sheldrick wildlife trust and other human efforts to save the animals, check out these posts
So the caption on the post stated that these two were total strangers, whose babies looked just alike, shared the same birthday and allegedly they live a block apart. What conclusions can you guys draw? Coincidence or a rolling stone situation?
