My illustrated vision for a Vogue Africa cover if it was a real publication. What do you think? 🖤❤️💙💛🧡
20 years ago, Aaliyah hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with Try Again. The Grammy nominated song was the first ever to reach #1 based solely on the strength of radio airplay. Plus, that Iconic video look with the crystal bra, matching choker & leather pants is unmatched!! 😍🖤
Shades of BLACK 🖤
My page is a form of escapism. A way to escape to MY artistic & fashion focused wonderland where I often escape to myself when I create. It’s a beautiful way that I can distract myself from the chaos that goes on so frequently in the world. I don’t usually make political statements with my art, or use my social media to share much of my personal life, as I like to keep the focus on my work & career. However, I am very aware that art is powerful & I also realise how influential I am as a black artist/designer. With so much going on in the world right now, especially the racism that my people go through on a daily basis, it is important to stand up & make a statement with my art, & if I can use my talent & following to help make a difference in the world, (& make a fashion statement while I’m at it) then I will. #BlackLivesMatter #BlackLivesAlwaysMatterWhenItsNotTrending #BLM #BlackArt

A huge thank you to Barbie & Mattel for sending me wave 2 of the Star Wars X Barbie doll collection. I love that these are a high fashion & modern take on the characters, so I decided to create illustrations of the dolls in this wave. Rey, Stormtrooper, C-3PO & Chewbacca. Check out more pics of the dolls on my Insta stories

Grace Jones as Helen Strangé in the 1992 movie Boomerang. Her character used to scare me when I saw this film on tv as a kid (especially that fragrance ad scene) but I find it hilarious now lol. Wow what a look she was serving though!!
Aaliyah’s first single We Need A Resolution from her third & final album was released 19 years ago. Here are some illustrations I’ve done over the years inspired by the iconic looks in the video.
Coming up with fun fashion doll ideas. Inspired by the iconic Bratz of course (the blueprint for modern day fashion dolls & a brand I’ve designed for) + Y2K styling. What would you guys call these dolls?
