It’s been too long since I drew one of my OTPs and I just simply adore the fantasy au so much. Huge crushes and cute habits equal these babies UwU. God I love them so much, they make me feel so soft and they can be both cute and badass. Like how can I not love them
“Back so soon?” says Midoriya, hands fitted into gloves too large for him, jumpsuit stained with grease and graphite. His smile is as bright as the sunflowers in his hair, oddly ethereal in the fluorescent light.
This is how he usually sees him. Snippets of time, breaks in between classes – never too long, never a full day, despite his need to be close. Closer.
Eijirou had never wanted to spend his time on another person as much as he wanted to use it on Midoriya, and after two full years of knowing him, nothing much had changed.
“Sorry,” Weak to the sunlight of Midoriya’s presence, he smiles in return, unable to even look apologetic. “I – I was just uh, excited about the results of your experiment. Everything goin’ okay?”
“Unfortunately, the sample fabrics would be arriving tomorrow at the latest. So I don’t know anything yet! But I promise, as soon as I get them, I’ll have your costume delivered to you in no time!”
The sunflowers in his hair bobs minutely as he moves, dials of different sizes swaying against the green of his hair. Such a useless quirk, to grow flowers in your hair. Bakugou, who had introduced Midoriya to him, called him Deku. This is Deku, my childhood friend. Eijirou had balked at the rude nickname until Midoriya smiled and told him it doesn’t mean anything but a reminder to do better; to be better.
Eijirou was awestruck at such an unyielding outlook. Naturally, it morphed into admiration – he had always been appreciative of passion, of drive, and for someone whose quirk is for mere aesthetics, Midoriya sure aimed high.
Then, after a while, his admiration went deeper still.
“Thanks man,” He says, and idles uselessly by a workstation. “I’m really looking forward to it.”
Three feet away, Midoriya takes off his too-large gloves and makes his way over to him. “Me too! I hope everything works out. When it comes, you can test it out during hero training!”
Everything feels hotter when he’s close. Eijirou watches as the space between them diminishes, Midoriya’s red clunky shoes thumping with every step. “Yeah,” He manages to say. “Yeah, that’s a good idea.”
“I wish I could watch you train! Do you think I’d be allowed to? I’ve also made a new version of Uraraka’s hero suit and I really want to see how it fares compared to the last one!”
Just the thought of that is enough to make his heart race twice as hard. What if he makes a fool of himself in front of him? What if Midoriya realizes just how large the power margin his classmates have over him? Clearly, a hardening quirk has nothing on someone who has, say, an ice and fire quirk or an explosion quirk…
“I don’t think Aizawa would mind,” He forces himself to say, with a smile to go with it. “You have a free period during our hero training, right?”
“Yeah!” Midoriya says, delighted for some reason. “I’ll come, for sure. Oh, crap – I forgot, I need to show you something–”
Darting back to his worktable, he pulls a drawer open and rummages around for a few seconds before exclaiming a triumphant “Aha!”
Midoriya pulls out a hoodie. It’s black and plain and nothing special, until he flips it onto its side and shows him the print at the front.
Red Riot’s logo. His logo.
“The engineer working for Fatgum is a brother of my senior, so when I heard that – that, um – that they’ve been planning some merch for you, I just had to get my hands on it,” The stuttering doesn’t deter him, though Midoriya looks more embarrassed as he goes. “I hope you don’t mind! I love this design; look, it has charms at the end of the drawstring. Though you’ve probably seen this already…”
When he holds them up, Eijirou sees a red metal ‘R’ on each string. Huh.
To be quite honest, it completely escaped his mind that his merch was in the works.
“I wanted to tell you before I started wearing it,” Midoriya confesses, fidgeting with the fabric. “If that’s okay?”
“Oh,” Eijirou says, out of breath all of a sudden. “Yeah! Of course. Of course you can.”
Midoriya beams. The flowers in his hair seems to bloom a little more than before. “Thanks, Kirishima.”
“All of your All Might hoodies must be in your hamper, huh,” Eijirou chuckles a little, trying to wrap his head around this, of Midoriya, choosing to wear the merch of a lesser hero. He hasn’t even debuted yet; the merch is supposed to be in preparation for that.
“Not really,” says Midoriya, without shame, “I just want to support one of my most favourite heroes. You’re one of the best out there, Kiri.”
Eijirou feels his face heat, so he laughs, to help himself feel less like passing out. “Thanks, man. I’ll – When it’s done and decided, the rest of my merch, I’ll give you one of each.”
“Really? Yes! Thank you, Kirishima!”
The thing is, he’ll never be number one in the hero ranking. Eijirou knows what he can and what he can’t do, knows that there’s always gonna be someone more powerful, more skilled than him.
But this, he thinks, being one of Midoriya’s best – it’s more than enough.

KiriDeku Week Day II: Dreams /
Sunflower/ Sunshine (Atlas)
I wrote a little story to go with this one, but if you don’t feel like reading it, here’s some quick context for the visual-
Basically, Midoriya can’t sleep, goes down to make tea, sees Kirishima who’s awake from a nightmare, they talk it out, they hug, and they fall asleep on the couch together, the end. :’D
