“okay well people watched a show that depicts [cartoonishly evil behavior ] and didn’t do [cartoonishly evil behavior], so people can consume and write media that subtly to outright glorifies [heinous but common act] and it won’t normalize or affect their perception of that act at all” do you guys have any depth perception like at all
clear eye clouded mind by nada surf reminds me of hiravias so much. yeah they’re unrelated, the song came out years before pillars of eternity, but look at this:
read those lines and tell me they don’t make you think of him leaving his clan after the stelgaer attack
and this bit, those first two lines remind me of galawain trying to make him “stronger” without any apparent regard for his feelings or safety(galawain being “the stars” and indifferent to hiravias’ reading of his traumatizing sign). following that thought, the third and fourth either read as galawain accepting his decision to worship wael or just the idea of him independently finding comfort in the enigmatic god and their teachings(or just him finding comfort in the unanswerable question of why shit turned out the way it did).
really appreciate that vatnir’s body has sores, bandages, whatever the hell’s going on with his stomach. i fully expected his model to just be pale and maybe have a few ribs showing. it’s a nice touch.
still can’t believe obsidian gave their token Pretty Elf Wizard a dissociative disorder and explored the concept. he discusses how that stems from childhood trauma, how he was taught to hide his alter iselmyr, how he’s dismissed by medical professionals. and his alter doesn’t go away! she sticks around! everyone loves her! genuinely don’t understand why a company made this writing decision! it couldn’t have helped sales in any way! i love it but i don’t understand!
How many incarcerated people actually need to be rehabilitated, really? How many people just need a decent income, or better quality of life overall, or steady childcare, or to not be punished for made-up crimes?
American culture is so self-righteous and vindictive. We make up arbitrary rules and then destroy people’s lives when they don’t follow them. And then we have the gall to situate the problem in the rule-breakers and not in the system we’ve built? If it weren’t obviously about money and power it would be totally unhinged. As it is, it’s just vile.
thinking about growing out my hair. love the visual of braiding it while talking to people. glancing down at my hands to avoid eye contact. coyly hiding my face behind my hair. the optics here are great.
projected too hard on a little video game man and now i’ve decided to give this whole “living” thing another chance
i wish hiravias was a companion in pillars of eternity ii. he’d love visiting new islands, and the Anything That Moves energy between hiravias/serafen and hiravias/tekēhu would be off the charts.
this is the saddest fucking explanation for serafen not being a full romance option. i thought he’d be like “sorry captain i just can’t be tied down” not “i’m fundamentally broken”.
absolutely delighted by the fact that these wonderfully feral catboys show at least some emotion through their ears
actually between this and one of the mods being an active dsmp fan i think we should collectively stop sucking this blog’s dick
[ID: 1. a post by @/urfaveisunfuckable. it’s a photo of lindsay ellis on the “fuckable” pride flag, and it’s captioned “Lindsay Ellis from the best video essays on YouTube is fuckable! I’ve been watching her content for 8 years. if you try to argue with me on this i Will cry

Reminder that Indigenous People’s Day is on Monday!
Remember to show your support by posting about it!! Let us see your support! Let us know you care and haven’t forgotten us!!
You can also do that by:
- donating to indigenous charities & causes
- shopping at indigenous businesses (our jewelery is gorgeous and it’s ABSOLUTELY ok for you to wear if bought from Indigenous ppl)
- educating yourself about the Indigenous cultures around you
- donating to Indigenous people
- supporting the landback movement
- Don’t forget our southern cousins either, they were the first of us to feel the affects of Columbus’s many abuses
- Bring attention to the ongoing affects of colonization so that we have support when we make and demand better!
I wanna add that if you’re Indigenous put your v*nmo, c@shapp, pa¥Pal, whatever in the notes. Drop your shops, orgs, and petitions that need boosting and support 💕
Poor ndn (Modoc/Hupa) here:
I wish I could find the big-ass list I compiled once of artisans/native food sellers (I’m not indigenous, but everybody on the list was).
Running Strong ( https://indianyouth.org/, it’s based on Pine Ridge and they have inter-community things with a bunch of other tribes/bands/Nations so if you want to support a specific project you can.)
Dig Deep ( https://www.digdeep.org/) Basically they’re on this list because while it’s not their only project, a big part of their “everybody deserves clean water” mission involves getting people in Dinetah that clean water. Their first water truck driver’s niece is now their field coordinator and they did wells for her entire 400-ish people hometown as a Christmas surprise one year. https://www.digdeep.org/shop (everything from $4 stickers from a Dine/Shawnee artist to $275-329 authentic Pendleton blankets to “sponsor part/all of a well” depending on your budget.)
In memory of @baapi-makwa, https://red clifffish.com/ (site says they aren’t quite up and running yet but plan to be soon for fresh Lake Superior fish and authentic apparel). Also, he did the logo for Red Cliff’s tribal clinic which could maybe use some cash/other assistance given that although they do have casinos and such, they were also at 11.8% positive for COVID not that long ago and were on lockdown for basically forever. https://redcliffhealth.org/contact-us/ (I don’t know any other artists from there, though).
(Basically a big list of resources for indigenous folks in the Seattle area. The two links are artisans affiliated with Chief Seattle Club.)
people are like “if you put crabs in a bucket they can’t escape because they keep pulling each other back in, this is called crab bucket mentality and describes why people don’t help each other” and never acknowledge that crabs do not naturally occur in buckets, a human with more power had to put them there
ALSO the crabs arent acting with any kind of malicious intent, theyre not thinking “oh no youre coming down with me” theyre thinking “pinch pinch pinch whats going on right now” its insane to extrapolate a moral point about humans from their behavior
