Just a quick note, since I noticed it while I was looking over my followers.
If it wasn’t already obvious; TERFs, Radfems, Neo-Nazis, Pedophiles (yes, including ephebophiles 😒), and exclusionists are not welcome here, and are definitely not welcome to use my “handcrafted” art. (The other ones aren’t mine, so I don’t have control over them.)
This is meant be a welcoming community meant to spread positivity, and those groups go against that.
Since this is a side blog, I am not completely sure if blocking people does anything for this, but I will block people nonetheless.
June 6, 2021 - Native activists tore down the statue of
Egerton Ryerson, one of the founders of the genocidal Canadian residential school system, and beheaded it.
Protesters, including survivors of the residential school system, were demonstrating at Toronto’s Ryerson University to honor the 215 murdered indigenous children whose remains were found buried at Kamloops Indian Residential School in British Columbia last month.
June 14, 1966 - After cops kill a construction worker during a protest the day before, Dutch construction workers and their supporters take to the streets in Amsterdam. They march to the headquarters of the right-wing newspaper de Telegraaf (who were nazi collaborators during the war) and attack it, because the newspaper printed the lie from the police that the construction worker died of a heart attack. Today De Telegraaf are still shit right-wingers spreading lies, they should have burned the whole building down (and Dutch cops are still murderers). [video]

Good article on the resistance in Cali, Colombia, against the far-right government.
The neighborhood police mini-station at Puerto Resistencia has been converted into a public library and adorned with art and murals by artists who support the movement. Near the precinct, an older woman cooks a massive pot of stew, which she distributes to anyone who wanders by.
Juan-Diego stands with a shield made from a construction sign in the center of the plaza, surveying a bunker made from improvised materials that serves as a supply depot. It is stocked with bottles of water, rocks and various first aid supplies. His face is hidden by a red shirt that he wears wrapped around his face.
“This government is corrupt. They’re thieves,” he says. “And they’re murderers. Voting will never change that. They’d never allow it. And so the people are in the streets. There’s no other way to get rid of the ratas con corbatas (rats in business suits).”
A good documentary on Puerto Resistencia, la Primera Linea and the situation in Colombia in general. Warning: contains a lot of blood, injuries, deaths and police brutality.
Because human rights organizations and journalists are not allowed to enter West Papua. and because of the Indonesian suppression of free speech and the press the West Papuan struggle for independence is one of the lesser known such struggles. Few people know or care about the human rights abuses and suppression of the indigenous Papuan population by Indonesia, and in the case of the Netherlands I would say this is especially shameful.
After Indonesia gained independence from the Netherlands it also claimed West Papua with the promise to allow them a referendum later on about independence. This referendum was held in 1969 and was a complete sham, but was still recognized by the UN. The KNPB or the West Papuan National Committee is the peaceful branch of the West Papuan liberation movement. Many of the leading KNPB members have been murdered by Indonesia. The West Papuan National Liberation Army is the organization engaged in armed struggle against the Indonesian occupiers.
In this documentary undercover Al-Jazeera journalists visit with the leader of the KNPB to pay some much needed attention to their struggle. Watch the documentary here: [video]
May 9, 2021 - One of the West Papuan independence leaders interviewed for this documentary, Victor Yeimo, has now been arrested by Indonesia and accused of treason.
Free Victor Yeimo, and Free West Papua! Papua Merdeka!
April 15, 2021 - Student protesters fought riot police in Thessaloniki, Greece. They were protesting an education law from the right-wing government that would allow police back on to university grounds.
Police have been banned from entering universities in remembrance of the massacre of 23 students at the hands of police at Athens polytechnic university on November 17, 1973, which took place under the US-supported far-right military junta government.[video]/[video]
May 22, 2021 - Anti-government protesters battle riot police in Bogotá, Colombia. At least 60 protesters have been murdered by police and right-wing militias since the protests against the right-wing government began 25 days earlier. [video]/[video]/[video]
May 6, 2021 - Mapuche separatists torched logging trucks in occupied Wallmapu. [video]
In the Mapuche territory, in the south of Chile, a beautiful coordinated attack conducted in full day made great noise on Thursday, May 6, 2021 in the region of Araucanía. It is nothing less than eight incendiary attacks in less than 6 hours, from noon to 6 pm, against no less than 26 machines of all types (trucks, carriers, skidders) of the forest industry, which destroys and operates the forests of the territory, and is the subject of a fierce opposition by certain Mapuche groups.
In the midst of the cries of various state stooges who are now asking to reinstate the state of siege in the region or to involve the army to protect the loggers-in particular because a cop who came to stop the attacks took a shot in his bulletproof vest-, this attack was claimed by the RESISTENCIA WEICHAN AUKA MAPU (WAP) group, which left a message on one of the eight sites taken for target:
“Freedom For Mapuche political prisoners and those of revolt. Down with the forest industry, gravel industry, landlords, hydroelectric dams. Down with the Yanaconas. Marichiweu.” This last word, a well-known battle cry in Chile, means in Mapuche “ten and a thousand times we will defeat them”. Yanaconas is a pejorative term that refers to the “traitors”, or the Mapuche working for the forest industry.
15/17 May, 2021 - Protesters against the police and the right-wing Colombian government burned the townhalls in Jamundí and La Plata, while people in Yumbo burned down a police station after two protesters were shot dead by the cops. [video]/[video]
Mujeres Libres, or Free Women, was an anarchist women’s organization in Spain that aimed to empower working class women. It was initiated in 1936 by Lucía Sánchez Saornil, Mercedes Comaposada and Amparo Poch y Gascón and had approximately 30,000 members.
In revolutionary Spain of the 1930s, many anarchist women were angry with what they viewed as persistent sexism amongst anarchist men and their marginalized status within a movement that ostensibly sought to abolish domination and hierarchy. Conditions for Spanish women before the Spanish revolution were oppressive, in the sense that they could be forced into arranged marriages without their consent and single women were not allowed to leave their homes without a male chaperone. Furthermore, working conditions were difficult for women because their salaries were half what male workers received. The limited rights allowed to women were only offered to middle and upper class women, and not offered at all to the working class.
The organization was based on the idea of a “double struggle” for women’s liberation and social revolution and argued that the two objectives were equally important and should be pursued in parallel.

April 2021 - The Kurdish HPG (People’s Defence Forces) used a drone to bomb the Turkish “Kirya Reş Police Station“ outpost in Kurdistan.
The HPG Press Office statement said: “Our Martyr Delal Air Defense Forces carried out an air attack targeting the Kîrya Reş outpost belonging to the invading Turkish army in April 2021 within the framework of the "Dem Dema Azadiyê Ye” (Time for Freedom) initiative.
