[image description: two pictures. The first picture is of three people in a church, sitting in pews one behind the other. The man in front is smiling obliviously, and the text over him reads, “guards trying to stop zuko and co’s escape.” The brunette woman directly behind him is pointing a gun at the back of his head, and the text on her says, “mai.” The blonde woman behind her is holding a gun to the brunette woman’s head; she is labelled “azula.” In the second picture, the three people are shown from a balcony behind them. There is a gunman on the balcony pointing his weapon at the blonde woman (”azula.”). This last gunman is labelled “ty lee.” end description]
Bocetos! Siempre tengo hambre de ellas dos teniendo tiempo de cariño de mamá a hija. Sé que esto no pasa aparentemente entre ellas dos, pero déjenme ser con mis dibujos. :c
So, it just occurred to me that ‘banyangrove tree,’ as referenced in the Swamp in Avatar, may mean ‘hybrid between banyan and mangrove trees,’ not just ‘banyan tree that has grown so large it’s started its own grove of connected trees.’
And I have a lot of thoughts on what it could mean for the swamp but my favorite is that there was, initially hundreds of probably thousands of years ago, no swamp there. The coast was potentially further back toward the mountains, and there was probably a small snowmelt river/stream that ran down into the ocean, and a lil baby floaty banyangrove seed caught on the sand, and eventually grew into THE banyangrove tree, and as it grew, it kept collecting sediment between its roots and sprouting more trees and eventually trapped enough sand to extend the land to the size of the swamp as we know it, bc that’s a thing mangroves do. They trap sediment and make new, wet land over millennia, and I can only assume than the roots of a banyan tree would help with that. And that’s why the roots can see the whole world- they’re not only connected to the tree itself, but water everywhere bc that’s where the seed was born. It’s why the swampbenders can so easily manipulate the vines. And estuaries like that are considered the nurseries of the ocean, some of the most productive and life-giving zones, so it makes sense that it would be a lot more spiritual of a place as well. And since the tree’s life extends so far back, and the life it gives extends so far forward, the swamp can show you the past, present, and future.
lol i realize everyone will probably scroll past this because it’s not kyalin related but recently i’ve been in my ursa feels and idk i just wanted to draw her laying outside at night and then i didn’t quite finish it but am positing anyway
