It’s amazing what children were in the beta version. The child just grew up and already wants to fight. My characters in the game do not have such desires at all :(
It turns out Maxis made all the mesh and texture resources needed for accessory earmuffs and mittens and then just… didn’t make them? The earmuffs got reused as part of some outerwear-only hairstyles, but I think the mittens were completely lost until now.
These come in two versions, accessories or jewelry. The accessory versions are categorized for everyday and outerwear. The jewelry versions of the earmuffs are binned as eyebrow rings and the mittens are binned as right-hand bracelets. They’re available for toddler to elder, with the exception of the blue earmuffs, which are teen to elder. Everything’s pinned to and requires seasons.
The earmuffs do clip a bit with poofier hairs - it was even worse before I got the idea to nab the modified earmuff meshes from those earmuff hairs I mentioned and making them override the accessory earmuff meshes. Now I think it looks acceptable on the majority of hairstyles I’d expect it to work with. If you want the modified mesh that’s what’s in “midgethetree_SSNearmuffs-meshreplacement”. The mittens also may clip/look weird with some animations, as you can see in the preview pic, but overall it’s not that bad IMO.
I also highly recommend if you want the accessories version of the mittens to first get the jewelry version, go into CAS and load all the mitten thumbnails, and then exit the game and swap in the accessories version.
I'm sorry, I didn't explain myself right :(( I was asking for the wall design that can be seen in many images from the beta, for example the Anderson and Marshall houses both have the living area painting with this orange design in the beta teaser images, I wasn't able to find this especific wall anywhere :((
Answer:
Hello!
Do you mean orange wallpaper on this screenshot?
Similar wallpaper can be done in Homecrafter, if you take the base from the “paint” section (on the walls). There is a similar pale yellow, you can twist the color, and make a border.
Here are files for toddler beta hair. I only need to said that this mesh is default replacement for Melodie feather toddler mesh. If someone know the way to make new mesh can do it free. I hope you will enjoy this hair.
TS2 LOST AND FOUND - BASEGAME CLASSICAL WALL-MOUNTED SPEAKER
Here’s a functional classical speaker found in basegame files. It’s found under Electronics/Misc and it’s cloned from its NL counterpart (see the third screenshot for a comparison between them). Its cost is 400 simoleons. The file’s compressorized. You can download HeartDeco’s BG compatible table version here
This file will replace all the original UI poses by this neutral pose. Very practical if the Apartment Life “feature” (when your Sims’ portrait is constantly changing) annoys you. All ages + Zombies, Vampires and Werewolves.
Just put the file in your Downloads folder. Refresh your Sims’ portrait with the mirror or simply wait for the change to happen.
Fun Fact: Ghosts can break the Lamps in case they are angry, is there proof of that?
I have stories from players, so I think this is true.
First story from our Russian Betahunters forum thread “The Sims 2 Development History” (История Разработки Симс 2):
And don’t say … my alarm clocks were often broken, the TV set fell a couple of times. And I found out about the breaking of the lamps, because Darling constantly literally hates Dirk in me, she still broke the lamp in my NL. But in order to free the thief … this is exactly.
And in this video, you can see, at 2:30, the animation of the lamp breaking. But it breaks itself:
She just flew around the house and “jumped” into objects. The lamp then crashed. But I don’t remember how she looked. Although after the video of Anfisonyka, I remember that she kind of looked like this. I really won’t say for sure …
It took me a while to realize that the lamp was broken. Darlene constantly jumped into it and she flew up. Dirk couldn’t fall asleep (because when the ghost is in the room, the Sims can’t sleep), I sent him to sleep on the sofa near the TV. Then she returned to the room and saw that some kind of garbage was strange with the lamp, she did not look like herself, only the base was sticking out or something like that, I had to buy a new one.
This poor sad boy… I truly love his character so much. </3
Just imagine being neglected by your mother, get taken away by social workers, get a whole new family whom you are strangers with, only to have them not only neglect you, but abuse you also
I do have a theory about him, which is that the playable Nervous Subject in The Sims 2, obviously is not the real Nervous Subject, as he is not the same as the one in Olive’s memories
We also know that he is found as a ghost in Bella Goth’s mansion in The Sims 2 on PSP, he was supposedly killed by one of the machines in the Beakers’ house
However, what if the Nervous Subject who is found as a ghost in Bella’s Mansion in TS2 on PSP, is the real Nervous Subject, in other words, the same as the one in Olive Specter’s memories?
Perhaps the Beakers cloned him in order to continue experimenting on him
But that makes me think further…I see a pattern in The Sims 2 concerning the clones
Have you ever thought of how none of the clones are complete duplicates? They always have slightly different features
So, it’s kind of weird that there are clones of some Sims; why would you make a duplicate? That just seems unnecessary. Unless there was no other way to do so.
What probably happened during the making of the game, is that some corruptions of errors started to appear which the developers didn’t know how to fix. For example, Bella Goth. They probably couldn’t move the real Bella to Strangetown, because the game wouldn’t understand what happens and the corruption would start. Same goes for Nervous Subject; the makers didn’t know how to properly move Nervous from the Nigmos to the Beaker family. So they didn’t. They probably just made him again (poorly) and put him in the Beaker family.
The Sims 2 is a fantastic game and an amazing sequel. It has pretty good writing and deep lore, but sadly, that is also where it went wrong. It was already a very ambitious game with the amount of improvements and the lore, but they focussed too much on these. If they had more coders and more time, the game would be perfect.
The post I made about the search function on this site being so garbage has a ton of notes and is way too long for me to want to add on, so I’ll just leave a good clear example on how to find any post on this site as long as its still on someone’s blog
the first part is there to force google to look for the individual post page, rather than just the blog it’s on. if you’ve ever looked up a post and clicked a link only to find a blog that doesn’t have the post on it, it’s because google indexed that blog when that post was on the first page.
second part tells google that the results must have whatever words you put in quotes. they can be in any order, and if you want it to search for words in a specific order you.would.separate.them.like.this.
Digging around the game files I found a bunch of textures that weren’t being used in-game: four recolors of a basegame table, one carpet to go with the teen style stuff elite set, and four accented sidings to go with the rest of the M&G sidings. Everything’s repositoried, so the walls require M&G and the floor requires TSS.
