idk if i have the courage to continue The Well of Ascension 😭 i see a lot of friends saying they had the worst book hang-overs after finishing the cosmere books I JUST—
He’s a funny character to me. Stormlight Archive is about characters struggling and uphill to be better people. And here comes Moash going, “Nah, who needs that.” And he just decides to roll down hill. Like he doesn’t even need to roll down hill. He could stand in place or walk sideways but no. He’s dedicated to rolling down this hill. That much determination is kinda endearing for me.
I also love that in-universe no one likes him. Like people on both sides just go Moash/Vyre (derogatory).
Like I still hope he gets a good kick in the pants and roasted by more characters but he’s an enjoyable antagonist.
Sigzil takes everything Kal does and does it more huh
Oh Kal’s strange for knowing how to read glyphs? Sigzil can read far more than that
Kal joined the army instead of taking the exams to study in Karbranth? Sigzil took his country’s exams and failed all of them outright
Kal went to jail one time and Hoid shows up to surprise him with a moral? Sigzil’s done that three times and had to actually call the man up to bail him out.
this got over 100 notes and i think i need to share some gems of tags
AU where in Oathbringer, Kaladin saves
Elhokar’s life and they get away and it becomes like Pedro Pascal in Wonder
Woman 1984 where Elhokar is constantly trying to prove to his son that he is a
hero like Kaladin. Not realizing that all his son wants to do is spend time
with him. And it all climaxes in Elhokar fucking up and endangering Gavinor.
Then at the end, just like in WW84, Elhokar
reunites with Gavinor once the day is saved and he admits to his son that he’s
not a hero but he’s a pretty messed up loser but he hopes that one day he can
make Gavinor proud enough to forgive him. Then Gav response with “You don’t
need to make my proud, I already love you, daddy. ‘Cause you’re my dad.”
I just miss Elhokar so much and wish he could have been there for Gav!!!
Duchess Khrissalla. Honestly, I will question everyone’s taste who doesn’t have at least a Mild crush on her. 🕵🏾♀️ Also, yes…. yes I guess…. I’m slowly going… back to posting fan art. I wanna draw one or two portraits like this to return to the fan art flow (and to practice skin colors). And then, let’s see!
So I’m on chapter 2 of hero of ages. Here are my predictions.
-Sazed is the hero of ages (in not Sazed then Elend)
-Ham lives
-Marsh goes to kill someone from the crew under ruins control (at least I think it’s ruin controlling him) but breaks out of it just long enough to let them kill him.
-Ellend dies, quickly followed by Vin (let’s be honest of one dies they both do)
-Kell is the mist spirit
-I’m going to cry at least twice during this book
-Breeze will snap out of his… whatever it is he was in when WoA ended to help when something big goes down
-we get to meet Hams family (that’s more of a hope but ya know)
-Spook runs off to do something dangerous to make up for not telling Ellend and Vin the truth
Twice? That’s low balling it. Especially for a Sanderson book.
Irredeemable Media continues to be the most laughable concept in history.
As a fan of the majority of these, I am incredibly curious about what different dimension this person is from.
Btw I love how most of these are like…funny media for teens or kids and then suddenly out of the blue OP hits you with a psychological horror manwha and a fucked up erotic horror game.
Hetalia is an adult anime mocking history. It’s not meant for kids to learn from and it avoids mocking heavy situations.
People need to understand that not everything is meant to agree with your morals or beliefs. Sometimes people just want to explore dark topics. The only way to safely explore dark topics is to use fiction.
And, also, not everything they come across online is meant for them. The anime about war and tragedy? That’s not going to vibe with the kid who loves MLP, and that’s okay. What’s not okay is when they turn around and decide no one else can like this anime either.
How many times do we have to say, guys? Just becuase something is IN a story, doesn’t mean the story CONDONES it.
I’m trying to remember the homophobia in Yuri on Ice, don’t they get married in Barcelona or something? I remember going to school and seeing people reenacting the engagement irl in the spot shown in the anime. Aren’t the two main characters openly gay?
i saw some comments on tiktok where people were talking bout how they found tumblr too hard to use and part of it being that there was no lack of dates so “what if you reblog or like something from five years ago?!”
buddy… we have posts circulating still from 2011, its literally just how it is
A lot of time when I paint and draw fanart I usually do it the way I used to draw when I was not a professional artist: I don’t use as much reference and don’t plan my work with a thousand thumbnails and color or value variations.
That’s why I mostly end up with an image that is less strong, but I enjoy this straightforward approach to painting and drawing.
So… if I’m going to start on Sanderson’s cosmere series where should I start?
Most of the series are loosely connected with references that you probably won’t find unless you do a second read through. Even then, some of them are really hard to find. Most people start off with either the Mistborn trilogy (Mistborn, Well of Ascension, Hero of Ages) or Warbreaker. Elantris is also a good starting point but it’s Brandon’s first published novel so for some it’s hit or miss.
With that said: Do not read Stormlight Archive first. That is where a lot of stuff from the books mentioned above come in and it’s just better to have read all the Cosmere before this.
After much insistence from my father and several of her children, my mother is *finally* reading WoK. She said to me today “What’s with those quotes at the beginning of the chapters? They’re meaningless!” And I’m just sitting there like…
