can you tell us about x's past as a guarding thingy?
There has been some retconning to X’s backstory, so she’s the only drone built for “guarding”. It didn’t follow through because most of the kids freaked out when they were brought before the 9 foot tall monster robot, and many of the adults thought that X wasn’t a suitable caregiver/supervisor for a bunch of small, fragile children, nor did they feel comfortable about her wandering around the facility and watching them.
That maybe hurt X’s feelings a little more than she anticipated, and might play into why she hardly shows her more aggressive side unless necessary.
The only kid who ever approached her was the daughter of one of the technicians, who seemed to think that having a giant monster robot lady for a babysitter was the coolest thing ever. She gave X a flower once, and pestered X with questions she couldn’t answer at the time because she was hooked up to wires and shut down. She still remembers that kid, and was sad when she stopped showing up.
7’s a fairly new character, a more polished version of a one-off OC I thought up after watching a music video. She’s a mechanical milkshake, a hybrid of all three generations of murder drones, and armed with an experimental “acid” that functions like liquid nitrogen. While she’s not as strong as the other drones, 7 makes up for it with being incredibly fast and agile, so she’s better at dodging and wearing out her opponents than actual combat. She shares a base with 0’s squad, but isn’t exactly a member, so she goes out and wanders around most of the time. She runs really cold, so she doesn’t have to consume oil as often.
Quick question: What would happen if R and X switched places? Like, R is the one to be left to rot and have hellsites forcefully put in her head and X is the one chosen for repurposing. How would that affect them and their relationship, as well as the events on Copper 9?
R would probably hate X even more, and while both get repurposed, she’d feel angry that X gets to be the shining poster child while she’s hooked up to wires and treated like a lab rat. X would feel bad for her but not know what to do, thus widening the gap between them. She doesn’t want to be the poster girl, she just wants her friend back, but if she turns on the company, they’ll just discard her again, leaving R without anyone.
It’s a “between a a rock and a hard place” situation. X could die again and leave R by herself, or behave so R does excessively suffer, but still lose her best friend. No matter what timeline or alternatives, their relationship was always doomed.
I've noticed that your new drone ocs (the assassin ones) all have numbers as designations. Any chance 7's had something to do with them in the past?
The Assassination Drones are not mine, they belong to @edibletrees2 , but 7 does have history with them, specifically 0 and his group.
7 was sent as an experiment, and lived with 0 and his group during that time. She wasn’t a true member, and was kind of just there. Left behind on hunts, not included in drone religion nonsense, etc. She didn’t mind, though, she found all this human worship stuff kind of silly, and maybe a little disturbing.
Some of @edibletrees2 ‘s OCs from our Murder Drones AU. The top 3 are Assassination Drones, the newest generation of murder drones sent out by the company (and might’ve formed a religious robot cult that worships the humans as gods oops), while the three girls on the bottom are anomalies that don’t fit in with any of the current generations.
0- The leader of said cult, and the first Assassination Drones to be built. He used to be a sweet guy, but broke under the pressure and expectations and might’ve gone off his shits. He’s one of the main villains of our AU, and might have a… thing for X. Nasty bastard man. Bad robot dad.
F- 0’s ex and the ex-second-in-command of the cult. A mechanical soup of every drone generation to date, and armed with the deadliest nanite acid around. She’s my favorite. A badass good girl and T and Y’s “mom”.
T- An experiment to try and build a drone that could age like a human, but the company gave up after 7 years, leaving T permanently stuck as a 7-year old (her intellect and mind advances like a human’s, though). She’s got a haunted doll aesthetic going on, and is possessed by a little girl named Tiana.
Y- Another age experiment like T, but they made her a little older this time. She is technically an older version of T, but takes on the serial designation “Y” once she starts forging her own identity.
12- The leader of an all-girl Assassination Drone squad, and a girlboss. 12 is also a villainess in our AU, and a Very Scary Lady™ who knows how to pull the strings to get what she wants, when she wants it. There’s a lot of tension between her and 0.
13 (my beloved)- The medic/mechanic of 0’s squad, and 0’s ex-best friend before he went crazy. He’s just tired of doing bad things for his boss. Maybe something is going on between him and F and honestly good for them.
Nexter is definitely the kind of bot who just wants to give everyone good vibes including her new murder drone sister.
Nexter is the total opposite of Uzi, and tries to be as approachable as possible while repressing anything he thinks would make everyone feel weird, even if they are his true interests (Wholesome boi anime lover). Unfortunately, being the son in a high-standing family (and a disappointment of one, apparently) makes making friends difficult, and he spends a lot of his time being a very sweet, polite and painfully lonely kid. He brings the railgun out of impulse because he worked really hard on it and he really wants to show it to someone, and it’s kinda sad that no one is impressed. He talked himself up about it in the mirror before school and everything, guys, at least pretend to be impressed! If you want to, that is…
It’s a bit difficult to get past the walls U builds around herself, but like weeds, Nexter has a way of growing on you when you give him the chance. He wears his heart on his sleeve and is so stupidly genuine and sweet and while U initially sees Nexter as just a roommate, that starts getting through to her. She doesn’t need to be on-guard and aggressive all the time around him, and Nexter’s too nice to give her a reason to be snappy with him. It’s nice. Almost.
How many wholesome Moments have N and Uzi had in your AU
Uzi/N isn’t canon in this AU but I sprinkle in as many crumbs as I can (because I need to feed myself somehow), and their friendship is really sweet and wholesome so yeah there’s a lot of fun bestie shenanigans
I watched the scene where V tosses Thad around and thought “yeah, there’s definitely some cat programmed in there”, hence my silly headcanon that these human-sized murder machines have been programmed with artificial instincts of real-life predatory animals, mainly felines and birds of prey (and maybe dragonflies). They can track, wear down and even predict the moves of their prey with unparalleled efficiency, and seem to “play” with their prey, wearing them down so they can’t fight back. I also really like when technology takes inspiration from nature, so there’s also that.
An unexpected side-effect of this choice of programming is that the murder drones can purr and will rub their faces against the victims recipients of their affection. This is often an involuntary reaction to feeling safe and secure, and N is probably going to be very embarrassed when Uzi points it out. It’s not a proud moment for whoever’s involved, but it happens. Just an inevitable price to pay for the best hunting instincts in the natural (and artificial) world.
#murder drones#doodles#my art #my favorite brand of Uzi/N no matter what dynamic it’s in is goofy wholesomeness #this is more on the shippy side because I am weak but it can be interpreted as platonic
“jealousy is so disgusting” “anger is so toxic” did u know? these are emotions every human has
I’ve always been a fan of an analogy I heard once. Your emotions are like one of the lights on your car’s dash. When one of them turns on, it means you need to check under the hood and fix them. It’s not bad that the light turned on, per se, and it doesn’t always mean something is broken. But what IS toxic, dangerous, and likely to break something, is when you let that light stay on, pretending it’s normal, until that braking fluid finally fails and you crash into someone, or your engine fails completely.
Feel jealous. Feel anger.
Just don’t let it fester. You need to look inside of yourself, find out why you’re feeling the way you are, and bring yourself to a satisfied, stable state of mind. You can look at philosophy, meditation/introspection, religion, or actual therapy, or at least talking to someone about it. You’ll find you’re much more content and happy when you do something about those feelings, and come to some sort of conclusion or resolution.
That is a wonderful way of looking at it, thankyou. Makes me feel better about myself when I DO feel that way.
I am not going to digitally draw these idiots anytime soon (or maybe not, who knows) but here are my murder drones oc’s
(@limeinaltime and I have an au together and we have a whole plot line for it, and we came up with two new Drone generations. My oc’s are mainly from the generation we’ve deemed the Assassination Drones, who have a hell lot more angel-related imagery but a lot more assholes. Their serial designations are also numbers! )
The woman is Serial Designation 12, a Girlboss™️ and a villain. She is the invisible hand behind most of the not-so-good stuff that happens in this au, and she is a maniacal genius and I promise she is a cool villain.
The man is Serial Designation 13. (He is not associated with 12 that much those are just the numbers I chose) He’s like the only good guy in the Assassination Drone generation, and he’s a medic for the other bad guy, 0’s, squad. I’ll explain more about him when I have the time but yeah he’s chill and has Dad Vibes™️ so I hope y’all like him :)
Forgot to mention this in my previous ask, but I hope your taking care of yourself and not burning yourself out. I've heard it's not fun.
Thank you for your concern. It’s admittedly a little overwhelming to suddenly be flooded with asks, but I’m glad you all like my silly death robot content. Past fandom-related things have made content creation a little harder for me, but I’m doing my best and am trying to just let myself self-indulge on my weird monster bots and goofy, wholesome, platonic/romantic limbo content involving our favorite goth girl and wholesome murder boi.
i wonder how R would react to remembering her first reaction with X
R does actually remember everything about her past and she and X do basically reunite post-revival, but she-say it with me, folks- ✨represses✨ the good moments she’s had with X as she thinks that those memories will make her weak
She knows what she is, and how others see her, and she just Cannot Be Bothered™. You see her as a bitch? A thot? A girlboss (derogatory), if you will? That’s fine, now move along, she’s got Worker Drones to kill.
I find it sad that R didnt remeber the first interaction with X i wonder if X is a little bit Upset that someone who was well a little bit softer back then is now just a complete Bitch
Even if their relationship has always been a dumpster fire riddled with red flags, X did care about R. Being pushed back into the containment room with all the other dead Internecion Drones tore her apart, but spending literal years in the darkness with nothing but her thoughts healed that wound (or so X says). After being revived and re-purposed, she was heartbroken when she was placed in a room introduced to her “new” teammate.
Maybe time as a super-powered, un-killable machine went to R’s head and made her even worse, but at least before she seemed to sort-of care for X. Now this new version of her only wants to make it to the top, no matter how many heads have to roll, and X is powerless to stop her. Literally. R has the raw power of an Internecion Drone, the intelligence and cunning (and sick-as-hell weapons) of a Disassembly Drone and has become cutthroat, sadistic and worst of all, really good at emotionally manipulating/ striking genuine fear into others.
X could kill her, but R could just as easily do the same. X is stronger and wiser, but lacks the resolve, and while R is slightly weaker, she has more bloodlust, skill and savagery than every Disassembly Drone combined. They are too evenly-matched for either to do anything but stew in a silent, slowly-overheating conflict, waiting for the other to pull the trigger.
Don’t blame yourself, X, you never stood a chance, anyway.
I wonder if there was a time were R did something really stupid and X just started Laughing because of it
X was the first drone to ever be built, and R was built shortly after. X got to meet her new companion when the company decided to activate R for a test run, and to see how X would function with another one of her generation. They activated R, she stood up and immediately stumbled because omg new ability to move my limbs on my own I was not ready for this.
Maybe X manages a soft chuckle, but she helps R get used to this new physical agency. R pretends to be embarrassed, but she doesn’t fight back as X leads her around the room until she can stand and walk on her own.
This is the only semi-healthy interaction these two have, in both of their existences together.
And then they’re cast down with the rest of the Internecion Drones, R is chosen to be repurposed and leaves X to rot, and X is chosen shortly after where she wakes up in a body that doesn’t feel as much like her own as it used to, and is partnered up with a familiar face that either doesn’t recognize/remember her, or just doesn’t care. It doesn’t matter. The pain is still the same.
I really like this gif because Stitch does that little squinty thing that animals do when they’re really happy and relaxed and you can tell that he’s having such a superb time playing that little ukulele
“Three old, repurposed robots born from scientific and technological atrocities JC Jenson fights tooth and nail to keep under wraps. Either way, they’re weird as hell, so it’s best not to go near them. I hear one of them bites.”
