Letters Home (#1)
A click is heard and the screen flashes on, showing Shamra’s face. She smiles lightly when she notices it on.
“Hey mom, hey dad. I uh, hope you got our note. Anyway, we made it!” She shifts the camera a little and pans around in a circle, showing her surroundings. “Alesha would be here, but she’s bathing or something. I don’t get it, there’s like, no running water or soap or anything, so I wouldn’t really call it ‘bathing’, but whatever, she’s naked in a river at the moment.”
There’s s short pause before she continues.
“I miss you. Or, we, miss you, I guess I should say. Pandora’s nothing like Epitaph. I just hope you guys can understand why we left. We felt stuck. We had so many questions that you wouldn’t answer, so we went out looking ourselves. Please don’t be mad at us. Or at least don’t be mad at Alesha.”
“We’ll try to keep sending you these letters, and hopefully we’ll get to visit you again sometime, so don’t worry about us. Love you.”
She blows a kiss at the screen.
The screen crackles to black as the message ends.
