lgbtq community experiences online have become so sectarian as if gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, queer people, and trans people are all completely different creatures w unmeshable experiences and unshared histories and it’s not! true! it’s completely mythical and i see no strength or healing in this narrative!
The experiences of everyone whose sex, gender, orientation, attraction, presentation, or relationships differ from the “societal norms” are bound together whether we decide to act like it or not. We are united in that we flout the same set of societal expectations even if we are going against them in different ways.
We will be liberated together or obliterated together! None of us are free until all of us are!
I think we should rewrite math course descriptions as clickbait headlines, I feel like that would actually be more honest somehow

All math is just setting a starting point, you just gotta be chill dude
there was actually a big kerfuffle about were math begins in the 1800’s
From the dawn of intelligence, mankind has used numbers. the most basic set of these is the naturals. add and subtract these and you get the integers. divide and multiply them, and you get rationals. fill in the spaces between them and you get the reals.
BUT, said some late 1800’s scholars, how do we define the natural numbers? Two factions arose. Logicism and Realism. Logicist believe math can be based on nothing but logic and without using terms such as ‘numbers’ in basic definitions. Realists took the view that the laws and objects of math were grounded in reality.
I dunno what’s going on tonight but I’ve had more than one individual give me the sweatin like a sinner in church line and I don’t know how to tell yall, but I’m built different.
