Oh so delicately, Raven settles on the ground beside the other, cloak
enveloping lithe form as she lands. Concern turned curious gaze fixates
on him, rather i n q u i s i t i v e as to why he appeared so…was it intrigued
with the quality ( ? ), perhaps mere properties, of the ground, as if he’s never
touched solid Earth before. The premise of such did not totally alarm her;
after all, he had been falling freely from the sky just…seconds ago…
She then regards his gratitude with an ( almost ) immediate, ❝No problem.❞,
though contrary to her curiosity, her tone remains nonchalant as ever. As
he redirects his attention to her, the empath finds herself suddenly gazing
at the sky, eyes completely averted. There was something unnerving about
exchanging glances with STRANGERS, no matter how harmless they seemed.
❝Anyway, I, uh, take it that happens often.❞
A pause. ❝You know…hanging ten in the sky?❞
“Um. Beg your pardon?” He’d never heard the phrase hanging ten. It sounded like an odd phrase, but he put it down to merely one of the many peculiarities of this other world. “Oh. You mean falling && breaking the pavement of cities.” He realized after a rather embarrassed moment of confusion. He wonders why she’s staring into the sky, && decides that perhaps she’s looking for where he fell from.
“I am, actually. I’ve fallen from higher places without injury before.” He shrugs, nonchalant. “It’s a characteristic many of the people in my homeland have. Gravity is just another inconvenience in life.” He offers her a half smile, standing from his seated position to bow to her.
“My name is Syd. It’s an honor to make your acquaintance.”
