hello!!! i have some thoughts (by the way, sorry if there are any grammatical mistakes, english is not my first language).
so i've been watching for two week now i think, people, from producers to people that just love music, reacting to walls and louis. i've noticed this:
- people enjoy so much but truly so much kill my mind, and any cover with that rock style, like mr. brightside, seven and beautiful war which is a ballad but still is a rock ballad. 90% of the people i've watched reacting to him think his voice fits so well in that kind of genre, which he does. and again so many of them have said that they think/expect the next album to have more of a rock vibe, that means louis has somehow established that he enjoys that style, and people are convinced that he's going to go more into it (myself included, with the artists he's been talking about lately i think it's his way of hinting that's kind of the style that's coming), if he truly does this i think it will go truly well.
-now having mentioned this style, i think it's important to mention the public that would consume this, millenials-generation x (and his huge fanbase), people in their 20's are the ones that would love this, all the people that have reacted to him are from that age. mainly the ones who lived through the 90's, they love this style and definitely would love this kind of music back (it's important to notice that lot of today's music have 70-80's vibes but there's not that 90's influence going around right now, so he would be one of the few that tries to bring it back, and if his team gives him good promotion, it could go amazingly due to that there's not that many competion in the genre right now).
-everyone has a soft spot for louis. so, i've noticed that all these reactors have a soft spot for him, they get excited whenever they listen to him (when listening to something 1D related), they love his voice, they truly enjoy him, some have mentioned that they've bought tickets for his 2021 tour after listening to walls, a producer has said he'd love to work with him, some only follow louis on social media, louis despite everything, has a reputation of a really loveable person and that's key to his future image.
-noel gallagher approved walls to have similar chords to one of his songs, that was big, that means he has respect for the musician louis is becoming and his music and probably more artists of that line could support him in the future.
-also, this has nothing to do with my main point but i just want to mention it: everyone i've watched loves walls, there's truly not been a bad critic from them, so i think lt2 will have even better critcs (from the general public, i don't know about actual music critics, i don't trust them to be honest).
so concluding i think that if louis decides to somehow rebrand himself (like harry did with fine line), truly show his own style, organizes his next album a little better (i love walls so much but some songs even though i love them, kind of mess up the main vibe the album tries to give) and most importantly: gets a team that does not sabotage him, that really wants the best for him, i believe his career could sky rocket.
Great observations, thank you for putting it all down on words!
I agree with all the above, and note that Louis Tomlinson may be the only person to have positive reactions from both Gallaghers, despite what Noel said about 1D. So it’s pretty impressive and funny… like there is a soft spot for the Donny lad.
(I know a Harrie will remind me that they might both like Harry and blah blah blah they mention Harry’s album is really good etc. But it’s not the same, no one solicited a quote from Noel about Louis, the bts connections are very different, songwriting credits and videographer and invitations to premiers and social connections to their children… all of this is very different.) (Louis’ ties are a bit subterranean and I like that.)
