Childcare has taught me again and again that 99% of kids have zero problems relating to fictional little kids who may not look exactly like they do, as long as they recognize them as a fellow little kid.
Adults, however, seem to have a lot of problems wrapping their heads around how quickly/easily their white four-year-old will identify with a fictional black girl.
Children of color have literally been doing it for centuries. Why do we cater to whiteness so much 😭
Some ya’ll who are younger need to google Frank Serpico and read about his time in the NYPD and what the cops did to him and attempted to do to him up until the late 90′s. He literally had to go into hiding in Italy and Switzerland and multiple times people tried to kill him. He only came back to America after the mafia (who hated the NYPD a lot, obviously) said “you’re under our protection.”
Damn, NYPD is so bad, Mafia started protecting good cops
i’m just so tired lmao i’m legitimately out here incapable of doing anything
#my damn pandai inner monologue #why am i h e r e #one second at a time #but goddamn #if i fail at everything because i can't even try then what's the point #all i do is take naps and then say i'm tired #and idek if it's my fault #like maybe i'm just not trying enough rip #*sighs in still tired*
The only acceptable reason for this is if this character is actually a demon who seduces men and then eats them. [source]
who wrote this, expose him
my breasts are nicely separated. Completely divided, every year they move apart by half an inch.
My breasts are nicely separated though they still fight for custody of the children.
I,,a woman,,,am WiDeR LOweR dOwN
That was difficult to read.
My name is Ebony D'arkness Dementia Raven Way, and my breasts are nicely separated
OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT AND HOW ON EARTH DID IT GET PUBLISHED
You can always tell when it’s a man writing a description because they focus oddly on the breasts. There will always be something about breasts and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read historical or fantasy fiction and they talk about “her breasts hanging freely under her tunic” or what the fuck ever and it’s like…women don’t do that? We don’t describe ourselves by saying “I have blonde hair and blue eyes and my breasts hang freely under my tunic”. I kind of feel like we should counter by awkwardly mentioning all male character’s balls in their description. It’s kind of in the same vein.
“I have auburn hair and hazel eyes and my copious nicely separated balls hangs freely under my breeches”
G E T W I D E R L O W E R D O W N
“To get back to my body”
This is the first time I saw this post with art and I am in tears.
Reblogging again because IT HAS BEEN ILLUSTRATED NOW 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Do any other american high schoolers have intense survivor’s guilt and trauma with school shootings even though they weren’t at your school?
Like. A laser tag place opened geared towards teenagers and it got no business, we tried to enjoy it but when someone pointed a laser machine gun at me and I instinctively dropped behind the nearest wall and reached to turn off my phone I cried, I wasn’t the only one. The announcements system turns on at an unexpected time and everyone holds their breath until they say something besides “locks, lights, out of sight,” nobody even jokingly pops chip bags anymore, a door slammed really loud during a class change and everyone dropped and ran. Everyone cries during drills, even the toughest ranch kids. Every drill comes with a full day of teachers crying and telling us that they love us all so much and will die for us, and every kid in every class looking around wondering who would I die for? Who would die for me? You walk to the bathroom and wonder every second if it happens right now, where will I go? You test supply closet doors to see which ones are unlocked, you memorize which furniture in the teachers’ lounge your English teacher says is light enough to barricade a door with. The fire alarm goes off and nobody moves, instead you wait for gunshots—it a trap? You stand with a group of freshmen and realize that you’re the oldest, you know you’ll have to die for them. You forget your ID tag and worry that now the police won’t be able to tell your parents if you’re safe, or not safe. Your stats teacher has a baseball bat by the door, your math teacher keeps a stapler under each desk to throw, your drama teacher asks who will be willing to stand by the non-locking door with the Shakespearean swords. Your yearbook teacher tells you don’t worry about breaking a camera because you heard about the kids who died holding them. You don’t use the bathroom during classes because you don’t want to be the only target to shoot at. You keep your phone on silent 24/7 because you worry the one time you forget will be when you get your whole US History class killed. You have a snap saved with your class schedule and school and full name to send in an instant to your internet friends so they know if you were on that wing, you have a note saved with the things you want your mom to know and the things you’re sorry for. At the age of 12 I was told I needed to know who I would die for and that it was okay if it was nobody, that was my decision to make. School shootings control us more than adults and non-Americans could possibly imagine and nobody moves to change anything unless we’re actively screaming for it.
Have you considered we’re too scared?
The absolute fuck. The fuck did I just read. This sounds like dystopian fiction. The fucking fuck.
It isn’t. This is 100% the reality of all American children - not the ones that live in bad neighborhoods, not the ones that make bad choices, ALL OF THEM.
Welcome to America.
This reminds me of a discussion we had in one of my classes the other day-
My professor was describing how everyone from her generation had the same nightmare of a nuke going off. In they dream they all saw the same mushroom cloud and everything. She said that she didn’t think my generation had a dream like that; one that everyone shared and had
For a while none of us could disagree with her. Until this popped up. I raised my hand and mentioned that everyone I knew had an active shooter dream at one point or another. And Every. Single. Person. Nodded. All of us had that dream. All of us.
Pretty telling, huh?
The mere notion that highschool children might have survivor’s guilt is sickening
you’re not bad with money you’re just living in a society that underpays you, overcharges you, then gaslights you into feeling guilty for needing to eat
well. I also have poor impulse control and spend most of my time on the internet where countless businesses are trying to get me to buy their goods through extremely niche targeted advertising that I am almost powerless to resist
so u admit that ure aware that capitalism purposefully tries to cater highly specific ads even going as far as to buy ur personal data all in an attempt to get u to buy things w the little disposable income u have. nd that they go out of their way to brainwash u into wanting the products theyre selling, making brands into personalities so that u see corporations as ppl nd get addicted to the brief serotonin rush of spending bc that’s one of the view ways to feel fleeting happiness bc the system saps the joy out of life? so how is it the individual’s fault that theyre trapped in this system?
My dad was eating pistachios so I reached my hand out and he just started peeling them and giving them to me. Then suddenly went “I really hope you find someone who loves you a lot” and I went “enough to peel my pistachios for me?” And he laughed and said “yeah exactly” before carrying on giving me more
The Grammys really said to artists of color you can write the most beautiful albums in existence but there’s always gonna be some mediocre white boy who will release a terrible, trashy song objectifying women who will get the nomination instead of you
Y’all need to leave Justin Bieber alone, for real.
The fact that me saying “a mediocre white boy releasing a trashy misogynistic song” made you think of him YET you’re defending him is the funniest thing that happened to me all day
civilization had a rapid decline following the eruption of a volcanic island close to Crete where they had settled. The eruption was so large its effects were felt all the way in China.
Me: Oh yeah. The Mediterranean had a lot of problems with volcanoes every few thousand years or so. So why was this one special?
What the island looks like today:
They had several extremely advanced items for the time period (3000 BC to c.
BC) which other civilizations had not developed yet for thousands of years (such as a working plumbing system). They had a writing system we have no idea how to read as no writing system evolved from it and it’s not related to any of the other writing systems we do understand (ancient Greek, Ancient Egyptian etc etc)
They had a extremely peaceful nation from what we can gather, as none of their art showed soldiers or military until near the end of their civilization, and instead showed scenes of agriculture, games, every day life and things along those lines instead.
“tiddies out” civilization as I like to call it due to the common dress of the women as shown in almost all art.
(men are drawn with darker skin than women)
I heard somewhere that they were possibly a Matriarchal society but I need to do research on that as I’m not entirely comfortable with declaring that as possibly true just because I heard 1 person talk about it. I want to see some sources first.
But yeah. Many people believe the Minoans were the basis for the Atlantis story.
Plato wrote the story of Atlantis in 360 BC and based his Dialogues are supposedly quoting Solon who went to Egyp between 580BC and 590BC and Solon said he got the information about Atlantis from the Egyptian Records.
The Minoan Civilization, like I said, was between
3000 BC to c.
BC. So by the time Plato wrote his dialogue on Atlantis, which is our only Primary source, the Minoan civilization was something that had died more than a thousand years ago. Meaning this was ancient history to the people of ancient history.
this post was so educational then the youtube anime art slapped my ass and called me gucci
is anyone else like……. exhausted? just way too tired? mentally and physically? and you look at other people your age who seem to be doing fine and you feel so dysfunctional and broken because normal adult tasks and responsibilities just feel way too overwhelming and you can’t cope and
