can we get an f in the chat for their sacrifice 😔
Good question, also no that won’t help.
shitty MS Paint 3 minutes doodle, nto entirely accurate: When you have your pinky hooked on the “bottom” edge of the phone for the extra security so it doesn’t slide out of your hand that easily, you’re wreaking damage on your hand, since the pinky is extremely askew from it’s resting position. You might have noticed that when you hold your phone like that for long time it begins to hurt, like when you are gripping a pen too tightly for example.
Green lines - the fingers are going their natural way. Red line - the pinky is way off, that’s bad.
Me: Oh, good thing I never-
Me, looking down at hand: By talos this can’t be happening
hey everybody this is Fake News and you can go back to holding your phone normally.
Are you aware of LaVey's salad dressing based homosexuality test
can’t believe nobody had taken efebos as url before me >:}
“Victorian dress” costumes are so fucking funny. Victoria was queen for six decades. In two hundred years party city is going to sell “second elizabethan era” costumes with 2000s low-rise jeans and 80s hair and a 50s blouse call it “historical costume 20th century Y2K Elizabethan hippie cold war vintage girl sexy” and I am ready
This is the only tiktok you’ll ever need, I’ve made about 13 of these and I’m not stopping anytime soon
I’m reblogging again because I did it myself and added pictures for those who have trouble learning from the video.
First take a standard rectangular piece of paper (I used one from a small notebook which I ripped out then cut the holes off)
Then fold in half touching the shorter side to the opposite shorter side.
Fold again making the new shorter side touch the other new shorter side
I did this one more time, but this time I unfolded it right after to get back to where it was only folded twice. It should have left a crease in the paper.
Using this crease, fold the corners up alongside it to look like this
This are also going to be unfolded, but this time you’re going to push in alongside the triangular folds you just made and undid.
Doing this once will result in this
Hold tight because tumblr won’t let me add more pictures. I’ll reblog will the rest of the instructions
Do the other side of you haven’t already to get this
You’ll open these newly created flap to change which parts are touching
Leaving you with this
Then you start pulling the top “tabs” down
Do both sides to get the final folded form
Decorate as desired.
Hope this helps!
Ratio for the rectangle size is 2:3
So 6 cm by 9cm
I uh, lost an evening:
Thanatos knows that I hecking love cute origami, and moths, so really, what was I supposed to do, scroll past and not take the opportunity to make butterfly and moth page markers???
I think most non-Jews don’t know/understand American synagogues are under siege, having to pay huge amounts for security, both to have armed guards, but also installing bulletproof windows and doors and putting up anti-ramming barriers. It’s getting really bad out there and I never see anyone who isn’t Jewish talking about it.
if i didnt live in germany, i would 10/10 train to be a security guard just so i could protect people like this
i would do it cheap and well
that is my deepest desire-to protect those poor people that never hurt anyone
While the Jewish population of Germany is much smaller than the US, the antisemitism is effecting German Jews too
in 2019 a lone gunman tried to force his way inside a synagogue in Halle during Yom Kippur services, thankfully he failed to get inside
just a few months ago German police arrested 4 people planning an attack on a synagogue in Hagen, the attack was (again) planned for Yom Kippur
there are a lot more moments over the last 6-7 years, which for such a tiny population, is very shocking.
This is true but less accurate for Squid Game, which was meant to be a critique of capitalism and US imperialism, not some sort of vague anti consumerism shit like WALL-E.
I feel like Fisher’s thesis still applies because Squid Game is still not putting forward a possible future without capitalism. Fisher isn’t saying that works that exhibit capitalist realism are necessarily bad or don’t have anything important to say, just that they reflect a worldview incapable of conceiving a world without capitalism
me whenever i see a piece of media that doesnt put forward a possible future without capitalism
i forgot heat was the name of a movie and i had my finger on the block button
When one thinks about “ancient” Native American civilizations and ruins… the thing is that… most of them, they weren’t ancient. The Inca were not fully conquered by the Spanish until 1572… for reference, the Mona Lisa was painted in 1502 and Martin Luther made the 95 Theses in 1517.. the “ancient” Aztec Empire was younger than the university of Oxford founded in the 11th century, Montezuma lived at the same time than Leonardo Da Vinci… There are castles that are younger than Machu Picchu, those cities were inhabited by millions just a few centuries ago, and some (Cuzco, México), many actually, are still inhabited today. People speak about the Ancient Maya as if it was some mysterious civilization that was lost, and while it was past its prime at the time of European conquest, the Maya still had city-states and were living in the same areas they live today.
There are still millions of people, right now, who speak Quechua, Nahuatl, and Maya in all their dialects, and I’m just talking about the three most well-known civilizations here… there are millions of Native Americans who still speak their languages and practice their culture and beliefs alive, both thriving and struggling today.
Talking about the “Ancient Inca” or “Ancient Aztecs” makes as much sense as talking about the “Ancient Dutch” or the “Ancient Swedes”, and it’s another way of erasing them, saying that they just aren’t around anymore just like say the Sumerians, or that they just weren’t relevant to world history. They were contemporaries to modernity and they’re still alive today.
You can talk about the Ancient Olmecs or Ancient Chavín though. Because the Inca and the Aztecs are relatively “modern” but their cultures were just the latest from a cycle of civilizations stretching millenia before Christ.
yesterday night (24th of oct) a young romani man was killed by greek officers in a car chase (the officers fired 38 shots in total) and another minor was fatally injured as well. this is not an isolated incident of police violence against roma population in eastern europe. a similar thing happened in czech republic on 21st june this year where a czech police officer knelt on the neck of a young rroma man until he suffocated to death. in may last year an autistic rroma boy was found dead in his jail cell in central serbia where he was placed after he stole cake, the cause of death “unknown”.
roma are the most numerous victims of police violence in eastern europe and the killings and crimes against them almost always getting close to zero proper news coverage & sympathy from the general public. ee’s long and ugly history of anti-roma racism is ever so present.
the worst part about knowing a lot of weird gross facts about the ancient world is that im physically incapable of stopping myself from sharing them with other people at inopportune times
someone: *is eating a salad*
me: hey so in egyptian mythology-
I will pretty much instantly distrust a fellow leftist if they paint the enemy as being ugly (’all terfs have bad hair’, ‘all far-right bros are fat people with neck beards’, etc). It shows me they haven’t done some of the most basic work of un-linking appearance from character, which leaves them open to a vast array of bigoted tropes, from fatphobia, ableism and classism to homophobia, transphobia antisemitism and racism, because who we see as ‘attractive’ or looking ‘wholesome’ and who we assume to look ‘untrustworthy’ or villainous’ has been coded by all these things.
Why is this YouTube preview so homoerotic
I love it. Bens comfortable dominant seated position. Steve shyly showing the goods, backed up against the table. Crowders in his casuals and a pair of boxers, while Ben keeps it confidently together and well dressed, from the chinos to the button up to his kippah. You just know he’s wearing a belt. He’s in executive control. But you can see in his face that Crowder’s offering him something that he’s willing to give up a little control for. The magnum ice cream looking logo in the middle is a bonus.
