Kind of sad that all these characters people affectionately (or lustfully) refer to as their hideous trash gremlins and stuff are always guys. Where’s THAT diversity win, huh?? Where’s all the female characters who were meant to be completely unappealing and wretched but people end up just thinking it’s hot??? I’m not talking about some weak shit like the big tiddy anime girl has messy hair and bags under her eyes, I mean like some horrifying uncanny valley mutant muppet troll but it’s a girl one. She’d just have to be a major villain in a majorly successful piece of media in which she is funny but also does something threatening and scary at some point. That’s what will get people. That’s when people who like ladies will say “aww rats now I wish I was married to some weird little awful thing. What happened.”
So many people saying “what about x?” or “thats y!” in the replies to this when x and y are still just… “conventional” skinny women with the similar personalities to trash gremlins and maybe some scars. Momo is the exception but the Resi 8 women??? Almost uniformly “would be remarkably conventionally attractive if not for ~scary thing~”. Vriska is (in canon) literally just a skinny white girl who’d call you slurs in front of your back (If you disagree yer just worse at interpreting Homestuck than I am, sorry!). None of these hold a candle to some of the rat fucks I can think of in terms of weird monster men out there.
We must accept the fact that the ugly girl rep out there is *painfully* limited compared to the amount of weird meatloaf-looking men we could find, and do something to *change* that, rather than simply find the mediocre substitutes “society” hands us and pretend that’s the ideal for nasty horrendous women.
IMO the disney villains fandom sleeps on Madam Mim, the OG Queen of Hearts (not the burton one, her only “flaw” is having a weirdly big head, she doesn’t count), and Yzma because they all have great potential to be the “weird little gremlin” lady rep the internet is lacking
Mim ESPECIALLY. if ever there was a “weird little gremlin” lady in animation it’s her
(OOC): People do actually lust after Madam Mim, it’s just… not her normal form they go after. Which is unfortunate. (I think she’s cute I would date her). As for Yzma, considering the actress who voiced her, she could be considered attractive.
Uhh, anyway, I candidate the Groke for trash gremlin girl that OP wants, but that’s just me who really likes her.
fried rice is objectively the world’s most perfect food
Us tumblrinas are getting older soon we’re gonna see posts like “bananas were 30 cents a pound at the market today!” and everyone’s gonna be like WOW! Such a steal!
that’s already what we talk about
which market op
Tumblr is the only site I know of where you can make a post like “me and my girlfriend love to drink water” and someone will reblog it and tag it with some shit that is so divorced from the actual post like “frunkus and grinky except instead of drink water they love to play jenga at girgalon’s tower”
It’s my grandpa’s birthday next week and he said “I don’t want to be 85” and my grandmother, his wife of 59 and a half years, said “well your only alternative is to die”, I can’t believe how affectionate they are
I was having lunch with them today and my grandpa started throwing napkins at my grandmother, and she balled it up and looked all set to throw it back but then she put it down and said “I will not throw it because I was brought up properly, you were dragged” she has spent ¾ of her life with this man
I thought I’d let you know how they’ve been getting on during lockdown, so here’s some of the FaceTime conversation from today:
“My goodness, the way technology is advancing - in 20 years we’ll be able to shake hands through the screen!”
“Rex, I don’t think we’ll be here in 20 years.”
“Well you can make your own plans, I shall only be 109.”
What’s up friends, it’s been 3 years, grandpa has made it to 88 and they’ve been married 62.5 years! Please enjoy another instalment:
Grandpa: the new packs are.. it’s.. what is it. It self destructs
Grandma : biodegradable, Rex.
YOU KNOW WHAT DAY IT IS
Guys, we were so wrong.
We’ve been misinterpreting horse plinko all along.
It’s a three-dimensional scene, but depicted without depth perspective. The round things are actually hay bales in a field leading off into the distance and the horse is weaving between them as it moves towards us, with the fire in the foreground.
Thank you, ‘sperm flagellar control’ side of 'horse plinko lore’ tumblr
I cannot, cannot stress enough how difficult this sort of interaction is to find outside Tumblr.
Nobody has ever been on Adamowiczs level for ANYTHING. Go look at his Skyrim art.
nobody has ever been on adamowiczs level about vaults so its incredible that bethesda used his art to ruin vaults forever
imagine vaults with buldings built into the walls and ceilings of massive chambers
imagine homeless people in a vault
I mean FUCK, look at this shit, the guy didn’t know how NOT to go hard:
Some more Nord Tomb stuff. Fuck you Todd, your minimalism philosophy is shit and so are you!
The amazingness that is Lady Eboshi. It’s such an amazing, complex haracter. If you see her as opposition to San and the nature- she is evil. But when you look at how she cares about her fellow humans, inspiring women to stand up for themselves, empowering them, taking care of the ill, the discarted by the society, it becomes clear she is a multidimentional character that personifies the human struggle to better ourselves, even though sometimes at the cost of something very precious. To challenge the gods, you need guts!
trans people do not owe you their backstory. they do not owe you their deadname, their pre-transition pictures, their coming out story, their heartache. trans people who are stealth are not “tricking” you, trans people who are open about it are not “faking”. there is no one trans experience, no specific narrative trans people have to fit.
also, if you’re trans, i love you! remember to drink some water today.
Pray for Tonga 😭
Thinking of all my Pacific friends and whānau right now, sending so much love 😭💔💔💔 please message me if you find a link we can donate to (not the Red Cross or any missionary agencies) and I’ll add some as soon as they are available
Guys Tonga is underwater. The tsunami swept through everywhere, the highest point on the main island of Tongatapu is just 28 meters above sea level. All power and communications have been cut off so we don’t even know what’s going on anymore, but at last report the sky is black and raining ash and acid rain. The water is undrinkable because of the acid. People can’t breathe because of the ash. The entire island of ‘Atata has gone underwater 😭
The explosion shook homes in Alaska, over 9500 km away. The tsunami has gone through the entire Pacific but nowhere has been affected as badly as Tonga. And no one outside the Pacific seems to be talking about it 😥
A trustworthy donation link!!!
And an update:
[Image: a tweet from Anaseini Ulakai @fineutuvai reading “Latest Update Tsunami warning still in force, volcanic activities at ease. PM announced that gas stations, bakeries and shops will be open from 10am-2pm for ppl to get necessities. Settlements along Vuna Road from Sopu to Fasi & Maufanga heavily damaged. Listen. Listen. Most of you have likely never tasted genuine soy sauce as it has historically been made. The vast majority of the entire world population has never actually tasted soy sauce. Because soy sauce takes years of fermentation in a giant custom made squeezable barrel and there’s only a very few remaining people who make traditional soy sauce. Only one single company atm afaik makes the special barrels anymore that are required to do it. They make them by order.
Like, can you fucking imagine what a loss it would be if just a single person stopped doing this? If that singular company simply no longer makes the barrel. If those sporadic soy makers moved on or lost their business. Can you even begin to imagine? You can’t. There is an entire taste that you have never experienced for yourself because it is dying. And one day it will die and you will never taste it and neither will anyone else ever again.
Saffron crocuses are dying because of climate change. Because of the rising temperatures and drier climates in Iran, the crocuses aren’t growing as well, and of course by harvesting the saffron stamens, that prevents the crocuses from being able to go to seed. The balance of this incredibly important historic ingredient is being undone out of circumstances beyond the crocus farmers’ control. One day there is a very real chance that a staple ingredient in food across the entirety of the Middle East will no longer exist. No more shirini keshmeshi; no more yakhni pulao; no more mandi djaj. An entire taste will be erased from the world, and all these foods, all these proofs of humanity, of the connections we have with our past and our ancestors, it will be severed as simply as if by a cutting knife.
How can I even begin to cope with the depths of that grief? How do you live with the knowledge that these things could very likely die in your lifetime? That you could witness the atrophying of entire swathes of history and culture happen in realtime, because of greed, because of callous uncaring for others?
How can I explain to anyone why every time I cook with saffron it feels as if I am saying goodbye to someone I love, for the ones who will come after me? Where do I begin to describe to the children who come next the food that our ancestors have eaten for countless generations will never exist for them in the way they were intended to be?
How do I understand my grief when it is based in the knowledge that eventually, it would be impossible to understand?
“we were born alone & we die alone” you delivered yourself during birth? built all the roofs that have ever given you shelter? sown the wheat in your bread?? weaved the clothes on your back??? wrote all the books youve ever read and the music youve ever listened to????? who made the literal bed youre going to die in - you, all alone?
I straight up work at an old watermill as the village blacksmith and yes, please. Like, I love the groups of kids coming through, but so often everything goes over their heads and they just excited because they can relate it to minecraft.
But we need to bring high school kids out, do hands on shit where I don’t have to worry about tiny kids getting hurt. College students, talk about history and metallurgy on a level they’re gonna understand. Working adults, show them that there’s life outside the office as a volunteer with cool hobbies. Seniors, because straight up a lot of them in this area had grandparents who did this stuff and I want to learn from their stories. Literally, field trips should be for everyone.
Dear PEQUEÑO Y GORDO here will be turning seven this year. I was wondering how they’re doing. Are they still gordo? Less pequeño?
From quick research I know that this was one of three sumatran tiger cubs born at the Chester Zoo in 2015, so this is either Jaya, Topan or their sister Kasarna. If it is Kasarna I found an update pic from her zoo’s Twitter from when she turned four! (The boys seem to have been moved elsewhere?)
Not so pequeño anymore, (but still an hint of gordo imo) Happy tiger year!
I found a more recent one of her from last year (also from the Chester Zoo’s Twitter)
EL TIGRE ES GORDO Y ENOJADO, Y ELLA ES GRANDE
