(Sorry, this is so late, I just came back from vacation yesterday and only now had time to sit down and reply! :3)
favourite colour: That’s so hard to say honestly! But I think I go with green, blue and violet tones especially! Also all the colors of Autumn <3
currently reading: Nothing currently, sadly :/ (But I have like ten One Piece chapters to catch up on! I’ve been a fan for more than ten years now!)
last song: According to my playlist, apparently “Moon” by Kid Francescoli (I tend to completely blend out what I’m listening to when I concentrate on smth else, so it’s always funny when I look at my playlist afterwards and it tells me that I’ve apparently listened to like five documentaries and the entirety of some bizarre avant garde movie soundtrack and don’t remember any of it 😂)
last movie: I have no idea what it was called and I only paid attention for like ten minutes but I think it was some very old action flick starring Sylvester Stallone and a really REALLY young Viggo Mortensen pre-LOTR with long blond hair, which was quite strange to look at. 😂
last series: I don’t know if this counts but I saw a bunch of episodes from a documentary series about the wildlife of Austria and I would’ve never kept watching this, if it hadn’t been 1am, I couldn’t sleep and the narrator’s voice was SO incredibly relaxing and soothing and just so pleasant to listen to, I couldn’t stop watching (
when your voice kink is too strong)
sweet, savory or spicy: Sweet! I have a little sweet tooth, I must admit.. Give me anything spicy tho and my stomach will protest for the rest of the day 😖
DA4 news Some good ice cream (the place I went on vacation had such good ice cream, I got me some like every day and I already miss it so much T_T)
tea or coffee: Honestly.. neither? 😂 I’d rather go with tea, but there are very few types I actually like (I feel you, vhenan) I’m also one of those weird adults that don’t drink coffee and I can’t tell you how many times people looked at me for this as if I came from another planet 😂 Tbh, I don’t really drink much aside from water.. I know, I’m weird and boring.
currently working on: Well, now that I’m back home I’m testing out some new gif editing things with photoshop, but I don’t know how it’ll turn out or if I’ll ever post it, sooo.. idk :D (I also have this one huge passion project Solas related, which has been in the work for.. a long time and I don’t know if I’ll ever finish it, at this point I’m just hoping I get it done before DA4 comes out but I won’t make any promises 😂)
I’m tagging… anyone who wants to do it! :D
So I can’t be the only person who abuses talk points? Which considering what your companions choose to talk causually about could look mighty odd to an outsider…
Also i’m gonna try to upload another comic every week or so for a while, instead of every 3 months!
Re your 'solas give up searching for the idol's tag, if i remember correctly he actually already got his hands on it in the current timeline
Hey there! :D Thank you for telling me, but I actually have read Tevinter Nights and I know you’re probably talking about Solas’ (or “the Bard’s”) tale in the last chapter! I’m just one of those people who believe that this story, much like his entire facade in this chapter, was actually entirely fabricated. 😂
Idk, even upon my first read, I thought that the random mention of countless familiar but also very random side characters in the beginning who somehow all happened to be present at this auction house seemed a little strange, to the point that I found it actually kind of hilarious. And even if we assume that him getting the idol was *not* the only part about this tale that actually happened, as the Assassin and the Mortalitasi point out at the end, there were a lot of other questionable things happening in that story.
Also, keep in mind that the reason why Solas attended this spy meeting personally was to get the information about what they believe to be his plan and how much they knew first hand. And if he already had the idol, why would he be so interested in hearing about its whereabouts then? (I know that *spoiler* he used the eluvian in the comic before to follow its path but maybe he just lost track of it at some point?) And I think, upon hearing them assuming that he needs the idol, it would just make sense that he would then want them to believe that he’s now in possession of it and “cannot be stopped”, as he puts it, so that they would drop all effort to find it before him.
It’s also noticable how, on the very last page of the book, when it kind of lists the bullet points of information from what Solas said and Charter is about to write down her report, it does not explicitly say “He has the idol” but rather just what it looks like, which suggests to me that she didn’t buy his story either. :D
Besides that, given how much emphasis the idol has gotten in what little promo/book/comic stuff we’ve seen.. I just think it would be weird if DA4 started out with Solas already having the idol and… that’s it. 😂 He’ll tear down the Veil and then we.. need to destroy the idol, maybe? Or maybe we need to steal it from him? 😂 (Or given that it can apparently also be used as a ritual blade, it will be the one weapon we need to strike down the *cough* real villain of this game because I don’t believe for one second that Solas will be the ultimate threat, going by everything we know so far, I think at least two of the Evanuris will be unleashed and then we will come to realize what doom Solas actually intended to prevent all these ages ago 😂). Or maybe it’s some sort of key? I mean, I at least wouldn’t want it to be just another MacGuffin.
Or, you know, I could be of course completely wrong about all of this and he has the idol now. 😂 At this point we just don’t know what role it’ll play other then it will be important, so I guess we just need to wait and see. 😁
Solas painted the frescoes for one purpose: so that the Inquisitor’s deeds would be remembered… correctly. He will not see their story twisted to become unrecognizable. He has lived that... and doesn’t wish that on anyone, even an Inquisitor he doesn’t respect. He knows the valor of History and how centuries erode it. And he doesn’t want that for the Inquisitor. And Skyhold’s foundations have endured. Whatever happens, Skyhold will remain. And our Inquisitor’s spirit and legacy, too.
The way the murals are constructed as well…not just paint, but pigment and plaster. Frescoes endure because they are literally bonded to the wall. The only way to destroy them would be to paint over them completely (which could then be scraped off later) or to knock down the walls of the rotunda.
He wanted this, beyond anything else, to survive.
🌟🌟beautiful person award! once you are given this award you're supposed to paste it in the asks of 8 people who deserve it. if you break the chain nothing happens, but it's sweet to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out 🌟🌟
Thank you so so much!! Right back at you! ❤❤❤❤ I’m trying to recover from a really bad sunburn right now but just reading this eases the pain so much! 😂 <333
EA PLAY LIVE
yeah I know we talked about it and all but..
I couldn’t miss it anyway (waited for Lost in Random) and when I saw the logo.. ahem.. let me say there actually was something about dragon age 👀
okay. that’s all. all I wanted to post ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Jeff Grubb: “Sources say Dragon Age 4 is expected to launch in 2023. We’ll probably start hearing about it a lot more in 2022.”
Jeff writing in GamesBeat/VentureBeat: “Dragon Age 4 is on track for a potential 2023 release”
[article quote] Sources familiar with the fantasy role-playing adventure confirm the game is on track for release in 2023. When I reached out to EA about the release date, a spokesperson says the company hasn’t announced the date and has no plans to share it yet.
Holding back during this EA Play is just about enabling the publisher to get the game into position to begin marketing it in earnest. That will likely start in 2022.
And what should we expect from the game itself? Well, don’t worry about EA trying to bring the connected, online live-service model to Dragon Age. BioWare is building the next Dragon Age as a single-player narrative adventure, just like the previous entries in the series. Of course, that doesn’t mean the games wouldn’t have any online multiplayer. That was one of the major features of Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Hey! Just got back from a long, nice summer vacation with little to no social media, so sorry for not having posted/replied to messages in a while, I’ll try to catch up! :D
So.. anything important happened that I’ve missed?
*looks at the calendar*
*realizes EA Play was, like, three days ago*
Anyway, what the ever loving hell is Tumblr Post+??
I love playing with a dwarf in Inquisition
someone’s always getting their head chopped
Yup 😂 A moment of silence for that one guy at BioWare who had to adjust all of the camera angles in the entire game after they decided like midway through development to make other races besides human an option as well 😂 (Which had to be a pain in the butt to do in the Frostbite engine which also wasn’t even made for third person RPGs, they basically had to build all this from the ground up and I just recall John Epler (DA dev on Twitter) mentioning that he never wants to be “the camera guy” again. 😂
But it still makes me chuckle every time I see it, especially since I usually have this mod installed that makes the camera zoom in on all the conversations outside of cutscenes, which also wasn’t exactly made for anyone but human or elf height Inquisitors, so what you end up with then is basically just “Booty Shot: The Game” and I’m just sitting here like ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
So on my search for some more interesting stuff to compare, I found some lines in ancient Elven from Trespasser!
I think it’s impressive how the pronunciation is so similar here, like you can barely tell the difference!
Also ancient Elven sounds very sexy and I need that to be like half of Solas’ dialogue in DA4, sorry Gareth! No but seriously, to deliver a fictional language like a supposed native speaker in a believable way while also conveying the right emotion is NOT easy and I think in all three versions, they actually did a great job here!
I just saw this on the Dragon Age Wiki:
- In every fight in Darktown, Anders will join in as an ally if he is not in the party and you lure the enemies to his clinic.
Anders is always in my party, no exception, so I never knew this. Next playthrough I’m trying it; that’s so sick!
If Isabela isn’t in your party and you start a fight in the Hanged Man, she’ll also help you out. I assume Varric does the same, but he’s always in my party so I’ve never had it happen to me. I’ve also had Sebastian run up two flights of stairs in the Chantry to help me because I accidentally summoned demons with the Evil Tome.
Very sexy of the the Kirkwall crew to still come to your aid out-of-party, ready and waiting to curbstop mfers for you on the sidelines like
Many thanks @blueheaded for suggesting the idea! :)
The more of Chuckles chuckling’s in this world the better! <3 Just like their voices in general though, these are so different from each other that I’m once again sitting here, asking myself HOW this is supposed to be the same person??
“It’s quiet here… I like it.”
In DA4, I hope we get flashbacks to Solas’s life in Elvhenan. I want to see what it was like, all shiny and magic, and not crumbled.
I hope we get to see younger Solas chilling with Wisdom and Purpose, and/or Mythal
ooooh yes, please, i want this.
I lowkey headcanon that Solas can like sense/feel the Anchor. It’s literally a manifestation of his own magic made real. It’s why he seems so unconcerned about Levallen when she is lost in the snow after Haven falls. He knows she’s alive because he can feel it through the Anchor.
It’s also why he so easily finds her in the Fade, like he does when you first arrive at Skyhold. Or how he knows when she is near in the final areas of Trespasser. He is connected to the Anchor, because it is born of his orb and, through it, is connected to the Inquisitor.
