diversity win! your friend survived the lab accident and is now something distinctly nonhuman
i’m never getting over the fact that romance as a genre, as the HIGHEST selling genre, exists largely because straight women fantasise about being loved and treated kindly by men and men constantly make fun of this because they think it’s just that unrealistic that they could cherish women and that women are stupid in the first place for wanting such an impossible thing
men also insist women are mysterious creatures and nobody could possibly know what they really want while billions of words have been published telling them exactly what to do.
I feel absolute rage when i call An Office and have to sit through a 5 minute recording telling me I can just use their website thanks!!! I can’t! Believe it or not I’m a child of the internet age who went on your website and it was shit!! Get me a human person!!!!
Actual photo of me getting increasingly more irate while shouting “REPRESENTATIVE!!!!!” at USCIS’ automated phone service.
I really think we need like… therapies and exit programs specific to abusive jobs. I think a lot of people get manipulated into staying at awful jobs because they believe that it’s the only way, that all jobs are like this, there are no options, and it can’t be so bad if ____. And you can get out of those situations on your own for sure, but I definitely think we need to approach employment like a relationship instead of an obligation.
I’m retaking the LSAT in three weeks and school starts back up in two…I should take advantage of this time and study as much as possible.
Fuck it, now is a great time to watch Portrait of a Lady on Fire for the first time.
Need your opinion on this
There’s an obvious issue with this methodology. Using TripAdvisor rather than Yelp is a good idea since TripAdvisor specifically will only capture opinions from people not living in each city (avoiding the potential issue of everyone just rating their own local BBQ spots highest). However, TripAdvisor data only captures the opinions of people who travel a lot; not only is this group different than the full US population (the Average BBQ Enjoyer doesn’t have frequent flier miles), they probably only visit certain areas of each city.
The idea that Newark, Miami, or Seattle have better BBQ than Kansas City or Memphis is absurd, it’s just that the best BBQ in those cities won’t be located in the areas that tourists and regular travelers frequent.
That said, Charlotte, NC making the top 5 proves this map isn’t totally false.
