To do instead of eating
Disclaimer: This is only for me and those who also struggle with emotional / mindless / boredom eating. If you are hungry- please EAT.

▪️ Go exercise! Not only will you burn some calories, but also it will likely make your cravings disappear. My favourite at the moment are
- Jogging in place while watching a YouTube video- I only started doing this yesterday but I already love it. I also wear fuzzy socks so I don’t make that much noise lol
- Basic exercises targeting problem areas like thighs and stomach (crunches, leg lifts, leg raises, scissors etc)
- Spinning in place- alright, perhaps it’s not really an exercise but it’s still better than just sitting still. You can also put a pillow between your knees and squeeze it while you’re watching something, it’s great for inner thighs!
▫️I love watching true crime or unsolved mystery videos on YouTube! They’re so interesting and they always help me stop thinking about food all the time.
I wouldn’t recommend watching food related videos though (unless it’s really your thing), I find that personally it keeps me focused on eating and leads to a binge afterwards.
▪️Read a book! I loove reading so much and a good book really does keep your mind off of anything else and is just soo entertaining!
▫️Get creative- play an instrument, draw, paint, write, sing, take photos.. The possibilities are endless!
▪️Play computer games! I’m obsessed with The Sims at the moment haha but I also love RPGs, they’re so fascinating
▫️Clean your room- like, thoroughly clean it. It’s totally time consuming and you’ll feel so much better afterwards.
▪️Go for a walk! Take your dog with you if you have one or just grab your headphones and listen to music or podcasts while walking.
▫️Take a nap- it’s like my favourite thing ever lol just make sure you set an alarm so you don’t sleep for more than an hour and have troubles with falling asleep at night
▪️Write in your diary! Vent and complain all you want, you’ll feel a lot better. I also like to make lists (things to do that day/ week, wish lists, my goals for the month/ year, places I want to visit, books I want to read etc)
▫️Cook/ bake something for your family! Unless you know you might eat it all, it’s an awesome distraction ^^ I always do sth that has gluten in it because I’m allergic and this way I can make sure I won’t be tempted 🤣
▪️Look up diy fall room decor on Pinterest if you’re into this stuff and see what you can do to spice up your space a little bit.
▫️ Try new flavours of tea or make your favourite and sip it while watching a movie/ reading a book etc. I personally love green tea with ginger, mint, and raspberry tea ^^
It’s not always easy, but having some sort of a backup plan like this helps a lot. I’m usually most prone to overeating when I’m stressed or anxious, and these things help me calm down. Hope it helps some of you 💕
