Question:
What made you fall in love with Einiosaurus? Was it doing research for your dinosaur herd project? Just think it looks cool?
Answer:
Because of the project thingy, yeah.
I knew I was going to use Troodon/Stenonychosaurus in it, and I wanted a ceratopsid-that-wasn’t-Triceratops as their herd animal. I then went and whined about it to my librarian friend, who dug me a list of all the not-Triceratops hornfaces that coexisted with Troodon/Stenonychosaurus, and I chose from there.
Einiosaurus was small enough to be reasonable (only a rhino sized), had an interesting frill (the two spikes) but wasn’t too hard to draw (crossing off Styracosaurus frill for having to draw all the frill spikes in perspective, and Achelousaurus nasal boulder thingy wasn’t as interesting) and, well. Just look at that nose horn, it’s ridiculous! I love it!
And after sinking more than half a decade into drawing them, I’ve grown quite attached. (I started getting serious on the project thingy somewhere around late 2013, so they’ve been with me for a while)
