Hank and Connor fight scene but Mamma Mia is playing (is this still a meme?? Am I relevant?)
Maybe what I’m getting at is that I think people have sort of passively adopted the idea that you must get consent from someone in order to be attracted to them, and if you experience attraction without consent, you are behaving badly and doing something wrong.
Attraction isn’t something you can switch on or off and it isn’t a set of behaviors or actions, it’s just an internal fact of the brain. You can be attracted to someone without making it their problem or making them aware of it at all. You don’t have to stare or comment or ask for their number or follow them home or assault them—those are actions you can refrain from, but attraction itself is just… there.
im sitting here wondering what could’ve even PROMPTED this post. what discourse suddenly declared “you require permission to be attracted to anyone” that could’ve even provoked a post that can read like pedophilia apologia – honestly, why even mention stalking or assault? why pretend abuse is about attraction and not power dynamics?
honestly, completely baffling at best, absolute rancid at worst.
OP I don’t know if you intended this but this post literally reads like MAP/pedo apologia
Weird ‘cause children were never mentioned and this post is about the psychological hell of internalized lesbophobia and the overwhelming fear of being predatory merely by finding a straight woman attractive.
It was a direct response to being aggressively hounded about the specific intersections of my gender and sexuality by people who seemed to think that a mismatch between my orientation and that of another meant it was inherently wrong, disrespectful, and abusive to privately crush on them.
No goddamn children involved.
[ID: The business handshake meme. A person on the left, labelled “gender presentation”, shakes hands with a person on the right, labelled “pronouns”. Their hands are labelled “being potentially related to but not necessarily indicative of gender identity”. End ID]
The last time I left my house was 17 days ago and on that day I walked past a man who was sitting in his car with the windows open and as I walked past, someone on his radio said “now sports! sports is, there are no sports”
That was the last day of Massachusetts
Why are people commenting like “this is night vale” or “I can’t tell if this really happened or it’s an apocalyptic vision” like are you all not aware that there’s an unprecedented international disaster happening? What is not normal life in March 2020 about this post
The radio channel I listen to has a guy who does the traffic report every morning and he got so fed up of saying basically “theres no traffic because everyone is at home” that he started getting listeners to message him with the traffic that’s in their home. like “in Steve’s house in Surrey today theres a massive delay between the bedroom and the dining room table that is where Steve is working because the dog is lying in the doorway. the current recommended diversion is via the kitchen for a cup of tea.”
That’s adorable, and very funny, and oh god we’re all going insane.
Thinking abt immortality and how meticulously you’d have to keep track of all of your shit so some nosy historian didnt spot your old journal or coat or copy of a book and call an infuriating time-based finders keepers
“It’s two hundred years old” they say. “It’s essentially public property” they say. It’s a letter you sent to your friend and it’s in a museum now and you’re screaming
Why are vampire stories always I Want To Drink The Sexy Neck Milkshake and never two vampires texting about the passionate letter one wrote to the other in 1863 but never sent that the other just saw in the Smithsonian’s fall exhibition on Love Through the Ages and what the fuck, Claude, why didn’t you say anything

Fake Punk: I don’t care about catching coronavirus
Real Punk: I should take precautions to help protect the oppressed groups who are vulnerable to this epidemic like low-income households, homeless people and people with disabilities.
This isn’t “punk” it’s just being a good person
Contrary to what many people would have you believe, being a good person despite societal pressure not to be is kinda what punk is about
