I don’t why but I fell like gmmtv is such a queer baiting company.
don’t get me wrong some of the shows are quit good but it seems like they are luring in bl fans by promising a bl love story but when you watch it’s a long story about bromance. I just saw they are coming out with i think five new bls this year, at this point they don’t even care about quality or the story it’s all about how much money they can get out the bl fans.
I’m sorry for this long rant hope you have a wonderful day
hi anon! hmm… I both agree & disagree. is gmmtv milking bl as much as they can? absolutely, but let’s not forget that all of their successful shows (with the exception of like 3 to 5 shows), the ones that have boosted their audience numbers, the ones that have made gmmtv as big as it is today, are bl shows. so of course, they have to keep up with what they’re the most known for to keep their audience engaged. tbh I don’t really see what you’re talking with stories about bromance? the only show that was bl but ended up in a weird bromance thing was the shipper, & even then the characters were confirmed to be in love even if they didn’t end up together. that being SAID, yeah we can agree that the bl releases (not 5, something like 7 or 8 shows lol) this year are really meh imo. I feel like the only stories we haven’t seen before are never let me go & the eclipse, which are coincidentally the 2 shows I’m the most excited for. so about them not caring about the quality or the story? yeah, kinda tbh. I mean, they’re releasing 20+ shows next year, which they’ve never done before (their max was 16 in 2021 but they didn’t even get to release all of them bc of covid.) so like yeah, I do think they kinda chose their bl shows a bit quickly & I would’ve personally switched some of them to better stories, but oh well… gmmtv is a brillant company, but they’re also the epitome of consumerism so I’m not too surprised :///
