And when Leiland gets there, Markus tries to subtlety woo him with spas and rich fancy things, but while Leiland enjoys all those things, he’s not like I need this all the time. So one day while Markus is actually forced to do some paperwork to keep everything running, Leiland goes wandering the city and stumbles upon a run-downed orphanage and sees the caretaker is visibly better off than any of the kids. Cue Leiland bursting with anger and completely destroying the caretaker
Though, Leiland doesn’t physically harm the caretaker because the children are right there! So, Leiland takes over the orphanage because how are they supposed to be productive members of evil society if no one shows them the way! Cue shenanigans as Leiland strong arms various people all around the city to help restore/rebuild the orphanage and Markus ‘casually’ wandering around trying to figure out where the hell Leiland disappeared too.
I love the idea of Leiland taking over an orphanage and being like “what, no, i’m training an evil army, obviously. they have to be happy and well-taken-care-of if they’re going to be effective evil minions, you know.” and markus just like “i’m not arguing with you. no one is arguing with you. obviously i support your evil army, babe.”
