hey i just wanted you to know that your stuff is big inspo for me and every time you post more edgeworld stuff i can feel the serotonin saturate my brain. cheers and thanks <3
Thank you!!! That’s super sweet and I appreciate that a lot! Honestly it’s nuts to me that people are really into this setting when it really just started as some silly OC/worldbuilding draws for myself.
Makes me really happy, thanks for sharing some of that serotonin!
I have a question from an art student: did you come up with your story first or the character/setting designs??
Well, the characters are absolutely ancient, from a really old high fantasy story:
Which in itself was a reboot of an even older setting from like… God. I wanna say 2005, maybe?
So yeah, characters first. The actual setting is actually a fusion of two different concepts I’ve had floating around, one being a modern day version of the above story, and the other one a cartoon world with a dark/edgy side.
There’s also a couple of references to other old childhood stuff I made, like the mandrakes and one of the buggiemen are old fakemons, and the vast majority of species are redesigns from the old 2005 setting. (I’ll scan some of em one of these days)
I have no idea if this is true or not but what if the lindworms all had like, rooms in some shared space for their hoards and that's where they all know eachother from. They literally all live together in one big family.
It is a mystery!
Lindworms are very frustrating when it comes to answering questions about how the wormholes work and what’s on the other side.
They’ve also been very uncooperative when it comes to any experiments involving them, seeming to find it invasive and rude.
So far, no amount of threats or bribes have gotten a straight answer out of a lindworm, so your guess is as good as anyone’s!
Wanted to draw my characters for @rattyarts‘ Edgeworld again! Now they have names. SOMEDAY… They will have colors. Maybe when my arm is doing much better.
The Kitsune is Tuni, and the Vampire is Suika. (Suika will mostly be greens, yellows and oranges… Tuni’s probably a mix between natural and deviantart, if that’s a thing that exists.)
Tuni is a massive goober who loves life and wants to share their surplus of tails with everyone… Whether or not others actually want their tails. Otherwise they spend their time making arts and crafts, and is pretty good at it! What they make varies from week to week, so it seems.
Suika is a laid back, but prone-to-be-stern kind of gal, who loves hanging out on beaches and eats up summer vibes (as well as all the nearby produce, she will inhale your coconuts). She tends to tolerate Tuni’s antics better than most… But she won’t hesitate to actively put them back into place, haha. Why does Tuni keep bothering Suika? Who knows, maybe they think she’s neat.
Hell yeah!!! Check out these rad Edgeworld fan characters!
Suika is definitely neat, who wouldn’t want to be friends with a mysterious and cool creature of the nightday beach?
