M45 - Pleiades
This beautiful image of the Seven Sister star cluster, otherwise known as M45 or Pleiades, was taken from Florida using a long exposure, revealing the dust and gas filaments that still exists around the cluster, from it’s birth.
The image was featured on today’s APOD.
M45 is the brightest open cluster in our sky, visible by naked eye in the constellation of Taurus.
In antiquity, it was used to test your eye sight, hence the seven sisters.
