Hey everyone.  On account of recent events, me and the team find it necessary to make a public statement on the situation.  Squigglydigg, who previously did freelance on “The Future” video will not be returning for any position of production on any project related to Mystery Skulls Animated. 

She was brought on as freelance, among a group of other freelancers, roughly a year ago.  Her input on the project itself did not extend beyond her given roll as an animator.  Regardless, the views expressed by her in no way reflect the views of the small, core MSA team or anyone else who participated in any leg of production.  I wish to personally denounce such statements as much as possible.  These views are extremely irresponsible and dangerous. 

We will be placing an open call for freelance animators in the near future as expected.  For anyone harmed by the toxicity this situation presented, I wish to personally extend an apology to those effected.  We will strive to make sure this kind of scenario does not happen again.

As soon as he reached the living room, he found his wife there—surrounded by more than a dozen officers from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office. The officers allegedly pointed their guns at him and his wife, Bayle said, and then tied their hands tightly with a cord.

Awakened by the bangs and commotion, three children—ages 4, 7, and 9— joined their parents in the living room. Officers allegedly pointed guns at them, too, Bayle said.

“I felt very scared,” Bayle said in an interview with Sahan Journal at his home Thursday evening, some 14 hours after the police raid. “I thought they were going to kill us.”

The police search felt like it took forever—maybe two hours, he said. Bayle kept asking the officers who they were and why they’d come to his house. (In the end, the police appear to have found nothing, and took no evidence with them, Bayle said.)

Bayle said the officers ransacked the house and never showed him a search warrant— until the end. That’s when they told him his son had been killed.

Plot twist: if you are tired and burned out, resting is literally the most productive thing you can do. You ain’t gonna get shit done when you’re burned out. If you do, it’ll take three times as long, take even more energy out of you, and will also suck because you were too tired to do it well. When you’re too tired to do the things you want/need to do, resting is the first step.

IF YOU ARE TIRED AND BURNED OUT, RESTING IS LITERALLY THE MOST PRODUCTIVE THING YOU CAN DO.

it’s really important to me that people (especially young people) know how much of this goes on – like, I have seen chat rooms full of people like this brainstorming together on how to propagate this kind of deceit. Often each will run a whole bunch of accounts as different identities. Many of them are stupid like this guy, who would be terrible at this even if he remembered to switch to his other account before posting that garbage. But SOME of them are actually really really slick.

And they will do things like start you with premises you can easily agree with, such as “I respect anyone who respects me” and “you should be able to be proud of who you are” and slowly, half step by half step, lead you places like “people who don’t respect me deserve violence” and “there’s nothing wrong with white pride”. 

Or they’ll start infighting among groups… they might have an account pretending to be black and keep re-posting a couple of pictures of mexican business owners making sure their businesses don’t get damaged during BLM protests… trying to make it look like mexican americans are “on the other side” to drive a wedge and overshadow the reality that uncountable mexican american protesters stood in solidarity with the BLM movement.

They might get real sneaky and have an account pretending to be bi, and then use that account to advocate for the inclusion of pedophiles in the LGBTQ community, using false equivalencies specifically to create a backlash against bi people or make people associate bi folk with pedophilia. Some 37 year old cishet dude might pretend to be a 23 year old lesbian and start blogging untrue fear mongering about how ace people use up resources meant to protect lesbian and gay people… because if they can get real gay and lesbian people arguing about it, that fractures a group that should be strong together, and alienates people who should be adding their strength to that group.

These are all the kind of thing that happen every day here on social media. ALWAYS do your best to talk to real life members of a community in person to round out your world view, and lean toward inclusion, compassion, and support when faced with someone online presenting a point of view that is trying to convince you of negative things about specific kinds of people – especially people you would naturally identify or ally with.

Be suspicious of accounts that seem to be saying your enemy is the person next to you. Even if that account is who they say they are, who is the account next to them, whispering propaganda and rhetoric into their DMs?

Don’t forget that many people don’t “pass”, or they present binary but don’t identify as binary, so they may look like a hetero couple and actually be non-binary or trans.

ALSO: heterosexual people aren’t inherently disgusting. Even if they’re cishet white people, that doesn’t make them gross.

I’m a trans man, I pass really well. My partner is a cisgender pansexual woman, we’re straight. We’re in a heterosexual relationship, not all hets are gross. However the Karen and her husband wearing the “farmers for trump” hoodie in the steakhouse I was in last night ARE gross. Please bully them instead.

hey! i’m kicking off the #ADHDInvasion hashtag for adhd awareness month with a comic about CONSEQUENCES, and how my lifelong failure to react to them has been a huge source of frustration for me and for the ppl in my life who rely on me. even worse, it makes me seem apathetic or careless to others, when in reality it weighs really heavily on me - i just struggle to show it.

the best way i’ve found to deal with this is accepting that shame-based motivation DOES NOT WORK AT ALL for me (which is hard to do, when it’s all that’s been modeled for you by parents/educators/bosses) and try to replace fear/shame based consequences with positive outcomes: i.e. instead of “everyone will be so disappointed in me if i don’t do this,” sometimes it’s more helpful to think “if i do this on time, i’ll feel so relieved, and everyone will be happy that i pulled through.”
