We live in a world full of technology. 3D-printers are a thing, movies are released in 4D and every movie has a bunch of CGI somewhere.
You know what we don’t have? Stan Lee. He died, so there’s no way he’s ever gonna make new cameos in the mcu. Downey making a cameo in Black Widow is great, yes, but that’s only because the movie takes place way before Endgame (sorry for possibly reopening healed wounds).
But wait. Wait. Hulk was CGI. Thanos was CGI. The mcu has experience in CGI, even if I’ve heard that it’s not the best. Surely they could use that experience not to create living Stan Lee cameos, but to make visual reminders? Spiderman sees a graffiti of Stan Lee. New Asgard gives a beloved old asgardian that is CGI Stan Lee an asgardian funeral like the one for Frigga in tdw. Loki smiles at a statue of the creator of marvel, saying he was one of the few asgardians that liked Loki for who he was and deserved everybody’s respect. Falcon and Bucky save an autobiography of Stan Lee from HYDRA (if they’re still around). If there is to be an animated and talking CGI Stan Lee, though, there is only one way I can imagine that would go well for everyone.
Strange and Wanda are hips deep in the multiverse. They have achieved the goal that was the entire point of wandering into all those different universes and are now on their way home. In one of the universes they encounter along the way, they find it the same as ours, except Stan Lee has yet to die. They recognize him, laughing among the other patrons in the bar, thanks to the massive amount of time they have spent in the multiverse. They know what he has done for them. They know how much they owe him. So they go and talk to Stan Lee. They talk of the multiverse, of their ability to travel it, and they offer him to come along. Experience the world he has created with his own two eyes. Stan Lee smiles. “I am very honored that you would offer this to me,” he says. He takes a sip from his drink and sighs. “However, I belong to this universe. I have no doubt that yours would grant me an end just as comfortable as this one, but my body will stay here. Do not fear,” he continues, tears glinting in his eyes and turning to look at the camera, “for my heart will always be with you.”
