My whole life I’ve been relying on two tiny folds of membranous tissue also known as vocal cords to help me pursue the career of my dreams. Singing is one thing, but trying to harness the discipline to even slightly control these two bits of flesh to produce sound is another. Not to mention being in key, timing, phrasing, diction, intention, connection, confidence etc. Everyday is like taking 3 steps forward and 2 and a half steps back. It can be incredibly frustrating and I’ve pushed my body quite unhealthily over the years but it has never hurt my love for music. I’m proud to say that at the end of November I’ll be leaving Australia with a contract to be the host of a children’s television show where I will be singing and working with an incredible director and cast. It ain’t much but it’s a start and even then, I’m still learning, still hustling and still struggling. Thank you Lord for every bit of small detail that adds to the fabric of this life you have given me…Oh and here’s a photo of me singing at the Enmore theatre for @jeremycosta and Boney M’s NSW tour!
