The “Simposio internazionale di scultura in pietre Trentine”’ s Committee
The International Symposium on Trentino Stones Sculpture 2014
Trentino is an important Province in Northern Italy. Placed in the Dolomites heart is special for its history, traditions, languages. Trentino togher with Alto Adige – Suedtirol is a Region with a special statute, which belongsto Italy only from the First World War, as it was before part of Austria.
Trentino is famous for its beautiful landscapes of Dolomites - Unesco World Heritage, its lakes and excellent food and wines.
The International Symposium of Sculpture, aims to sculpt the Trentino stones, to give life to works of art, which could be visited, inside the most representative public palaces of Trentino Alto Adige Region. Places where visitors coming from all the globe can take knowledge and conscience of the beauty and versatility of Trentino stones, molded according to the contemporary sculpture.
Clause 1: International Symposium on Trentino Stone Sculpture will be held from 14th to 19th July 2014
Clause 2: the Sculpture Symposium theme is: MOTHER EARTH
Clause 3: the format of the works will have a height between 50 cm and 80 cm. Artists will be selected on the base of the submitted portfolio. The organizer Committee will make arrangements directly with the artists on the project to be realized.
Clause 4: The Symposium stones are:
Clause 5: The Committee will select 5 artists. The change of participants number is at the discretion of the organizer Committee.
Clause 6: The Committee will select only artists, who have not already participated to past editions of Symposium on Trentino porphyry and stone Sculpture
Clause 7: Participant artist can use various materials (except for stones other than the proposed ones), but the technical solution and the expenses will be under his/her responsibility and to his/her expenses.
Clause 8: The participants will be supplied with a 220 kw connection to the power supply, a connection to the pneumatic air system, the water with relative pipes.
Clause 9: Any other necessary tools and devices, such as grindstone etc., must be provided by each artist.
Clause 10: The worshop will be on the outside. Each artist will have at disposal a covered space of meters 3x3x3.
Clause 11: The working time is established from 08 a.m. - 12 a.m. and 1 p.m. - 7 p.m. Modifications at the timetable could be made according to the program, which will be communicated at the beginning of the Symposium
Clause 12: The organization covers the expenses of food and accommodation for all the Symposium duration, from the dinner of the day July 13th, 2014 to the breakfast of the day July 20th, 2014.
Clause 13: The participants will have a single rooms accomodation in hotel.
Clause 14: The participants, whn accompanied, will have to pay the expenses for food and accommodation OF their guest. Please give in advance communication of the number of the guests, for organizational reasons.
Clause 15: The organization will refund the costs of journey of the single artists who will have to present all the original receipts. To every artist coming from Italy and Europe, for the journey expenses is refunded a total amount of euro 300.=. To participants coming from a Nation outside Europe, for the journey expenses is refunded a total amount of euro 500.=.
Clause 16: A reward of net euro1.250.=. will be paid to every artist. The payment will take place at the end of the Symposium Sculpture. In case the artist will not be able to complete the sculpture for causes depending on him/her, the established reward will not be corresponded.
Clause 17: Artists will be responsible for the personal insurance covering in case of accident.
Clause 18: Artists are obliged to remain in the Symposium area during the working hours. The organizer Committee has right to evaluate the situation and therefore inform the participants of the relative decision.
Clause 19: All participants agree to take part to the opening ceremony of July 14th, 2014 (12 p.m.) up to the closing ceremony of July 19th, 2014 (7 p.m.). The artist will otherwise be excluded (except for justified reasons, which will BE evaluated BY the committee).
Clause 20: Artists will be selected on the basis of their portfolio. The result will be communicated to the chosen artists and will be unquestionable.
Clause 21: It will be possible to use the required documents as informative material, for the print, catalogues and publications concerning the Symposium Sculture.
Clause 22: Sculptures will remain of the organizer Committee property. Sculptors furthermore give the copyright on theIR works and the image right to the Committee.
Clause 23: Participation conditions:
The portfolio (not exceeding 2 MB) that every artist must send will contain the following documents:
1. Personal CV with photo of the artist, not longer than a page typewritten, in Italian or in English. Provide the link to a web site;
2. nr. 6 images of recent works carried out by the artist of stone/marble/granite (3 on monumental stair and 3 of small dimensions);
3. Portfolio with all the documents mentioned above, and the acceptance of this rules and conditions will have to be sent via email to the address here below

Clause 24: All the artists, who ask to take part in the Symposium, agree to the conditions specified above.
