Except he’s very aware that she’s here. Which is probably a good thing because if they’re both sitting on a roof he could very well just float off. A truly terrifying though as much as he knows neither Naomi or Black would let that happen. His hair is levitating at least out of his eyes. Shiro’s been waving glowing fingers in front of his face for a good few minutes now, watching the blue trail. “Maybe I should’ve made it a different color. Is it too late to change? I don’t even know how it works. It’s…it’s just hot. I can’t do anything plasma except for shots because of course they wouldn’t trust me with that. Which like I understand and I don’t even want a stupid sword because that’s stupid and-” that wasn’t what he’d been freaking out about.
As if he ever stopped having a low undercurrent of anxiety. Foot is twitching no matter how hard he tries to stop it. Shiro wants to whack the damn thing, but he’d probably do it with the wrong hand and end up burning shoe off. “I don’t even like the shots I just wanted to be able to do a literal finger gun. Lasers aren’t my thing, I’m a close range person because…well I didn’t get one of those stupid-well I did steal one. Twice, right, thanks.” He’s not cold, but he shivers, pulling jacket collar closer. “I can’t count how many times I’ve had a gun pointed at my face. Or claws at my neck or an alien cattle prod-why do you know what that’s called?”
Now the lion is at eye level, head bent from her precarious position sitting beside them. He’s pretty sure she’s also floating because otherwise she’d collapse the entire building. “No, I do not want-that doesn’t make this any better knowing what everything is called. Can you stop?” Shiro makes a shooing motion at the giant robot, getting a loud grumble in response. “Now I’m talking to you. Because you hear everything. Except for when you didn’t. Couldn’t,” he scoffs. “I don’t actually believe you on that, you know. How in the fuck could you not know where I was?” His voice is raising, sleeves joining hair in no longer being bound by gravity.
“How could you let that happen? Do you have any idea how many times I’ve had no say in anything that happened in my life, had everyone else get to decide what happened? If I get to sleep, what I do every second of every day and how often that involved the worst things I could imagine? I’m not talking about the arm, I don’t even care, I don’t remember it humans sometimes just black out from pain. I’m talking about when you couldn’t protect me. When-when you glitched or whatever and somehow you sent me-” he’s yelling now, hoarse and crying.
“Oh sure you’re just absolutely powerless against magic. Just like your fucking paladin. We got rid of the connection on all ends, but you know who’s name I have permanently on my skin? Not her’s. How could you not find me? What happened to our-how can that be cancelled out? If you say magic again I’m-I’m divorcing you. How do you not know? You’re like…tens of thousands of years old!”
