Giant green pill millipede, Zoosphaerium neptunus, Sphaerotheriida
Found only in Madagascar, this species is the largest pill millipede in the world, sometimes reaching almost 4 inches in length.
Oh boy, lots of confusion in the notes!
These friends are millipedes. They just happen to be the kind that can roll into a nice lil ball.
They are NOT roly polies. Roly polies are terrestrial isopods, usually called pill bugs or woodlice, and they’re a kind of crustacean. There are also freshwater and marine isopods, including the giant isopods of the deep ocean that can reach 30″ in length or more.
Here’s a typical millipede most people are more familiar with:
They roll into spirals for protection instead of orbs:
Here’s a roly poly, or common pill woodlouse:

Pill millipedes and roly polies are not closely related. Turns out rolling into a ball is a fairly common defense mechanism adapted by a lot of species! Including a few mammals :)
I would like to follow up this post with:
Do not ever buy Madagascar Pill Millipedes.
yes people sell them online. yes i want one too.
they should not be removed from their island and absolutely will not survive more than a month or two.
we do not know why, but something in their island diet or environment is *so incredibly specific* that we cannot replicate it. and it’s not just this species – all Madagascar pill millipedes die in capitivity. they live nowhere else on earth and we cannot breed them – every Madagascar pill millipede for sale is wild caught, and taking these rare and beautiful critters from their home on Madagascar is extremely dubious at best. do not buy them. do not do it. find a european Glommeris species or an interesting isopod.
Yeah invertebrate hobbyists have tried to crack the secret of pill millipedes for decades to no avail. Every so often someone claims to have kept them alive over a year or had babies, but can never prove it, or they all still drop dead shortly afterwards.
I had recently downloaded ISO. files for my PCSX2 emulator ( PS2 ), and I tried quite a few out for an hour or so and I remembered all of the starting scenes of the game and all the sequences! I remember the main game that I loved playing on my PS2 when I was little was this Japanese game called Katamari Damacy, which is basically where you are this little dude at first with a ball that sticks things of equal or smaller sizes onto it, growing it the more stuff it sticks itself onto. It was also the only few games during my childhood that I did not ragequit on when I got stuck at a level, because the concept was simple! You had a time limit for each level and you basically tried to roll up stuff on your Katamari until you were of a specific size!
Another game that I remember very fondly was Rayman 3: Hoodlum’s Havoc! It was one of the first Rayman games I played and when I tried it out again today it was a rollercoaster of emotions ( metaphorically speaking )!
Although I probably have all of the Playstation consoles in the storage room with all of the games, it would take too much time and effort to find them due to the abundance of items in said room. It was a lot simpler for me to set up the emulators ( PPSSPP, PCSX2, RPCS3, YUZU, RYUZAKI )
Another game that I remember was the Ed Edd & Eddy game for the PS2! That also was just -HYPERFIXATES- <3
It’s interesting seeing the trends of gaming and what each decade found more important. You can definitely find a bunch of games during 2002-2010 that put a major emphasis on story, gameplay, and overall world exploration. There were of course many linear games but every character in each game was memorable. Now gaming companies pump out FPS games all the time with unmemorable characters and just “ WOAHHH BETTER GRAPHICS!! “ And it’s like… |:>” Why?
“ WE ENHANCED THE TEXTURES OF THIS GUY’S BALLSACK BY 16X!! WOAHHHHH 8K BALL TEXTURES!! “
I recommend for anybody reading this to try out older generation games, if possible. I can personally recommend a few games based on genre or preference if needed because due to my dad’s connections with a few people, I was able to get a lot of console games for really cheap. ( The biggest collection is my PS2 games collection of 800+ discs )
if a video game doesn’t have extremely detailed testicles that give your PC a stroke trying to render it, then what’s the point? /j
op of this post is a shithead but im toootally anti-piracy so here’s after effects, illustrator, animate, premiere pro and photoshop.
you shouldnt need a vpn to download from drive sites like MEGA, and people on the notes of the original post were saying it worked fine, but as with anything like this, exercise caution. don’t run programs you dont trust as administrator, have a wieldy antivirus at hand (if you use avast or avira or avn im making fun of you. malwarebytes has a premium free trial and it works fine even after that runs out) and have fun.
all these fucking fools on my dashboard talk about how they love bats but only show pictures of fruit bats fuck you start posting pictures of all bats i can’t stand this fucking bat erasure
look at him he’s not your conventionally attractive bat but he deserves just as much love
Yo, you want some adorable non-fruit bats? Gotcha covered, pals!
Long Eared Bat, huge ears and an adorable face!
Mexican Free Tailed Bat, named for the fact that their uropatagium (back leg membrane) doesn’t cover their tail, leaving them with a teeny mouse-like tail.
Gould’s Wattled Bat, they got some pearly white sharp teeth, but they tell great jokes and always laugh at yours too.
Hoary Bat, AKA the bat that looks like they’re covered in powdered sugar.
Bulldog Bat, a bulldog… with wings <3
Vampire Bat, often seen as creepy, but they’re actually really cute. Also fun fact, vampire bats live in a social structure where able-bodied bats go out and feed and then share part of their meal with old/weak/sick members who cannot forage themselves. No survival of the fittest here, every bat helps every bat out <3
And lastly, the Painted Bat, and yes, those are its actual colors. Can’t get any more Halloween than that <3
Let me add a couple more!!
A personal favorite of mine: Honduran White Fruit Bat, also known as ‘Marshmallow Bats’! These tiny cuties make tents by nibbling on the leaves until they fold down, and they snuggle close underneath it!
Bumblebee Bat! The smallest bat species and often considered the smallest mammal on Earth!
And the newly discovered Pied Bat!! I couldn’t find much about them, but gosh, they are adorable!!
what is it about mlp that makes people trans their gender
A pretty significant portion of the show heavily involves encouraging people to discover their true self and to not hold back on expressing yourself, so maybe that kind of thing has stuck with people even if it might not be consciously?
I get a lot of questions about cat genetics, so here’s a handy reference for everyone wanting to learn more!
one thing that will help you understand the diagrams: dominant traits are represented by capital letters (D/D), recessive traits are represented by lowercase letters (d/d). you only need one copy of a dominant gene for it to express (D/D or D/d have the same expression), but you need two copies of a recessive gene for it to express (d/d)
these are all from the Labgenvet page of cat colouration, which you can visit for detailed explanations of these diagrams
