Did I just re watch kara sevda to get my heartbroken all over again?
Yes, yes I did
greta thunberg being ‘neutral’ in the face of the genocide in palestine makes me angry because of just how many white people are praised on their activism that, at the end of the day, loses its integrity completely when it comes to poc. for someone who has said that she is angry at how her childhood was stolen by activism and fighting climate change, which is fair enough and true, but still has privilege that’s worlds away from palestinian children who are losing their childhood literally, losing their childhood to the terror and horrific experience of genocide. it is no less impressive that greta has done what she’s done, but she can do so because of the many privileges she has being white and a citizen of a very developed country and it really doesn’t do to forget that, and it’s a shame that in this case, it seems like she has. because yes, it is important to care about the planet and i’m the last person to say that climate change is unimportant, but i think for someone who has been so passionate about saving the planet, it is frustrating and disappointing to see her stance switch to 'neutrality’ when it comes to the lives of brown people
Someone finally said this
I remember a time when tumblr, cringe site though it may be, used to speak up unequivocally for humanitarian rights EVERYWHERE. Most of my early introduction to the Palestinian cause was through tumblr. Today, it isn’t even a trending hashtag. And the few resources that have been shared are littered with accusations of anti-semitism. Which btw is not true. Calling “Israel” out for its blatant ethnic cleansing agenda is not equal to hatred of Jews. What “Israel” is doing is a conscious military program to take over and exterminate the local populace, most of who happen to be Muslims. Citing the Holocaust as a good reason to take over stolen land and justify literal colonization is shameful and does no good to anyone’s ancestors or their memories.
As for those trying their hardest to say that religion is nowhere in the picture, I’m sorry but your Islamophobia is also showing. This is an attack on MUSLIMS who are WORSHIPPING inside our third holiest MOSQUE in our HOLIEST MONTH. You are doing us a grave disservice by trying to divorce the element of religion from what’s happening. The attacks have been timed over the years to mostly coincide with Ramadan, when Palestinian Muslims are fasting. It is not an accident; it is planned. Unfollow me all you want, but I will die screaming this into the world.
FREE PALESTINE. NO TO SETTLER COLONIALISM. NO TO ETHNIC CLEANSING.
And for good measure, here is a reading list. Please read more books and not just bite-sized infographics on the web.
- On Palestine by Noam Chonsky and Ilan Pappé
- After the Last Sky by Edward Said
- The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine by Ilan Pappé
- The Way to the Spring: Life and Death in Palestine by Ben Ehrenreich
- The Edward Said Reader
- Parting Ways: Jewishness and the Critique of Zionism by Judith Butler
- Except for Palestine by Marc Lamont
- I Saw Ramallah by Mourid Barghouti
- Black Power and Palestine by Michael Fischbach
“Citing the Holocaust as a good reason to take over stolen land and justify literal colonization is shameful and does no good to anyone’s ancestors or their memories.” YES YES YES. Using it as a reason to do almost similar crimes to other people is pure, pure evil and honestly sooooooooo hypocritical, especially when those events are the big part of their history. I mean, you cannot play “i’m the victim” show forever.
You don’t even have to be a Muslim to stand with Palestine, this is a humanitarian cause
Spread the news as much as you can and if you can donate please do so!!!!!

Sam and Bucky’s relationship really went from sam telling Steve that he wasn’t sure if Bucky was the kind of guy you save but the guy you stop and now here he is telling Bucky that he doesn’t need any other person to tell him wether he’s worth it or not, that’s he’s much more than what other people think of him. And I’m so glad we got to see Bucky apologise to sam for not understanding his struggle related to the shield. We love such character developments.
SamBucky officially have one of the greatest relationships in the mcu for me.
I just realised the soundtrack playing in this scene is the same in Captain America winter soldier when Steve is trying to remind Bucky who he is near the end of the movie. Lemme just tell you I ain’t okay
I want you all to know that an Arab Muslim from Tunis proposed the Theory of Evolution near 600 years before Charles Darwin even took his first breath. Don’t let them erase you.
his name is Ibn Khaldun
Also, it was not the apple falling from a tree that made Issac Newton “discover” gravity. He was reading the books of Ibn Al Haytham, an Arab Muslim from Iraq, who pioneered the scientific method, discovered gravity and wrote about the laws governing the movement of bodies (now known as Newtons three laws of motion) some 600 years before Newton existed. Without him, modern science as we know it wouldn’t exist. Read on him. His achievements are far greater than what I’ve just mentioned here.
#no offense but arabs literally invented chemistry and algebra and we came up with the concept of the camera #the cataract operation that’s still practiced today was invented by an Arab #we created alchemy and the wright brothers used abbas ibn firnas’ findings and writings to build on to create a plane #I could go on and on and on #pls don’t erase our scientific history
I reblog this post every time I see it
We fucking replaced a Muslim scientist with an apple?
In the middle ages, THE place to go for an education was the middle East, or, failing that, Spain. The Muslim world didn’t have the same limits placed on scientific inquiry that the Christian world did, and since they were willing to look at more than just Aristotole and actually compare texts to the observable world, they had some incredible scientific and mathematical advancements. And street lights and toilets. I mean theories and algebra are great and all, but street lights and toilets. In the 12th century. Also medical advancements, and fewer rules against women studying. Hell, women *should* be the ones studying the female body, would you rather a woman see your female relatives, or some old man? Would you rather have someone who lives in the same kind of body, or one who has no first hand idea what the parts can do?
Europeans erased centuries of knowledge from the East because of fear. When we “rediscovered” it, we were still too egotistical to admit that non-whites could have been smarter, so we invented our own mythology.
Bring credit back where it’s due. Honor the true pioneers.
Algorithms were named for the mathmetician al-Khwārizmī, a Persian man, but they won’t teach that in schools and you know why
All of this.
To whoever at marvel decided to post a 1 hour dancing zemo, may you have a very pleasant evening
The amount of excitement I felt when the wakandan theme started playing
John Walker may think he’s Captain America but we all know nobody’s adding him to the avengers group chat
