Ending the War
The end will come when we decide to make
peace with our past, what is,
and what will be. When we finally
decide to accept the things that we
can’t change, let go of the worry, the doubt, and every shadow that constantly attacks our minds, and step towards what fills our soul with love and light. The war continues throughout this lifetime because life is a test of who and what we are. No ,we won’t always pass these tests with flying colors.
We will fight many wars and we won’t always be proud of the way we handle them, but we will fight. I don’t know what other people want, but when I draw in that final breath right before I close my eyes I would like to be able to say “I have peace within my soul.”
God grants us all the tools we need to be able to find that peace, but our eyes are just not always open to it. Sometimes the fact that his storyline for us is different from the
way we plan it, it throws us for a minute. Making peace with ourselves is not simple, we walk through a lot of things, it takes a whole lifetime to do and none of the pages in our books look the same. So simply put, the war chooses to end when we decide to accept. It is as simple and as complicated as that. It is a struggle, we will have moments where we go back and forth. At the end of the day, we have to decide to be okay with our own story. Finding happiness in what is and all the small moments, is what will help us to win. This is a fight that we choose to end, but learning to become content.
I love the question so much, I got inspired to write about it!
All writing belongs to me.
