She started lifting her leg more and then placed the tip toe of her heel right against his cheek, looking playfully over at him.
Paola kept her foot RIGHT where it was…pressing against his cheek.
“…I’m so clumsy.”
As he felt her heel press against his cheek did that goofy grin of his only grow even more.
Paola always knew he was a freak after all. Though one thing he never got the courage to ask her to do was step on him- he always felt like that was overstepping the boundry.
But now… ‘ Ohhh baby, it’s alright, you can step on me all you’d like~ ‘
KID!!! IN BUSINESS YOU NEED TO SAY YOU’RE [[$4.99]]!!! ‘
Oh you absolutely know spmton is burying his nose in the blankets and passing out bc of Paola’s scent
Paola’s eyes locked onto his as he pulled away, but she still didn’t know how to properly respond.
…was there something more she wanted to say to him? She felt as if there was but couldn’t put her finger on it. Or…she DID know but she just didn’t want to admit it…?
Despite him pulling back, she kept her hands behind his head to keep him in place.
“…you didn’t ruin anything.
You didn’t do anything at all.”
Her heart was pounding. She felt as if she was about to slip off the couch. And when she realized that she might actually slip just a bit, she finally pulled back and removed her hold of him.
Paola took a step back and held her hands at her sides. She didn’t look upset…angry…nothing like that. Instead she looked somewhat panicked.
“—late! Oh it’s…it’s really late.”
She reached over one more time and gave Spamton a playful pat or two on the knee and when he looked at her, she smiled. It was clear that she was trying to cut whatever tension was filling between them.
“…look I’m…gonna go lay down. I don’t…you didn’t do
anything wrong. I genuinely don’t mind you bein’ here.”
A few steps back, and she was walking backwards towards the hall leading to her room. She gave Spamton a little heart symbol with her hands before saying “I’ll be up for a bit…so…let me know if you need anything.” and heading in. Her door could be heard shutting quietly behind her.
As she gave him a reassuring pat, telling him that she needed to go lie down but also reassuring him she wasn’t upset honestly was making him feel better. Spamton couldn’t help but just smile as he watched her walk down the hallway, his hands nervously raising to return the heart hand gesture- though it wasn’t as cute as her’s was.
And once the sound of her door shutting was heard did he slide down on the couch, lying down as he buried himself in the blankets provided to him. The salesman ran a hand through messy locks as he let out a dreamy exhale. ‘ What a doll…I really don’t deserve her but I’m so glad she’s still here for me. ‘
His heart began to calm down as he relaxed, hoping these good thoughts he was having right now could atleast help aid him when it came to going to sleep. ‘ I swear one day Paola…’ He’d murmur to himself in the sheets. ‘ It’s gonna be you and me takin a ride around town in our own lil cungadero~ ‘
Oh yeah, forgot to mention it but I did add smth to my rules
Sorry if I recently unfollowed anyone who may be confused. I mainly was cleaning out followers for who want to interact with me.
Also cleaning out some who I see are interacting with someone who came back it seems.
OOoooo come on I know you wanna interact with my trash gremlin or send me asks
Paola’s blood felt cold but burning hot all at once as Spamton grabbed her and pulled her back in to to keep their hold going. At first, as she was pulled, she held her hands out to the side as if she didn’t know what to do. Fall back into the hug…or push him away?
It wasn’t like they hadn’t hugged before…but it was just so close and personal. This wasn’t the same as a friendly little hug…
After some empty minded pondering, she brought her hands up to his sides. And then she wrapped her arms around his neck while snaking them upward. She felt his face bury into her shoulders but she just remained frozen. No, she couldn’t even properly react. She didn’t know how to.
But even so, she felt herself half mindedly returning the hug.
Paola’s face turned slightly so that her cheek would rub against his. Beautifully pointed finger tips grazed through his dark hair and she spoke but did so quietly.
“…are you okay? I know you have a lot on your mind…
but you’re not usually like this.
Her cheek was so soft against his…the feeling of her long nails grazing through his hair feeling so relaxing…so soothing. Though Paola had asked him a question did he still remain silent for some time. While embracing Paola like this did Spamton feel like perhaps his mind was beginning to slow down bit by bit…
he became less nervous- though his mind did feel very foggy.
‘ Yeah I’m…. ‘ He pursed his lips, taking another brief pause. Lying would always be okay…but he knew that Paola would always catch him in his lies.
Slowly did his lower lip tremble as he pulled away, still holding onto Paola’s shoulders, just moving enough to get a good look in her beautiful eyes.
And with that would he shake his head.
‘ No … I’m not okay. I’m sorry I’m such a mess and probably ruined things with you. ‘

I feel so accomplished with my portrayal of Spamton, especially since I don’t think I’ve really seen any other rpers here get as deep as mushy and I have for this silly lil man. Who knew all it’d take was throwing him into hell
I’ve gone by this name for over 10 years now and with all the bullshit I’ve been through I haven’t changed it at all.
When Paola came back with an extra blanket, she had this look of worry on her face. Or panic? Well…either way, Spamton didn’t seem to notice as he was too busy groaning into a pillow out of his own sheer embarrassment of himself.
She made her way over to him and throw the blanket on top of him, probably waking him from his little episode of self punishment.
The two were sat there, just staring at each other in silence again.
Her hands folded themselves in front of her legs, and she could feel her teeth involuntarily biting at the inside of her cheek. Why was she becoming so antsy all of a sudden?
“…so anyway…it’s…really late. I’ll call the cab service before I lay
down and tell them not to come.”
She took one step back, but then paused. What was going through her mind? Well, Paola wasn’t entirely sure. But…
With no warning, she stepped forward again and suddenly…
her knee was leaning against the edge of the couch. Her other one found a place to rest as she came in closer to Spamton, arms wrapping around his neck so that she could give him a hug. She tried her best to keep her weight off of him but…with her awkwardly leaning over him while he sat there…it wasn’t entirely working. But she didn’t think he minded.
“…thank you for takin’ me home.” She mumbled.
They just sat there…hugging silently…something was definitely going on there, but Paola would just never say a word. She slowly began to attempt to pull away, but seemed to take her time.
As she embraced him did he not even think about how yes, her body was against his and he’d go crazy over feeling the sensation of her chest against his body. No…instead he just focused on the warmth of Paola herself. The hug was so warm and comforting that he didn’t want to let go….
And once she slowly began to pull away did Spamton just lean back into the hug, tightening it as he buried his face into Paola’s neck. His eyes felt heavy, hazy even with tears. He didn’t want this moment to end. Sure things had been feeling so akward at the moment but….
Just right now he was finally taking everything in.
Clearly there was so much on his chest he felt like he had to get off- and he was sure Paola felt the same…. And with those weighing thoughts was the last thing he was going to accept was her just leaving him here alone as she returned to her room. ‘ Paola…let’s just stay like this- for a bit longer okay? ‘ He asked, using her name rather than calling her something like babe.
Paola removed her legs and sat up straight, sitting rightfully next to Spamton. She raised her brows and brought her hands to her lap, folding her hands together.
“…I told ya you shouldn’t flirt with me at all. I know it’s just you jokin’
an’ all but…Gold gets real jealous. On top o’that, other people might get
the wrong idea.”
In no way was she trying to hurt his feelings…but…
“…don’t worry about him though. I’ll handle Gold some otha time. He’s
really been gettin’ on my nerves with his stupid attitude.”
When Spamton asked if he could stay, Paola sat up straighter and raised her brow. He…wanted to stay the night…
…no big deal, right? He’d just sleep on the couch. In the morning, he’d be on his way. Simple.
But…what if Gold found out?
“…it isn’t his business anyway.” She thought to herself.
“…I’m just helping a friend.”
She looked over at Spamton and stood up from her seat, throwing her arms outward so that she could stretch.
“…you know what…uh…I guess it is…really late isn’t it?
You takin’ a cab home may be a bit much huh?
Yeah…okay…you can stay.”
He looked so afraid to leave, she just couldn’t tell him otherwise. Paola was merely helping a friend. That’s all it was…right?
“…you can sleep on the couch if ya want. I mean…
Or…I mean…yeah the couch.”
Paola began to quickly walk to the hallway, making her way to a closet to grab Spamton an extra blanket and anything she could find to make him comfortable. As she did so, she felt her face burning up. For some reason, she felt…a little nervous? Why did she feel so nervous? It was Spamton. He’d let her stay over at his place before when she needed somewhere to go…it was no different…right?
Just friends…a friend helping a friend.
His heart only seemed to sink more. Even though Paola had told him he could stay, that comment about how she said he shouldn’t flirt with her in the first place was kicking him hard in the gut. He knew she had no hard feelings behind it but….it still left quite the mark.
Maybe…he could bring this up to her again later when he wasn’t so drunk- or maybe not at all. Right now everything just seemed so tense that he wasn’t sure how to think straight. As she agreed to let him stay did Spamton manage to give her a small smile in thanks before she turned around and left the room.
Though as soon as she left did he just grab a pillow from the couch and just let out a muffled whine into it before he just ended up mumbling more to himself. The last thing he wanted to do was fuck up this relationship with the one gal he was head over heels for.
“Cab is called but they said there’s gonna be a small delay so…don’t
know when it’s gonna–”
As Paola came out from the hall, she tried to fasted the belt part of her robe a bit, pulling the robe back over herself to cover up. Spamton spoke so abruptly that he cut her off, and she looked downright confused.
She made her way over to the couch and folded her arms.
“—who’s gonna kill you? What are you talkin’ about?”
It took her a moment but she put two and two together and then…it hit her.
Gold. All of his coworkers.
Paola only rolled her eyes and let out a huff of air. She walked past Spamton to the other side of the couch and jumped onto it, letting her legs land over his lap. She folded one over the other, and let herself sink into her seat. The look on her face…well, it was one of zero concern.
“…are you kiddin’ me? Like I’d really tell any of them what
you did. If I did, Gold would NEVER let me hear the end of it.”
Again, she rolled her eyes, arms folding under her chest as she looked over to the window in the living room. Just talking about him…she seemed to be somewhat annoyed.
“You’re kinda drunk, Spammy. I ain’t mad about it. I’ve had customers at
the lounge do FAR worse to my person than you sniffin’ at a bra.
You’ll probably forget about it in the mornin’ anyway. It’s no sweat.”
Her eyes left the window, and came back to him. The poor guy looked absolutely frozen in place with his thoughts racing through his head and Paola’s legs just casually resting over his lap. But of course…she was just resting on him that way in a ‘friendly’ way. Right?
“…do they really treat ya so badly, Spam? Because you’re actin’
ten kinds of terrified over this.”
Oh thank God she wasn’t going to tell Gold, that was clearly his biggest fear. It was strange how he didn’t seem to react much to her legs coming to rest on his lap, he was still there frozen in fear with thoughts rushing through his head; though he’d admit that reassurance did help some.
He hated that she had to deal with other customers like that…though by the sounds of it he was almost afraid if she just got annoyed by seeing him do that, reminding her of jerk customers she’s told him about in the past. His hands clasped together, thumbs fiddling and he found himself just staring at the floor as he hadn’t even spoken since he mentioned being afraid about the other’s finding out.
‘ Y…Yeah…. ‘ He’d finally reply, looking over at Paola with a pathetically frightened look on his face. ‘ Gold’s gotten pretty pissed off at me whenever he catches me flirting with you, which is why I really try to not to when we’re all together. ‘
Looking away again did Spamton reach up to rub at his forehead, god he was feeling pretty fucked up, but that mixed with all these emotions was pure hell.
‘ I don’t think I wanna go home Paola. Could you do ya old pal Spamton a favor and let me crash here….? ‘
His question was so timidly asked, knowing he’d get shot down.
Anon // would spamton be concerned he’d be a bad influence on Kris after moving to Hometown?
He dosen’t know Kris prior to moving to Hometown if that’s what you’re specifically referring to. As for the bad influence part, since he is their finance teacher- man, he really doubts he is. Man thinks Kris is a great student after all, they don’t sleep during his classes too it seems.
After what SURELY felt like another eternity for Spamton, Paola opened the bedroom door and stood there in a deep red silk robe that had been tied at the front. Though…due to her body type being, well…busty…it was hard to keep herself covered. Underneath, Spamton could see a silky black nightgown that clearly didn’t go much past the thighs. And she just stood there in it like it was no big deal.
“Did ya call the cab?”
The way she asked…it was as if she wasn’t even bothered by what had just happened.
Paola raised a brow and stood there waiting for him to speak but…instead, Spamton just seemed to stand there with some kind of look on his face.
“…maybe you should go lay on the couch, you are CLEARLY
not actin’ okay. Go. I’ll call for the cab.”
She reached out in front of him, her chest brushing against him as she grabbed at the phone and then she began to gently push at him with her hand.
“Go…now…go take a seat. Get some water. I’ll call…”
He froze up again and looked up at Paola as she came out. This time he couldn’t help but stare at the gorgeous nightwear she had put on now. Oh man he was breathing heavily and redder than ever.
Did he call for the cab? ‘ Uh…w-well…I…. ‘ He stammered before Paola decided to decide and call for him instead. She seemed to be worried with how she was acting. Honestly right now he just wanted to run out of the house and probably just do something to himself, but he was too struck with fear.
The feeling of her chest didn’t help any as he was pushed into the living room. He shakily sat down on the couch and just stared more at his hands. Oh god he had fucked up so much he could hardly speak. Maybe he should just leave now and promise to never speak of this again, pretend he didn’t know what she was talking about if it was ever brought up.
‘ B-B-B-Babe…I’m so sorry- I- Shit…. ‘ He’d quickly stammer as she came back to check on him. ‘ Fuck…Paola..please don’t tell anyone, they’re gonna fuckin kill me I swear. ‘
Paola noticed that Spamton was taking his sweet ass time making the call for the cab. She hadn’t seen him come back out of the hall in what felt like forever. She wondered if he was okay and made her way down the hall. But when she got there, she noticed that Spamton wasn’t at the phone.
…but her door was open…
Slowly she crept to her door, and she pushed it open seeing him standing there…bra in hand. Pushed up right against his face.
Most women would probably yell…maybe run over and hit. Maybe even throw something.
But Paola merely stood there, frozen in place with a strange smirk on her face. It was more of a look of disbelief…but…
“…you must be drunker than I thought.”
She spoke up, probably scaring the ever loving SHIT out of him.
Slowly but sternly, Paola walked over to Spamton, reached to his hand and grabbed hold of the bra, yanking it from his grasp.
One hand placed itself against her hip, and she tossed the bra over into the laundry hamper on the other side of the room.
“…you know, you are REAL lucky I like you, or I’d wale on you
like everyone else does. Idiot.”
She gave him a firm shove and then grabbed him, pulling him out of her room so that she could turn around and go back in, slowly shutting the door behind her.
“…I need to get changed. Use the phone over there…and call
for a cab.”
Paola raised her brow, her head being the only thing visible as she hid behind the bedroom door. “Okay?”
And with that, she slowly closed the door behind her to start undressing and preparing for bed later.
As soon as he heard her step in did he look up, the bra still help up to his nose, intaking her sweet scent and….He just stood there, staring at her as he was caught. His stomach dropped. Oh god…oh god she probably was going to throw him out now and probably tell Gold, who’d in the end tell the rest of the friend group and result in them picking on poor ol Spamton.
Yet he didn’t move, he was frozen in fear. Yet she smirked….and he shook more as she approached him.
Yanking the bra out of his hands and being shoved out of the room with the door shut did he just stand there frozen still, loosing it internally. And after a moment did he just shake more, hands reaching up to clutch his head as he mumbled to himself.
‘ Dear lord what was I thinking?! I’m such a fucking dumbass…she’s going to tell him for sure, it’s over for me… ‘
She honestly thought he wouldn’t agree…he was always capable of being a little reclusive and mysterious about himself. So when he said yes…a little smile formed over her lips and Paola felt some sense of relief. After all…she didn’t want her friend getting sick or…hurt…out on the streets.
The two made their way up to the 8th floor and walked to the door at the very far right side of the hall. She unlocked the door, made her way in and flicked on the lights. Her apartment wasn’t the largest, but it was at least nice. Well kept, clean, sleek. A very romantic color scheme of red and black, a heart shaped couch and rug. Even the drapes at her window were a very deep, passionate tone of red.
It was like being in valentine themed wonderland.
Photo’s of she and her coworkers were placed on a few shelves here and there. On the kitchen bar was a photo of Gold and Paola posed together with a few sentimental objects that he’d given her during their relationship, leaning against the frame. One of the ‘sentiments’ was recent: a single red rose in a slender vase with a red bow tied around the neck.
As she walked by the kitchen bar, she flicked her finger in frustration at the photo of her and gold and sighed, kicking her shoes off and putting her purse down on the surface.
“If you NEED a phone, it’s down the hall near my room.
Or if you’d prefer, I can call the cab for you. I don’t know
how much you had to drink, but…”
She walked out of view while removing her coat and then throwing it onto the couch in the living room.
It wasn’t often that he was the one to come over to Paola’s house. Ahhh, it was so red just like her, and not to mention it smelled so much like her. Walking twords her room where she said the phone was did he peak into her bedroom, only to flush more. It was well kept and absolutely beautiful.
His heart began pounding more as he started having an internal fight in his head about if he should go snopping around or not. He’d defiantly be called a creep if he was but….Oh god the temptation was so real. Hands shaking did he slowly make ways into her room, standing inside and admiring every bit of it, taking it in as if it’d be his last time.
And out of the corner of his eye- he saw a lacey red bra of her’s lying on the floor. His eyes widened behind his glasses. Oh god had…had she forgotten to put that away? Maybe- maybe he should pick it up for her….Yeah, that’d seem reasonable right?
Though little did he realize that Paola seemed to be calling for him, seeing as he had been away for sometime without making the call. Perhaps she assumed he needed help…But if she were to step over to check on him….
She’d find him in her room, holding the bra close to his nose.
Spam out here wondering if Paola likes /likes/ him back, bc she kissed him but….does she really have the same feelings??? She’s not with Gold anymore, right???
“…not as nice?”
She wondered what he’d meant by that, but before she could really ask, they’d reached their destination.
Paola stopped in her tracks and looked up to the building before them. Her eyes peered all the way up at her window on the 8th floor and she let out a sigh. He had taken her the long way home…so why did the time spent walking together feel so short?
Holding back disappointment, Paola swallowed a little and looked down at her feet. She could see her breath in the cold air…her fingers clutched against her palms in her pockets as she prepared to walk inside. She’d ALMOST told him thank you…but…
“…it’s really cold out, ya know? And…I duno if ya gonna call a cab to
go the rest of the way home or somethin’? Because…you live pretty far
out from my place, right?”
She stood there, half standing against the steps of the building, looking back at Spamton who stood there in the cold with his hands tucked in his pockets.
“…you can come inside…if ya want? Call a cab and wait for it
to come get ya? I…don’t really want ya sittin’ out in the cold. Or walkin’
in it. You don’t have to…but…”
While she offered, Paola continued to walk up the steps to the front door of the building. She clutched the door knob and opened it, standing there in wait of his response.
He gazed down at his feet, the only thing really keeping him warm was his own blushing, maybe he’d try and warm himself up with a smoke while he was making his way home. There was silence between them again as they arrived, almost as if Paola was holding something back..but then she walked inside.
Ah, he almost felt like he had said something wrong. His chapped lips pursed as he exhaled, seeing his own breath. She then…asked if he wanted to come in, his head picked up and looked up at Paola, so surprised. Even if it was just to call a cab….it felt nice.
Spamton staggered foreward as his feet seemed to make his decision for him before he even had a chance to make a reply. The one thing he wanted more than ever was to just spend more time with her.
After all….he had alot on his mind now.
His feet were quick as he returned next to her side, just staring at her so dumbfounded, almost like a lost puppy. ‘ Yeah, that’d be swell Paola. ‘
She hadn’t heard what was said about Gold, but she heard enough of Spamtons mumbling to know when he was complaining. But she let it go as it seemed he didn’t want her to hear what he was saying.
When he began showing self doubt as he spoke, Paola reached over and gave him a little nudge again.
“…you’re gonna do good things, Spamton. I believe you can.”
They continued onward with their feet being the only source of sound. Both had become quiet for a moment after Paola tried to reassure him. But she soon spoke up once again.
“…I noticed you took me the longer way home, by the way.
…you probably thought I didn’t notice.”
Ah- So she noticed. He’d brush off the fact that he was caught with a nervous chuckle. ‘ Ah…yeah seems like I would. ‘ He’d sheepishly respond. Hopefully Paola didn’t seem to mind at all, after all the two of them always seemed to enjoy eachother’s company.
‘ Thanks again..for everything baby. Talking to you about work always feels less stressful. The rest of the gang arn’t usually as nice as you are. ‘ Or atleast that’s what he’d thought. Though she had been around him and his friends enough that she knew how they treated him.
Soon enough did they reach Paola’s place and Spamton didn’t want to leave her at all. But- it’d be wrong to ask if he could stay with her longer and come inside…. He’d certainly get in trouble, but part of him almost wanted to risk asking.
‘ W-Well, here we are doll. ‘
As they walked together, Paola couldn’t help but notice just how nervous Spamton was coming off. She reached out and took hold of his arm, playfully tugging at him a bit. Bringing him close enough for her chest to lightly brush against his arm. She heard him…
“…I make ya day that much better, huh?”
Paola released Spamton from her hold and she let out a bit of a laugh.
“Well that’s awfully sweet t’say. You don’t have t’be so
nervous about it. I appreciate it.”
Her eyes glanced over to one of the windows of a building they were passing. She stared at their reflections and smiled softly to herself.
“It makes my day bettah, too…I mean…when someone is actually
waitin’ for me at the end of a long day. Gold’s always so busy anymore.
I don’t really talk to many people outside of work. I dunno, Spammy…”
…one more time, she’d reach over to his arm. Only that time, she’d given him a playful shove rather than grabbing at him.
“Just…nice that I can rely on you. I guess…”
Of course with her saying he didn’t have to be so nervous didn’t help, though he’d try and smile a bit….it only growing a bit shaky and goofy as he felt her breast brush against his arm. Thank god it was just the two of them….
‘ Sorry babe, but honestly I enjoy every second I get to have with ya alone. ‘
His uneasy smile seemed to turn a bit softer as he loosened up a bit, feeling less nervous, his constant heart pounding slowly calming down. It really seemed like she had felt exactly the same despite having someone else in her life.
Hearing that bit about Gold did he try to hold back any nasty remarks, exhaling before saying. ‘ You really deserve better, Paola. ‘ Though it was another quiet remark of his. At her playful shove did he not react like he would if their other friends were to tease him, giving him hurt eyes…no, he’d still smile softly at Paola, especially with what she followed the shove up with.
‘ You know I can say the same to with you rootin me on always. Somedays I really feel like absolute shit like….what if I really can’t prove them wrong? ‘
Paola smirked and gave him a pat on the hand before leaving him behind at the bar. She said not a word, but her smile pretty much spoke for her.
Thirty or forty minutes passed with her in the back of the bar, clinging to pretentious men and pretending to laugh at their lame stories, and annoying bragging. And the entire time, all she could think about was the walk home she’d soon get to take with her good friend…friend.
When her shift was over, Paola grabbed her coat and fastened it on. She met up with Spamton at the exit and tugged at the collar of her coat.
“…thanks for doin’ this f’me. Gold uh…he said he needed to sleep in
tonight because he has a big day tomorrow. So I guess…ya know.”
The two stepped outside and onto the side walk. She began to head onward with Spamton, tucking her hands into her coat pockets.
“So…are ya plannin’ on sneakin’ over to my work place AGAIN
tomorrow night?” She began to tease.
“You’ve been payin’ me visits a lot, lately.”
Even after he left was he a blushing mess, drowning his emotions in alcohol he clearly couldn’t afford- but Paola usually helped him out when it came to his tab. Some time during his wait had she come back to the bar, this time with yet another pretentious customer. Spamton, being how he was couldn’t help but take hesitant glances at them before looking away and idly drawing his finger against his glass.
The last thing he wanted was for some jerk to yell at him for ogling someone they paid their good money on.
Though soon enough her shift was over and a wave of relief came over him.
Spamton would make sure to hurry out there quick, hoping for no one to really see them if any previous customers were still around…he’d hate to get beat up again.
Though he felt relieved that was all over, his heart fluttering thoughts were on the fact that he was now alone with Paola as he walked her home. He’d make sure to take the longer route home to make the time last more.
‘ That’s only because seeing you every day….’ He looked away, mumbling the rest to himself as he blushed more, almost wanting to reach out to hold onto her hand.
‘ Really makes me feel alot better. ‘ he’d mutter. Lips would purse as he didn’t even care if Paola heard him or not.
…he was lying. They’d been friends long enough for her to know when he was blowing smoke out of his ass. And it wasn’t a first time occurrence. Paola knew how lousy his work could be for him…….but she care too much about him to call him out on it.
Instead, she just gave a smirk right back at his forced smile and shrugged.
“…that’s great, Spam. I’ve been hopin’ things would turn around for
ya. I asked Gold about you the otha day and…well he said you were
havin’ some trouble. But I’m glad to hear otherwise.”
The bartender continued to glare at Paola as she stood at the bar, taking up space in his work area. But she merely looked over at him and stuck her tongue out.
“MIND ya business.” She spit out.
They turned away and continued their work, and she turned her attention back to Spamton. Paola reached out and placed her hand on top of his, giving him a reassuring smile.
“Ya know I’m always rootin’ for ya, Spam.
I know ya gonna blow all ya friends out of the water some day with
ya sales. You’ll make it.”
There was this long silence between them as she kept her hand on his and just…smiled at him. But once she realized how long that had gone on for, Paola gently pulled her hand away and tried to play it off as…nothing more than friendly support.
“…hey uh…” She rubbed at her wrist nervously, speaking once again.
“…I’m about to get off work in about 40 minutes. You…I mean can ya walk me
home? Gold can’t really pick me up t’night.”
He couldn’t help but keep that forced grin on his face, only for it to drop once she turned away, his shoulders dropping as he glanced away and took a long sip of his drink. Though once he felt her hands on his did he quickly glance back over at her, her words making him feel better.
Sure their friends always teased him for being slower and not as successful but…Paola was always the one out of them that was cheering him on, beleving him with his drunk babbles about one day making it big. Lips pursed did his expression soften as he blushed more before staring back down into his drink.
‘ Huh? ‘ He wondered why her “boyfriend” was so busy that he couldn’t come pick her up from work. Though hearing her ask if he could walk her home instead made him feel a burst of happiness. This was his chance to spend more time with her.
His smile grew more.
‘Y-Yeah….! Of course sweetcheeks, you know I’d never turn down a chance to walk you home! ‘ he’d say proudly.
