“GROWMAX!!!” - Krush
“GROWMAX!!!” - Krush
Apparently the next eleven episodes of Power Players have already released in Canada for the French viewers on ICI TOU.TV, a video-on-demand website.
Let’s hope those episodes are available soon in English on Cartoon Network in the US so I could watch them.
Also, we have only fifteen more episodes left until the season finale.
*SCREAMS INTERNALLY AGAIN*
Can’t wait for the show to come out soon! Already can tell in the last image that the Ghostforce is gonna be such a bad*** crew!
Hi. I was just wondering if you knew of or could get any updates on Zak Storm season 2? Was really hoping the rumor of it coming out in September 2020 was true but that doesn't seem to have worked out. Thanks.
Sorry. No updates so far. I’ve been searching everywhere for any news for Zak Storm Season 2, but there’s nothing. The “September 2020″ is only the delivery date for Season 2, but for some reason, the PGS Entertainment website has recently removed any information about it.
The only update I know is on June 6, 2019, when Jeremy Zag posted on his Instagram what’s appeared to be a pile of papers about Season 2. It doesn’t help that the pandemic basically delays production for the season. And aside from Miraculous, it also happened to Power Players which is still in its first season and there’re only 26 episodes left to finish. I hope the production for Season 2 of Zak Storm will return soon since there’s no way we’re going to let it end in a cliffhanger where the Seven Cs are all trap in the Bermuda Triangle forever. This is like waiting for Miraculous Season 2 all over again.
I’ll update this as I get new information.
I was looking into trademarked names of Zag shows/characters to see if there was any information for the specials, and I noticed Zag has had the name “Fairy Force” trademarked since earlier this year. Source: https://uspto.report/TM/88382867
This report shows that Zag America owns the trademarks for shows like Miraculous, Ghostforce, and Power Players.
But they applied for another - Fairy Force - last April, and were served a NOA for the name this March. To my knowledge, this means they are allowed to use the name as they please, and they’ve indicated intent to use it in various entertainment, toy, game, decor, food, etc. purposes.
For context, they were awarded the Ghostforce name in 2018. The following year (2019), a promo video had leaked with completed animation for the show. And in September, the show comes out.
So, if I’m correct, a new Zag show called Fairy Force has been in development for some time now. We should hear some news about it in the next few years if they don’t abandon the name like they did TForce 7 - An old name for Power Players they were using until they switched.
Let me know what you think.
To anyone who read this blog post, last night (which was August 31, 2020) I have contacted the folks from Le Groupe TF1 to ask them about the release date of Ghostforce on TFou since I heard it was supposed to come out this September in France. Keep in mind that I don’t live in France and I know very little about the French language so I only use Google Translate to translate what I’m going to say to them from English to French, but I did manage to get a reply back via my email. The screenshot above is the email I received this morning and let me translate what it said in English:
To date, we do not have a date or broadcast period for this program. However, do not hesitate to consult our program schedule which is available here: TF1 Group channel schedule .

With that in mind, it looks like the series have been delay once again in France. Another article source I found said that the series would come out this spring 2021 on TFou. But who knows, maybe the series would be released in another country first before we know it since the sneak peek clip from the TFou conference revealed that the English dub for the Bananax episode has already recorded. There’s no news about Ghostforce on Disney Channel in my country yet since it didn’t mention at all on Animation Magazine, but I’ll let you know when I find something else.
Okay, I’m officially confused. Despite an earlier article post I found said that Ghostforce will be this September on TFou, another article that published four days after it said that Ghostforce would actually be airing on “Spring 2021″. What?!
“As for new series, Splat Harry will arrive in the fall, Dronersat the end of 2020, The Smurfs , like Ghostforce, in spring 2021.”
I’ll keep you posted on the Ghostforce release date once I found any more evidences to this.
The other day, I was browsing through different websites lately when I came across this magazine on a website called Issuu.com. There is a legit magazine called Toys and Family Entertainment and it has an issue that was released for February 2020. One thing that stands out to me for the magazine issue is that there is one special Q&A page that shows Jeremy Zag himself being interviewed for the magazine. The interview is mainly about Jeremy talking about himself and how he found his company ZAG as well as the partnership with Playmate Toys to produce toys and merchandise for Miraculous, Ghostforce, and Power Players. Miraculous is said to be Jeremy’s first project which is technically true since he came up with a total of nine projects right after he found his company. But that’s not important for this discussion.
One thing that I noticed while reading the magazine was Jeremy’s answer to the last question on the page about his new and upcoming titles.
We have another soon to be announced series in development with a major network in EMEA that we see as [a] true follow up to Miraculous. Without saying too much, the series is set in London and follows two young estranged sisters as they learn to deal with teenage challenges, assimilation and of course, protecting a magical power from the forces of evil.
- Jeremy Zag, page 18 of February 2020 issue of Toys and Family Entertainment
That’s right, a “true follow-up” for Miraculous Ladybug. Technically, a follow-up is like a sequel, but I see the follow-up show as more of a spiritual successor to Miraculous. If you don’t know what a “spiritual successor” is, this is a definition taken directly from TV Tropes:
“A Spiritual Successor is a type of sequel that is not part of the same world or story as its predecessor, but is nonetheless considered to be a successor because it shares common themes, styles, and elements, and may even be made by the same creators. In other words, it’s a sequel "in spirit”.
Since Miraculous will someday end in the future, it makes sense why ZAG must create another show as a way for any Miraculers who wants to move on should check out its new show since the new show will help fill its void that Miraculous left once its final episodes air. The show Jeremy Zag talking about in the interview is called Miss Rose, which you can tell by its working logo having the exact same Lobster font as Miraculous.
While nothing much is known about the show, Miss Rose is from the ZAG Heroez brand just like Miraculous. It features two estranged sisters who’re magical spies in London “as they learn to deal with teenage challenges, assimilation and of course, protecting a magical power from the forces of evil”. Based on many concept arts I found, Miss Rose would have some elements similar to Miraculous since it would feature magical jewelry that the girls must use to transform into spy superheroes to protect a city from an evil villain who’s out to steal them and there’ll possibly be origin stories for this mysterious magical jewelry. Since Miss Rose will be a follow-up to Miraculous, my guess there’ll also be some romance in the series with their own version of a love square. I bet the love square in Miss Rose would be a twisted version like this:
Boy and girl like each other but too shy to admit.
Boy is secretly a supervillain while girl is secretly a spy superhero and they really hate each other despite not knowing each other’s identities.
Currently, we have no idea when Miss Rose will come out, but will you ever check out the series after Miraculous end its run. I know it’ll take place outside of Paris, but will you continue to watch Miss Rose as a spiritual successor to Miraculous? And if Miss Rose has its own love square like Miraculous, will you ship it?
Why you should watch „Zak Storm: Super Pirate“ (or at least give it a try)!
The Zak Storm fandom has always been small and got overshadowed by Miraculous etc.
But season 2 will be on it‘s way, and as someone who loves this series so much I want to show others how amazing und underrated this series is.
Please, give it a try:
Reason 1: The Genre
Zak Storm combines Action, Adventure and Science Fantasy all in one.
Reason 2: The Story
FROM THE STUDIO THAT BROUGHT YOU MIRACULOUS
“Zak Storm” tells of the adventures of young teen surfer, Zak – a headstrong and adventurous kid swept into the Bermuda Triangle while surfing.
Once inside, Zak partners up with a enchanted talking sword called Calabrass.
Calabrass allows him to transform into a swashbuckling, renegade hero to fight off the numerous perils of the unique and diverse Seven Seas within the belly of the Triangle.
Young Zak sails the mysterious seas with an extraordinarily living ship, the Chaos, and his crew comprised of; Calabrass the talking sword, Cece an Atlantean princess first mate, Crogar a thick-headed & heavy-fisted Viking, Caramba a neurotic alien space traveler, and Clovis a poltergeist prankster kid!
Can Zak manage the many quirky personalities of his ship & crew in order to lead them past uber villain, Skullivar, and escape the Triangle?
Reason 3: The animation
The animation is amazing, not only when it comes to epic fight scenes but also the amazing shots of the different location throughout the mysterious Bermuda Triangle…
and the special lighting at really emotional scenes:
Reason 4: What does it teach you?
Zak Storm teaches…
• that being a good leader doesn’t mean to be the strongest or smartest. As leader you are never alone, because you have your team that will help you through the hardest times. It teaches you about unity and team work.
• that neither being afraid of something or making mistakes is something bad. With a group of friends you can overcome any obstacles.
• that it’s all about enjoying the journey.
Even though their desire to go back to their homes is what brings them together in the first place, it’s all about what they experience along the way. If they succeed or fail. They don’t give up and work even harder making this journey a crazy, fun and amazing adventure through the unknown seven seas.
And there’s still so much more!
Zak Storm really is a beautiful show!
So please give it a try!
ARE YOU READY TO SET SAIL?
Ladies and gentlemen, this is another sneak peek of the Bananax episode from Ghostforce!
If you’re wondering why it looks so much like “Stormy Weather” from Miraculous Ladybug, that’s because they’re literally animated by the one and only true high-quality animation studio for ZAG: SAMG Animation!
Also, how ironic is that both “Stormy Weather” and the Bananax episode share the same production code “101″ and they feature a villain with ice power.
Okay, let me just say first that Ghostforce will
have its worldwide premiere be release in France this September at some point on TFou. But unlike how I normally excited whenever a ZAG TV series and/or season is finally confirm to be release without any delays, Ghostforce is very different to me when it comes to understanding what’s been going on behind-the-scenes.
To those who’re completely unaware, Ghostforce has a very long production ever since it was announced all the way back in October 15, 2013 as a collaboration between ZAG and PGS Entertainment. You see, it was originally going to be a live action/CGI-animated hybrid series.
“Their first co-venture is Ghostforce, a new series that combines live action with animation to tell the story of a New York City chemistry teacher who develops a technology capable of capturing and storing ghosts. He recruits three of his students and a friendly ghost, Flubby, in his quest to save his beloved city from these multi-colored, gelatinous creatures.”
But like every other ZAG series, Ghostforce has a troubled production. First, it was announced by Jeremy Zag that production have been greenlighted on April 20, 2015. Then he announced that the release year for the series would be in 2016, but then it was pushed back to 2017, only for the official ZAG website to revealed that it was delay in 2018, then it was delayed again to 2019, and now it will slated to premiere in either 2020 or 2021. The thing is, the series haven’t start its production until May 2018 which was only five years after it was first announced since ZAG was focused on its other shows like Miraculous Ladybug, Zak Storm, Popples, Power Players, and Denver the Last Dinosaur (2018). Which while I don’t want to pin the blame on them for focusing too much on those shows
(including the Denver the Last Dinosaur reboot, I mean what are they thinking about the animation), they really have to put their priorities in order since their projects have been delayed multiple times after its first announcement. Anyway, it wasn’t until September 2019 when one of the official ZAG Vimeo channels released a promotional video and it reveals the status of the series; Ghostforce will be coming exclusively to Disney Channel (at least outside of France and Brazil as far as I aware) in either 2020 (from the shorter version of the trailer) or 2021 (from the extended trailer which you can watch somewhere on my blog). At first, people like me was skeptical over whether or not Ghostforce would be delay again after 2020 since there weren’t a lot of news about its production. But finally on December 2019, the Vimeo channel released another promotional video which
reveals the very first CGI footage of the series and it serves as an evidence to prove that the series will be release in 2020 for real since it meant the animation studio have finish animated the first couple of episodes
Now, it’s time for me to tell you why I have high hope for the series to become successful once it released. I don’t know if you know, but ZAG is actually planning to produce their own ZAG Heroez cinematic universe in the future because of the success of Miraculous. So far, the only ZAG Heroez series that are currently airing are Miraculous, Zak Storm: Super Pirate, and Power Players. But out of the three, Miraculous is the most successful and a breakout hit for the studio with a very huge fanbase. However, both Zak Storm and Power Players, two ZAG Heroez series that came out after Miraculous, aren’t as popular as Miraculous with its rather small fanbase and how it’s very unheard of in the eyes of the Miraculers due to how awful they’re being treated in the USA when it aired on TV. The reason why I’m mentioning the US is because I live there and I witnesses how the two ZAG Heroez shows have been going through.
For Zak Storm, while they were released first in France and then in the UK, the only channels it aired in the USA are KidsClick (which is a now discontinued programming block that isn’t as well-known as Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, or Cartoon Network) and Discovery Family. However, Discovery Family’s treatment for Zak Storm isn’t any better since the channel has declined in popularity recently, resulting in the show being barely heard of here. Luckily Zak Storm is now available to watch on Netflix, but I don’t think the fanbase would grow even more any time soon and it’s still nothing compare with the Miraculous Ladybug phenomenon, especially because the series is now on a very long hiatus since we’re currently waiting for season two to come out.
And for Power Players, well let me just say how the series being air on Cartoon Network here is even worse. We have a show about a young boy with the ability to transform into an action figure and leads a superhero team of living toys, which was co-produced by Man of Action who’re the creators of Ben 10 and Big Hero 6 as well as collaborators for Zak Storm. But what did Cartoon Network did to Power Players since it’s their acquired show? Well, the channel released the episodes literally one-two months before its television premiere which lead to its terribly low ratings of less than 0.25 million viewers watching. I’m not even kidding. Hell, the lowest ratings for the series is around 0.06 million viewers which is very awful because none of the episodes for Power Players that aired ever reach a million viewers. The show is also available on Netflix, but I don’t think it would make up for how it’s been treated in the US like crap on Cartoon Network due to the channel’s terrible schedule.
With two ZAG Heroez shows that were released after Miraculous being flops in the USA during its airing on TV, it won’t be able to grow its audience members like it supposed to and who knows what would happen to the ZAG Heroez brand if Miraculous ever finish its story while the rest of the IPs are failures in the eyes of the audience. With Ghostforce coming this year, my only hope is that it would be a success and has the same phenomenon as Miraculous since it would air on Disney Channel which is well-known here and the schedule is a lot better than Cartoon Network thanks to its diversity of shows. Consider Disney Channel now has shows like The Owl House, Big Hero 6, Ducktales, and Amphibia which are successful because of its heavy lore and/or story arcs, I also hope Ghostforce would live up to its name on the channel once it released and if it have any heavy story lore, then people would tune in and watch it similar to how people tune in to watch Miraculous. And who knows, since Ghostforce is an action series, it would also find its place on Disney XD too.
Here’s hoping it’ll be a success in the West and around the world.
OMG! Another sneak peek clip of an episode of Ghostforce.
I was hoping the first two episodes that would air serves as an origin special for the Ghostforce team similar to what they did to Zak Storm and Power Players. But seeing that the Bananax episode production code is “101″, it looks like the origins special would be released later in the season similar to what Miraculous did for the middle of season one.
Also, the presenter speak about a "globou", who's an IA who help the team. I guess it's the replacement for the "flobby" characteur they talked about on the wiki. Maybe it has another name in english. Slimer from ghostbuster was called "boufftou" (eat-all) in the french version.
I think so. I mean, we have Cat Noir’s name being changed to Chat Noir, and Action Axel is called Super Axel in the French dub of their respective shows. However, we don’t know if Flubby has been replaced by Glowboo similar to how Professor Richenbach was replaced with Miss Jones or if he/she has his/her whole name has change similar to how Mike’s name was originally Sam before it was changed later in production.
i’m not even joking your ghostforce posts have lit up my entire week. you are seriously a superhero for keeping the hype for this show real
Thank you. As part of the staff member at nearly every single ZAG wikis on Fandom, I’m trying my absolute best to research as much information about the projects ZAG produced outside of Miraculous as possible. Since Miraculous is the studio’s breakout hit with its huge popularity, my current mission is to help shows like Power Players, Kobushi, Popples, and Zak Storm get more love and attention due to their rather small fanbase by posting as much information about them, especially news about its release, here in my blog.
What an amazing team transformation sequence! Featuring: Andy/Fury (green), Mike/Krush (blue), and Liv/Myst (pink).
Still excited for the series coming this September in France. I hope it’ll have as much attention as possible since it’ll be on Disney Channel in other countries like the US and have a much bigger fandom in the same level of Miraculous.
So, I don't want to worry anyone, but in the instagram post for ghostforce, the presenter says "expected for spring 2020". Which is odd, because the article does says spetember. Kind of weird.
I think it’s because the “expected for spring 2020″ is a piece of outdated information? I don’t really know. While I didn’t find any more pieces of evidence to prove that Ghostforce will be coming this September in France without any delays since I recently found out about the article, both the official TF1 Pro Twitter and the official TFou Facebook reveals that the show will be released during the 2020-2021 school year in France. So for now, let’s assume the series would be released this September and I’ll keep an eye out for any more news about it.
In other breaking news! I found out about the official sneak peek video of the series from the TFOU conference. Thank you Miracle Box from Instagram for the video!
The animation is so freakin cool, thank you folks from SAMG Animation!
Breaking news! It’s confirmed that Ghostforce will be airing on TFOU in France this year on September 2020! Finally after all these years of being delayed, Ghostforce will finally made its worldwide premiere in France and fittingly enough it’ll be on the same TV channel of Miraculous Ladybug for the French viewers! Spread the news, y’all! Please, please, please!
Translated text from French to English:
“TFou, the youth brand of the TF1 group, has just unveiled its schedule for the start of the new school year in September 2020. It will be marked by the arrival of new animated series, such as Droners (Cyber Group Studios / La Chouette Cie / Supamonks) for 6 / 10 years ; Splat & Harry (Blue Spirit Productions) for 4/6 year olds; Ghost Force (Zagtoon) for 5/9 years old.“
For any Miraculers who live in France who’re waiting for Season 4 to come out, be sure to check out Ghostforce while you wait.
And if for some reason the series premiere in the French dub before its English dub premiere, be sure to translate them for me with English subtitles. I hope it’ll be release on Disney Channel and/or Disney+ (the same two TV channel that also aired Miraculous in most countries) in the US in the near future because (no pun intended) I’ve been dying to see it for a long, long, long time!
Photo above is from the official TFOU Facebook post.
Le gasp! I immediately figure out that the background of the Miraculous Shanghai promotional poster is a lot like the background concept art Jeremy Zag posted on his Instagram back on May 28, 2019. The only differences between the two are obviously they put in Ladybug and the logos for the poster. But at that time, he didn’t specifically reveal it’s for the special nor he mention that it’s related to Miraculous either. He only mentioned that it was related to the character Lady Dragon. Jeremy, you are clever and full of surprises!
Mysterious new character was first revealed from that one picture Jeremy uploaded literally a month ago.
Check out this amazing (no, awesome) promotional artwork Jeremy Zag posted on his Instagram. It features the main heroes from the ZAG Heroez brand, along with a description that said: “Zag Heroez Values: Love, Courage, Humility, Kindness, Belief, Perseverance, Loyalty”.
From left to right, we have:
From the look of the picture, the promotional artwork seems to be unfinished and it’s only a color key due to the lack of detail features in the characters’ eyes and hair. Let’s hope Jeremy Zag uploaded the finished version of the promotional artwork so I can have a better look at the last three characters.
New Art Concepts from Miraculous The Movie!
In a new video posted by the official Zag account on Vimeo, the phenomenon that has been the series is shown and at the end they show the art concepts of the movie!
Including a callback of the Ladynoir meeting in the Origina episodes, Hawkmoth, The Louvre, what it looks like to be a callback from the Mr Pigeon episode, some singing and…
The Ladynoir Dance!! 😍
This is so much to handle!! 😱
Here is the complete vídeo 👇
The original video is currently being set to private on Vimeo, but it’s a good thing we screenshot the concept arts and a copy of the video still manage to be play here. What I hope is that the promotional video would be upload on the official Miraculous Ladybug YouTube channel at some point in the near future.
