I was just scrolling through the SamBucky tag, as one does, and saw it and was like, huh those lines are familiar did I read that fic? And then saw you tagged me and facepalmed because I WROTE IT. hi! so i’ve heard you say art is a hobby a couple of times now, you work with kids right? would you be willing to tell a little more about that? i’m a high school senior and am currently looking into going to collage for early childhood development, wanted to hear your thoughts, thanks!! ~ 🦕

hi!! thats really cool, i actually i minored in childhood studies in college! 

but yeah, this isn’t exactly what i was planning to do.. i didn’t really have a plan (haha)… BUT this past year has been crazy anyways so im cutting myself some slack. ANYWAYS i’ve been working with a childcare program since september and its been pretty neat. it’s been kind of a combo teacher assistant/ camp counselor type deal! oh and also it’s with elementary age kids, although i have experience with middle school and high school as well in those settings.

Some curiosity: how many drawings do you do per week on average? I feel like you're always just whipping out these amazing pieces and I'm incredibly impressed.

Also, when you draw for fics, how do you find those fics?

1) let’s see, art is my hobby, and since i’m stuck at home most of the time outside of work, i end up drawing… a lot. since last tuesday, i’ve started 9 different arts, some of those weren’t posted/are just sketches tho!! the week before i only completed 5 different pieces (my wrist was bothering me, i took a few days break!)

but probably if i had to put a number on it. anywhere between 5-10 completed pieces, sometimes more… when i get into an art mood i can sit and draw for hours, and that might mean multiple pieces! depending on what they are :D

2) how i find the fics i draw for… well i don’t go out of my way for a fic that i think will inspire my muse, it usually just happens! i read a lot of fic tho, the amount i draw for is like. a small percentage of what i actually read! 

in the broadest sense, the fics that i end up drawing for, i find within whatever search filters i’ve put in for that fandom!

uhh i listen to very few podcasts but! i can highly recommend a few!

the first podcast i really got into was Campaign Podcast back in 2017, i guess technically it’s not a fiction podcast?? but its an actual play podcast within the star wars universe, and all the characters are absolutely fantastic, and it helped me love star wars again!!

it’s essentially 3 men and a baby in space. and the kid has force powers. anyways. BIG recommend. big found family vibes. amazing character arcs in the best and worst ways. also i’ve done a bunch of fanart for it, and a few animatics!!

and then i think?? the only other fiction podcast i’ve listened to is The Strange Case of the Starship Iris, it’s been a hot minute since i listened but i really enjoyed the parts i listened to, AND i know they just started season 2!! <3
