I haven’t played TS3 for a long time, but I really enjoyed TS4 recently. I don’t do historical scenes there but a gameplay with my families I created ever since TS2. Here’s my first upload to the Gallery.
The Wandmaker’s shop is a smal three story building for your Spellcatser sims. A little bit inspired by Ollivanders, you will find a amall store with workplace and a small flat above. The house is completely functional. No CC.
Inspired by German Reformation era and the paintings by Lucas Cranach the Elder
Amazing @andantezen inspired me finally to do my favourite era. It wasn’t a hard decision after I saw the amazing ruffs/collars by @windermeresimblr and TS4 dress conversion (1st pic, right) by @joojconverts
I bought TS2 when I was around 12, I guess, in 2007/9. I still remembered playing TS1 with friends als a younger kid but I never actually was a big fan of gaming but the possibilities of Sims always interested me. So, that time I started with TS2. The Sims are still the only PC game I’ve ever really played.
How long have you been a Simblr, and why did you become one?
Joined tumblr in May 2016. I had that huge legacy of sims that I created in every game from TS2 to TS4 but which I up to today never shared :) But with the Game of thrones hype, I started to create scenes and castles from that show (Not very good though). And then I discovered simblrs like @danjaley, @sims3medieval (who I miss) and @tudorsims (who I never got to know on tumblr). I spent months watching their simblrs from my browser without actually joining.
What type of Simblr are you?
I guess, I became kind of a builder, dresser and illustrator. Honestly, I haven’t really played the actual game since I joined tumblr but I love it to modify the game with lots of historical stuff. But I prefer maxis match over alpha cc because in my opinion, it must still look like the sims with all its “cartoony” aesthetics. Before that, I was a legacy simmer with lots of familys in Sunset Valley .
Which generation of Sims do you primarily play?
It’s mostly TS3 because in my opinion its possibilities to create historical sims and individual settings is still unmatched (TS2 gives me a lot of nostalgia though). But when I want to play simply for myself, I often switch to TS4 which gives me a lot of joy.

This year, @tyrellsimsoficeandfire is not actively taking part in the Three Hazelnuts Christmas Special, although he’s still supporting the project backstage. I ( @danjaley ) am going to keep up the tradition with an adaptation from Grimms’ Fairy Tales: The Six Ravens. (A mixture of “The Six Swans”, “The Seven Ravens” and “The Twelve Brothers”, which all tell essentially the same story.)
The story will post in December, maybe Advent-Calender style, maybe with another schedule - I haven’t decided yet.
Until the story starts, maybe you’d like to reread one of our earlier fairytales. You can do so from the blog’s homepage.
New Christmas Story
This year, it’s @danjaley‘s turn to enchant us all with another fairy tale. Unfortunately, for the first time since 2017 I couldn’t support her.
But I have seen her first drafts and they are simply amazing! I’m excited to be a reader this time.
Please have a look and if you like, follow our fairy tale simblr @threehazelnuts.
it’s been a
long time since you last heard from me an I hope you are all doing well. Some
of you really sent me kind messages.
first: I am great although past months’ situation wasn’t easy for me at first.
Actually I thought, I couldn’t finish my Master in History or even worse, that
I’d end up unemployed in autumn. I worked a lot in part-time jobs at museums
during summer and now I suddenly got a job offer at university. I’m really glad,
but that means that academics play a big role now for me.
brings me to the sadder part for simblr: I haven’t played TS3 since March and
maybe won’t do it for a while. The truth is: I might have lost interest. This
might change in the future, but for now I don’t feel like a simmer anymore. I have
around 60 sims posts in my drafts and don’t know what to do with them. Should I
post them? But they are unfinished drafts for larger projects I once planned. [Many
of you’ll understand how my love for Game of Thrones faded, as well]
To my shame
I’ve to admit, I became intrigued of TS4
. It’s not as good for storytelling as TS3
but I like build some historical buildings from time to time (thanks to the
CC makers Felixandre and TheJim07).
actually, I might need to re-organize the tons of cc I have for TS3. Maybe then
the fun I once had will return. Who knows?
I thank you
all for the wonderful time we had here together. I will come to visit from time
to time and there’s always the possibility of my return next year. I don’t know
what @danjaley is planning, but maybe she’ll do our annual Christmas Project on
her own this year @threehazelnuts.
Took many days to make, there being so many details, and I only stopped – though the throne and her face needed more working on them – because by wrist actually started aching :O Still, I’m proud of what I’ve done, and enjoyed doing it so very much!
And this is one of the murals I am trying to find a 2x1 mesh of a poster – (flat to the wall), unframed and taking from floor to ceiling – so that I can release another series of Egyptian murals. Has anyone seen any mesh like this?
Rules: The rules are there are no rules, just make a lil lookbook with the sim of your choosing, but i do expect a lot of hats and boots ;). you can choose to go historic or more modern, it’s all up to you baby! and don’t forget to have fun!! that’s what’s the most important. literally just do whatever you want as long as you somehow stick to the theme yeehaw aka wild western/country and i’ll be very happy.
As you know, I love to play with different time periods. Wild West was something I always forgot before. but @simcatcher woke my interest! Ioved it and I tag @danjaleyand @andantezen.
The little mermaid drew back the crimson curtain of the tent, and beheld the fair bride with her head resting on the prince’s breast. She bent down and kissed his fair brow, then looked at the sky on which the rosy dawn grew brighter and brighter; then she glanced at the sharp knife, and again fixed her eyes on the prince, who whispered the name of his bride in his dreams. She was in his thoughts, and the knife trembled in the hand of the little mermaid: then she flung it far away from her into the waves; the water turned red where it fell, before she gave her prince one last kiss…
My favourite scene and the actual reason I wanted to do this story.
When I was a child, reading about Andersen’s mermaid’s end made me cry. Later, I was fascinated by its tragic twist.
The post was inspired by this scenefrom the Czech Movie The little Mermaid (
Malá mořská víla, 1976). I listened to its haunting song while playing sims over and over again.
(And again, thanks to @mspoodle1 for her magnificent ship which finally convinced me to do this story with @danjaley)
But now the Prince was supposed to travel to a faraway country, in order to take the Princess there as his wife. A marvellous ship was equipped and a grand entourage put together. But the Mermaid shook her head and smiled to herself. She knew the Prince’s feelings better than anybody. “I have to travel”, he had told her, “for I mustn’t offend my parents or the other land’s king. But this Princess won’t be like that beautiful girl who saved me. If ever I should have to marry, it would have be you than any stranger who doesn’t know my heart.”
“You aren’t afraid of the sea, my silent girl?” he had asked her when they went aboard. And he told her all he thought the knew about the sea and the strange creatures that lived in its depths. She smiled, for she knew all too well what it was like down in the ocean.
At night, when everyone except for the captain was asleep, she stood by the railing and looked down into the clear water. She thought she could see her father’s palace in the depth, and her grandmother looking up at her from the highest tower. She wanted to tell her that all was going to be well and that she was happy, but there was a ripple in the water and the vision was gone.
Dear @danjaley never fails to impress with her great shots. She didn’t even tell me and I was surprised with awe when I saw that palace underneath the sea. And how she used the ship by @mspoodle1!
Only the best singers came to the royal court. One of them had a particularly beautiful voice and the Prince smiled st her because he enjoyed the song so much. This made the Little Mermaid sad, for she knew she could have sung even more beautifully, and she thought: “If only he knew that I have given my voice to be here with him!”
Now the singers performed a graceful dance, and the Little Mermaid could not hold herself back. She threw up her arms and lifted herself onto tiptoe and so joined the dance as nobody had ever danced before. With her every movement her beauty became more apparent and her eyes spoke more deeply to the heart than the performers’ singing had done.
Everyone was delighted, especially the Prince, and the Little Mermaid kept dancing although with every step her feet hurt as if she were stepping on sharp knives.
Its’s @danjaley‘s turn now with The little Mermaid. And her Venetian style is stunning.
