Yee gosh, sorry for the inactivity. Tumblr is giving me trouble, XKit does not work most of the time (which makes avoiding spoilers and following people impossible and conversations super awkward, thanks), our internet connection comes and goes, my hard drives are full - all of them - aaand I’m sick. Yay.

Question: Spiridon: A whetstone, pricey but reasonably so. It's worth is measured by quality of craftsmanship, not fancy. It has a good grip, is meant to serve it's purpose for a lifetime and keep the users tools at peak efficiency. Also a salve. Smells of herbs, slightly greasy but soothing for the skin. For long walking feet, saddle sores and dry hands. For elves and trusty steeds.

These are lovely gifts, he thinks. Doesn’t think he deserves them, he was never good at accepting other people’s generosity.

He ignores the smell like he always does. It’s a pleasant fragrance, but his nose and his palate always tend to get overwhelmed. He’ll test the whetstone tomorrow, and smears some of the salve on his wind-bitten cheeks. At first it stings, but after a while he grimaces and for once it feels supple. A kind feeling, considering that most of the time his skin feels as dry and rigid as plaster.

Who sent it? He’ll send a gift of his own to the generous stranger.

It’s Asexuality Awareness Week! 

As some of you know, Venara Lavellan is asexual. I wanted to write a romantic scene that highlighted her connection with Solas, but without sexual content. Venara’s sexual orientation is very important to me, as I am asexual myself and I don’t see many ace characters represented in media. It is crucial that asexual relationships are written about both in media and in fanfic, to demonstrate the many ways in which that can take shape as there is a whole spectrum of experience. It’s also important to understand that a relationship that doesn’t have sex/doesn’t have regular sex is just as valid and healthy as the ones that do. 

Thank you to @sexlaughterhonesty for hosting an event this week and @buttsonthebeach for giving me a prompt that works so well for what I wanted to do!

Serenity

Sometimes, there were things waited for with a longing ache in the heart. 

Sometimes, those things never came.

But sometimes, they did come. It was a long wait, but they did come. 

Welcome home, Venara had murmured, pulling herself tight against him on the castle steps. Solas had held her, the pressure of his hands warm and familiar against her back, the wind pulling gently at her long hair, spinning it around them both. 

When what felt like hours had passed, she untangled herself from his grasp, slipped her hand in his and led him up the steps towards the open doors of the great hall. The train of her black gown slid softly over the stone, whispering against it. Solas walked beside her, his tall figure casting a shadow over her in the late afternoon sun. She glanced up at him, smiling quietly at his stoic profile, head held high, eyes looking forwards. Despite his stern gaze, she could feel him relax, the weight of his most recent journey washing away with every step they took. 

They passed Josephine and the visiting countess, Venara nodding and stating a quick apology before sweeping down the hall. She could hear Josephine deftly explaining the sudden change in schedule, the frantic murmur of hushed gossip from the visiting dignitaries, merchants and traders gathered in the hall. 

Inquisitor Lavellan and her elven apostate… 

Venara knew they could cause quite a stir for anyone unfamiliar with Skyhold’s peculiarities. She and Solas did not look like a usual couple—particularly not today. Solas stood a foot taller than her, dwarfing her. He was travel-weary, his clothes worn and stained and patched, the hem of his tunic bearing distinctive burn marks. Whatever he had encountered on his travels had given him trouble. In contrast, Venara was small, erring on the side of tiny. She was dressed formally for the duties of the day, her gown exquisite in black and gold with black fur wrap to keep her shoulders warm. Josephine had worked tirelessly to cultivate an appropriately regal image for her, one that she had slowly grown into. 

Despite their shared elven heritage, the care in their gestures, the fondness with which they looked at each other, something about them did not quite match.

Some small edits to Niero’s mod I made for myself. The first two remove the shoulder part of the scarf, the next two add tassels and the last two work best with any jackets based on Valentines Coat or the Greaser leather jacket.

The addon relies on Niero’s original mod and makes full use of it’s framework (as in materials, tints and changing of appearance at the armor workbench).

It’s Same Sex Couples and LGBT Families by Sensia on the Nexus! I am using the “Same Sex Female” file. I don’t know if it is available for the Xbox though.

The goggles are from CROSS’ Outfits and the Scarf is from CROSS Uni Scarf. Both by Niero on the Nexus. I think I use pretty much all of their not too skimpy stuff.

I feel like the best part about this whole thing is that Jay probably goes the fiddlesticks route even in more serious times, like I can so easily imagine him standing there with a huge bleeding deathclaw-induced wound or a harpoon or something sticking out of him and just weakly going ‘oh shoot’ before passing out - and the cursewords come out when he’s really really angry or frustrated at someone or something, and his usual outlets don’t help, or maybe from someone else who means a lot to him is hurt or in danger (I can imagine constant lowkey stream of ‘fuckfuckfuckfuck’ when he was carrying Deacon to safety in Nuka World after the incident in the Pack Backstage). ;u;

So there’s this little game called Rain by Cocoa Moss where you control a character through a walk in the rain. There’s calming rain sound effect and piano music, it’s a great little experience for people dealing with anxiety, stress, a bad day, or those who just love rain : )

Edit: I forgot to mention, there are things you can interact with, some a bit hidden, so for the full experience don’t forget to look around!

I thought I deleted it but with a bit of digging I found the mesh again. And there are still problems with it which I couldn’t solve at the time. I know a bit more now so I’ll take another look at it. 

No promises though, it was never something worth putting up for download and I still don’t know crap about making nice textures.
